Summary: Where were the titans?
Review: Let me begin by saying that I just loved Clash of the Titans, so you can imagine my deep dissapointment when I popped this disc in my player and, after three grueling hours, saw not one titan! Some sequel this turned out to be! With all of the water, I was just certain that at any moment the Kraken might surface. But it didn't. There were no epic battles of mythological proportions. There wasn't even a good battle scene with the iceberg. The boat just crashed into it! And that was it. The boat just gave up and sank. Just like that. What is film making coming to? How did Cameron come up with this story? I think something like this happened for real a while ago (but I could be mistaken). It's not a very original idea. Sort of like UPS. I mean the post office already thought of that idea. Bringing stuff to your house, that is. So why'd UPS want to do it too? It's very unoriginal of them. Hopefully, Clash of the Titans 3 will be better.

Summary: It's a nice movie...
Review: Take it from me, this is a nice movie to add to your video collection. I have seen it many, many, times as I am a teen. The music, sound, and digital effects are beautiful. The story is not very complicated and its unrealistic, but what movie does well if its exactly what happens in life? This movie did make $1.8 billion. The story is simple: A rich bratty girl named Rose[Winslet] is engaged to a rich guy named Cal [Billy Zane] and then she falls in love with Jack [Leo DiCaprio]. But then of course the setting is on the Titanic which makes things more interesting. The ship was built very precisely and looks much more beautiful in DVD. There were only two adultish parts. I really liked it and I hope you do, too.

Summary: Not much to say except... terrible!
Review: My title says it all. It just didn't deserve all those academy awards. When I first saw it I thought it was the best movie alive. Then I bought it when it came out, I'm so deppressed I got it.

Summary: THE most overrated film of the century!
Review: Don't get me wrong, Titanic is a good movie and is definitly worth seeing. BUT IT IS THE GREATEST FILM EVER MADE! That honor, in my opinion goes to Citizen Kane and The Wizard of Oz (theyr'e tied in my book). The reason this film isn't great to me is the characters- I can't get attached to them enough to care if they live or die. The casting of the two lead characters (Jack and Rose) is all wrong. I don't particularly care for Leo, and I can't stand Kate Winslet. I myself wish James Cameron went with his first choice for Rose (Christina Ricci); at least she looks better. On the other hand, he was going to cast Reba MacIntre (how ever it's spelled), instead of Kathy Bates. THANK GOD HE DIDN'T!

Summary: Over rated
Review: The fact that this film won so many oscars really shows that effects triumph over acting. It was sickening to see James Cameron claiming to be 'King of the world'. This is a prime example of never judging a book by it's cover. The whole story has nothing to do with the Titanic. It is simply a glossed up cheesy love story,(and not a very believable one at that)filled with equally unrealistic characters.

Leonardo di Caprio is just plain irritating as the spritely young Jack. Leonardo di Caprio is badly cast and as some people can't see he is a very bad actor. (The only time he ever showed any talent was as Johnny Depp's handicapped brother in 'What's eating Gilbert Grape')winning his ticket in a game of poker as young spritely lads so often do how predictable is that. He is truely a man on the edge!

And what was Kate Winslet thinking? She is such an excellent actress (see Jude and Heavenly Creatures) her skills are totally wasted as the poor little rich girl who finds 'freedom' when she meets scruffy little Jack. Billy Zane is also not believable as the villain.

Although the acting is bad a lot of it can be attributed to atrocious screenwriting, a prime example being the scene where the ship is sinking, people are plumetting into the water around Rose and Jack. And in the middle of all this Rose turns to Jack and says:

"Jack this is where we first met!"

Another scene is where an Irish woman is telling her children about 'Tir na nOg' which epitomizes the daft perception American filmmakers have about Irish people. Very few children are told about Tir na nOg outside of a classroom in Ireland and sometimes not even there. Enough said

This film insults rather than comemerates the people who died. It tries to make you feel more sorry for characters that didn't exist than the actual people who did drown eg. The Astars (owners of Macy's) but of course we don't want to think of them because of course as this film's prejudice shows rich people are evil and mean except of course Mrs Brown(Kathy Bates) but she wasn't always rich, her mind driven by the importance of money (as this movie shows) as everyone else is.

Don't be taken in by this forgettable film. It is a watch once and forget about it kind of movie. The fact that it won as many oscars as Ben Hur is an insult. Yet I guarantee Ben Hur will remain a classic long after Titanic is confined to the archives

Summary: A movie that will be remembered
Review: There aren't a lot of 90's movies that will be remembered when we look in the past. But one we weill cherish will be "Titanic" A muslti-million blockbuster, that tells a great and tragic story. It will never top the classic epics of the 60's and 70's, but it's on the top near them.

There are a lot of things you have to like in this movie.

Kate Winslet's and Kathy Bates's acting direction sound and visual effects music

It was wonderfully directed, by the man that risked everything and got more back. Altough the scripts was kind of redundant, the love story told will never be forgotten.

Summary: SSSWWWEEETTT!
Review: A beautiful movie about a tragic event. Great acting, story, special effects, and plot twists. The two leads are the greatest couple ever to grace the silver screen. This may be a chick flick, but homosexuals will like it to.

Summary: Great movie.
Review: This movie if nothing is a very entertaining one, there aren't many movies out there that I can sit 3 hours through, especially in those wonderful movie theater seats (sarcasm). Yes the movie isn't solely based on the Titanic, yes they did say that it was, and yes it was just advertisement hooplah but it still is a very good movie. To tell you the truth I could care less if the movie was about that 'cause we all know what happened, there's zillions of other versions of it but let's face it most of us watched it 3 times because it is a love story which is something all of us can relate to, how many of you came close to dying in a ship wreck? The acting, with the exlusion of Winslet, was pretty bad, the dialogue was horrific to say the least and the script was jam packed with cliches and stunk but who said Casablanca had the best script and acting but we all remember the lines now don't we? So let's face it, this is probably the greatest love story of all time, so let's just sit back and enjoy it and not worry about historic facts.

Summary: A Magnificent Achievement Excelling on Many Levels
Review: The love story (most of the first half) and dialogue have garnered much criticism, and for that I shall take away a star.

But everything involving the great ship sinking is magnificent. I would have been perfectly content if Cameron had written a non-love story to take place at this time; it's irrelevant: He gets the sinking right. The special effects are top notch; that ship is as real as real can be. The sound is riveting; your skin will crawl as you realize what's happening. But the brilliance of the movie lies in Cameron's picture of humanity. He shows how the various passengers deal with the inevitable sinking of the ship. How do you face inevitability? Some choose to go out in style, drinking wine, until they truly *face* their death, and their eyes widen in fear. Some choose to spend their last minutes with their loved ones. Some continue their passion for music until the eleventh hour. Some pray for salvation. He shows the dark side of humanity as well. Along with this expert treatment, he employs the right camera shots and music to complement the action. The sinking of the ship is truly awesome, in the "inspiring awe" sense of the word. The second half of the movie more than makes up for the first half.

Summary: Not A Must See, But Definitly A Rent
Review: I have always been a fan of Kate Winslet and when Titanic came out I went to see it 3 days after it's release. And I was very disappointed in it. For 1 the story seemed to focus more on DiCapreo & Winslet than the storyline. And being a fan of Growing Pains too I thought DiCapreo & Winslet would shine instead I don't see how either got an award for it. If I had known it was like this I would of rented it and saved some money. Also I think after this James Cameron & Leonardo DiCapreo gloated way to much!
