Summary: TITANIC
Review: I went to see the Titanic no less than three times. When I saw it for the first time, I was junior. The reason why I saw it more than three times is that, in a word, it moved me. I had never seen in my life such a impressing movie. When I listen to the music used in the movie, scenes of the story come to my mind. It matchs well with those scenes. Especially, the tune used in the scene when Jack makes a promise with Rose in the cold sea brings tears to my eyes. I think Rose is a wonderful character, because she accepts Jackfs death and never tries to die following him. I think it is very difficult to accept a painful thing as it is and to try to live after that. It may be cruel to say so, but I think what makes the Titanic an impressing movie is Jackfs death. When Jack dies, I also feel sad and I wish Jack was alive. But if he was saved, I think the tragedy of the Titanics foundering could not be conveyed. Till I saw this movie, I only knew the fact that the Titanic ran against an iceberg and sank. But the Titanic is the movie that reproduces the fact faithfully. Seeing the movie, I learned many things about the accident and felt how tragic it was.

Summary: Incredible Story of Love, Death, and Immortality...
Review: I saw this movie during its original 1997 release and I vowed never to see it again- not because it was a bad movie, but because it was the most incredibly moving film I had ever seen. I couldn't bring myself to cry at the theater for fear that I wouldn't stop. So, I went home and cried for two hours- after the late show. I found this film riveting, not just for the story itself, but for the brutally honest imagery James Cameron used to depict the tragedy and torture of death and dying. Granted, most of it was special effects- AMAZING special effects!- but I couldn't say that the trauma of the sinking could have stayed with me had they spent less money and used a cheaper outlet of film making. In the end, I wasn't thinking about the money, the commercialization, or the pretty face of Leonardo...I was aching inside for the 1500 needless deaths, cast out to freeze in the icy water of the Atlantic. One last thing. About a year after I saw this film, I attended the Titanic Exhibit in Minneapolis, and my eye happened to catch something on open display in what appeared to be a large sand box. I walked over to it and there was a sign on the front which said, "Please Touch." So, I reached out and put my hand on the large, spatula shaped object, rusted from years of decay. It was then that I realized I was touching a boat davit recovered from the wreckage of the Titanic, and, in unison with this realization, a man came over to the display and put his hand on the davit next to mine. Then, he looked at me, and in a very small voice, said, "May God have been with them." I burst into tears.

Summary: Wow!
Review: How could anyone take one of the greatest tragedies the world has ever known, superimpose a fictional love story over it, and turn it into a movie? VERY WELL, that's how. The ship portrayed in the film is incredibly realistic... the viewer can really believe these sets were the ones that have been resting at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean for so long. It was quite a feat for the Hollywood set designers to create something that so convincingly portrays the interior compartments of the most luxurious ocean liner in history. Many would complain that a fictional romance was featured so strongly in a movie based on actual historical events. I have no such complaints. The purpose of the love story between Rose (Kate Winslet) and Jack Dawson (Leonardo Di Caprio) was to give the viewer a human perspective... To make the viewer FEEL how tragic the Titanic disaster really was. Director James Cameron was wildly successful in this area. I saw it in a theater (the first time) and many people around me seemed to be crying... I suppose everyone knew the ship was going to sink before we entered the theater, but weren't prepared to see the human aspect of the tragedy... the fictional love story. Wonderful writing! Here is a story for everyone. It is fairly accurate, historically, so it appeals to the history buffs. It's also a romantic love story, and a tear jerker. A tragedy.. and it even has its share of action scenes. And, all of it is done respectfully to those very real people who lost their lives on board the R.M.S. Titanic. It is a wonderful tribute.

Review: Titanic is the worst movie ever made in the history of the world. I wonder what the dirctor was on when he created this movie. When I saw this movie, It was so boring that I fell asleep through the entire movie. The only good part is when the ending credits came on. This movie is so terrible, that the orignal actors must be spinning in their grave. The only other good part I liked about this movie was able to turn it off. I encourage anyone who saw this stinker to send an message to HollyWood and tell everyone there to cease and desist making any movies like this and/or have Leonardo DiCaprio in them. If it is possible to rate this movie any lower than 1 star. I would rate this movie an -1,000,000 stars

Summary: Not worth a penny
Review: While the movie is a technical masterpiece, it has a loose plot based once again, on sex. I am not knocking it, but I do not think sex,like in this movie, should be shown to young viewers. PG-13? Should be R for sure. Unless you feel you must cheapen your dignity, don't buy this video. Why doesn't the film industry make technical AND dramatic classics? All the old visual and spectacular plotline movies, such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, are just considered old junk heaps now. Why has my America cheapened itself by settling with low grade plotlines in exchange for good special effects?(Actually, a majority of the scenes look very artificial.)There is my opinion of this so called "award winning" movie.

Summary: Best Movie!
Review: Leonardo DiCaprio, 26, and Kate Winslet, 25, bring "Titanic" to life as Jack Dawson and Rose Dewitt Bukater. DiCaprio plays Jack, a free spirited artist who does whatever he wants. Winslet plays Rose, a sophisticated rich girl who is engaged to an abusive man named Cal Hockley. Jack and Rose meet at the bow of the ship when Jack convinces her not to jump. Cal then invites Jack to join them for dinner tomorrow evening. Jack shows Rose his drawings and teaches her how to spit like a man. They go to dinner and go to a party downstairs afterwards. At some point, Rose changes her mind and goes to Jack. Their friendship suddenly turns into a very powerful love. After the ship hits an iceberg in the North Atlantic, their passionate love affair becomes a race for survival. My favorite scene is Jack and Rose standing on the bow of the ship and they kiss for the first time. This movie is a real tearjerker, as is both of the soundtracks. "Titanic" is a great movie!

Summary: Some times the Truth Hurts
Review: When James Cameron's Titanic Sailed to the big screen. Many things sailed with it. Emotions, Intrest, Wonder, Fear. Many are critisizing the story. Well let's look at it this way they are 2 TEENAGERS! This is their first experince with real love. They will not go around and act like Old people. And have the classical love and poems. Remember they fall in love in a matter of days! I own this DVD and I watch it all the time. James Cameron put his effort to do justice to the story. And I think of the people who died would like to be remembered. Think of your self, wouldn't like if an event like that happened someone shows how did you suffer. Well Titanic did. For the special effects I am not gonna get into that because we will never gonna finish talking about how amazing they were. And for everyone who said they can do better with 200 million lets see if you can take a risk of that much money and make a mega-scale, wonderful film like that (Don't compare it to StarWars, though I like StarWars but not as Much as Titanic). By the way I'm a guy so it not an obsession of DiCaprio that I saw the film many times in the theater.

Review: James Cameron has sweeped together an extraordinary film. An epic in it's own right. Everything abou this film is gigantic from the casting, to the screenplay, to the excellect special effects. when you look at the casting, no one could have played these roles better. Some of the flaws are so small, they're hardly noticable. One flaw is that there was a little much nudity in Rose's nude scene. If you want nudity, give the film an R rating. Maybe the film didn't deserve 11 oscars since Gone With The Wind was done to a better scale. This film has the makings of a major blockbuster, though. It has everything a blockbuster should have (passion, action, suspense, and great acting.) There is one thing you should know. You must see this film theatrically to fully appreciate it. VHS and Laserdisc viewings don't do this film any justice. A DVD viewing comes close, but it's much better in the theater. Seeing that gigant ship on a gigantic screen takes your breath away. The DVD's special features aren't all that special. You only get the thatrical trailer, English 2.0, English Dolby Digital 5.1, French 2.0, and English and Spanish subtitles. If you want to make a DVD worthy of this awesome film, make it a two disc set. A VHS viewing is very standard especially if you get the hacked full screen version. The widescreen version is okay, but the picture isn't very clear as with all VHS tapes. The Laserdisc is worse. It comes in widescreen and full screen. The Laserdisc comes in a two 12 inch disc set. The disc is recorded is Dolby Digital, which means you have to unplug the right channel, or you will just get a snowy sound. The picture quality is not much different from VHS picture quality, and you have to get up every hour or so to flip the huge disc over. My advice, buy the DVD for the best results. If you don't have a DVD player, by all means get the VHS. If you have a Laserdisc player, but no VCR or DVD player, buy the Laserdisc at your own risk, but it's not worth the $40 you'll pay. I feel that Titanic got most of it's hatred from people who didn't like the romance. If you don't like romance, just watch the second half. You''l be astounded by the special effects, especially when the ship is sinking. This film is worth a viewing, though. If you like Titanic, I also recommend Gone With The Wind.

Summary: Titanic Sinks Again
Review: A tragedy as monumental and as riveting as the sinking of RMS Titanic could have stood very well on its own without being buried in a cloying soap opera. I thought I was watching "The Perils of Jack and Rose." This movie is an embarrassment -- to me for watching it (I couldn't watch it all the way through), to the director, to the actors and to the unfortunate real-life passengers, who are sunk all over again. What's next, Mr. Cameron: "Leo and Kate in the San Francisco Earthquake?" "Leo and Kate in the Great Chicago Fire?" So much of this film is downright laughable: the blue plastic diamond; the charcoal nudie drawing that somehow survived 84 years underwater; the steamed-up car windows and the heavy breathing; the wildly-swinging axe that miraculously severed Leo's handcuffs; the silent-movie-quality acting and dialogue. There were so many compelling true stories in the actual sinking that it was entirely unnecessary to concoct a fictional one. The worst thing is that the real-life passengers we see here were so greatly diminished. Benjamin Guggenheim ("We are prepared to go down like gentlemen") was portrayed as a drunk. The Unsinkable Molly Brown was told to "shut that hole in your face," and we don't see why it is that she is considered a heroine today. Everyone in the cast looked like puppets, like stock characters. Kate Winslet had only one facial expression throughout the whole movie (and her clown-white makeup didn't help). I give this movie two stars, one for the special effects and one for the costumes.

Review: Who cares about the other reviews, this motion picture has it all. A great plot, and fantastic actors who do an incredible acting performance for their parts. Kate Winslet is really a very beautiful gal, and Leonardo DiCaprio is a young fellow who is really charismatic and highly talented in his acting. Titanic is a story about segration between the classes-rich and poor, and about love. I believe that 70 years from now this motion picture will still be viewed by all audiences. Film history has been made-Winslet,DiCaprio-Immortalized Forever. I wish it had more (KISSING) scenes between Kate and Leonardo, still film, very well made!!!
