Review: I waited forever to see this movie, for the simple reason that I always dread romantic tragedies. With 1192 reviews before mine, I can only say......I have never seen anything on Amazon with this many reviews. That in itself tells me that people felt very strongly about this movie, one way or the other. I had mixed feelings as I began watching this drama. It is a movie which takes a while to capture your heart. The plot is not as intense as it could have been. The acting seemed shallow in some places with a lack of depth in character development. In other scenes it was perfect and portrayed young love at its best. Not until the Titanic starts sinking, did I feel pulled into the ocean of feelings. The sheer human tragedy, the panic, the intensity of emotions overwhelming the passengers seemed to finally draw me into the reality of what really did happen. During this movie you may get the feeling that it was made for a teenage audience. It felt like a teenage girl's fantasy. Rose (Kate Winslet) rebels against her mother and soon to be husband, she sneaks away with Jack (Leonardo Di Caprio) to dance below deck, she receives a secret note...those are all things girls love. Jack is also below her in class, but shows more class than many of the rich members of society. His warm, fun, caring personality is irresistible to Rose. He captures her heart by pursuing her relentlessly. Now, that is truly romantic. While I only had my portrait drawn (I was fully clothed :) when I was a teenager, I could relate to Rose's portrait story and portraying Jack as an artist was also very appealing. The sheer intensity of gazing into someone's eyes for that length of time was a memory I will never forget. Artists are creative and Jack shows his creativity in many other ways besides drawing. The flash back effect worked well and the scenes were very realistic. Unlike other movies I have seen, I seriously could not figure out how some of the scenes were made in such a realistic way. I was amazed that none of the stunt men/women really died! Leonardo Di Caprio as Jack and Kate Winslet as Rose made this romantic tragedy all the more compelling. They were so fresh and young and when they meet, you know they will be together, whatever happens. Near, far...wherever they are! A beautiful ending to a forbidden love story which I truly dreaded seeing, yet was glad I finally did. It is possible to fall in love the minute you meet someone...I realize some people think this cannot happen and there was not enough time for these characters to fall in love, but you can meet someone and know that you will love them forever. I met someone once and lost him, I will always love him wherever he may be. In that regard, this movie had great personal meaning to me. You never forget the day you meet your first love and you never forget the last time you see them. Life does go on, but you are never quite the same. Rose's character is true to life and the ending was a nice surprise.

Review: This movie was horrible. The special effects and set design were good, but could in no way salvage the crap that is supposed to pass as a story. L.A. Confidential deserved the best picture Oscar over this movie. END

Summary: More Hollywood Garbage
Review: I can't help but wonder how many people went to see this movie multiple times, and then bought it when it was released on video. Why? Did they enjoy the wooden acting? DiCaprio and Winslet might as well have been reading from the script directly, instead of pretending to act. Well, in his death scene, Leonardo DiCaprio did look dead, so kudos for that, and in her nude scene, Kate Winslet looked naked, so there's some more kudos. However, I don't think these two actors are completely to blame. Whoever wrote the script must accept the majority of it. It's an overdone theme of a girl betrothed to a man she doesn't love, and then meets a beautiful stranger, and they have sex, and then...the ship sinks. Well, I can't say it was moving. The historical accuracy of the events was admirable (And I'm not talking about the romance at this point) but it wasn't enough to make the movie even halfway decent. Of course, as we all know, James Cameron struck a cord in the sentimental and easily pleased hearts of Americans and is laughing all the way to the bank. So I can talk about how worthless the movie is all day, and people who loved the movie will be offended, and James Cameron will still be filthy rich.

Summary: Absolutely wonderful
Review: This movie is another romance that features the classic test of love. It's set on the Titanic in 1912. It begins in a treasure hunt for the "Heart of the Ocean" necklace. They find a drawing of young Rose and it is shown on a TV network. When old Rose comes forward claiming to be the girl in the drawing, the adventure begins. The 'treasure hunters' begin asking her about what happened. She tells them. She was engaged a man by the name of Cal. She didn't love him, but was being forced to marry him anyway to save her family's reputation. She nearly jumps off of the ship, when Jack, a poor 3rd class passenger who won the ticket on board the ship in a poker game, comes and talks her out of it. They later explore their friendship, which turns to love. In the end, the young Rose must decide if she wants to stay with her new love or go with her fiancee. She chooses her new love and nearly loses her life. This is a very good movie. I would recommend it to ANYONE!

Summary: As overrated as it was expensive
Review: Granted, the special effects / sets / costumes were amazing. I first saw it at Silver City Metropolis, and the movie really played up to the super-theater's oversized screen. The second time was a real disappointment -- There was absolutely no substance to back up the visuals. All I could see was poor acting and a laughable script. The movie is impressive, but ultimately forgettable. It's worth viewing once (preferably on a big screen).

Summary: This was way to overrated!
Review: This is the most overrated movie of all time! The romance between Jack and Rose was way too unrealistic. They just met and only knew eachother for four days! They can't be in love. Parts of this movie were way out of the time line. No one who wasn't married made out in 1910's. That was only added so it could get a PG-13 rating. I can't believe all the awards it won or being the best movie ever! There are much better movies, even movies about the titanic. I'll admit, the boat sinking was pretty cool, but there are more interesting stories about boats sinking than one that wasn't supposed to sink. Most of the movie is so boring I almost fell asleep. Thank God it isn't popular anymore!

Summary: ENJOY THIS FABULOUS MOVIE...WITH CAUTION
Review: TITANIC was BEAUTIFUL. The fact that some of the footage was of the actual sunken ship added to the initial impact of the movie. When watching the movie, you feel like you are on TITANIC as you witness the beautiful woodwork, carpet and clothing of that time-period. The acting was overall a success. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet were excellent and you get a general idea of their personalities. However, even though this movie was an amazing technical masterpiece, historically accurate for the most part and well acted, there are some parts to the movie which were completely unnecessary. This includes, nudity, sexuality, and language. For these reasons, I recommend that you have the "fast-forward" button handy during family viewing of this movie. This movie was excellent, but could have been even better if these scenes had been omitted. Enjoy this movie with your family, but keep that remote handy.:)

Summary: The Unsinkable Movie
Review: This movie is my favourite of all time. The special effects were awesome, the costumes brilliant, and the acting unforgettable. There were some good actors, like Kate Winslet, Billy Zane, and Kathy Bates, but some needed improving. Leonardo DiCaprio played the role of Jack pretty well, but some of his lines were totally unoriginal. Overall, James Cameron has done a great job, and this movie is - unsinkable.

Summary: One of the most over-rated films of all time
Review: I still don't see why anyone thinks this is one of the best movies ever. This is a good movie, not a great one. The screenplay was simply ridiculous. It doesn't even look like the inside or outside of a ship. It actually LOOKS like a stage! Leonardo was terrible. He made no attempt at playing a young punk. He simply played himself. He was magnificent in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, but hasn't done anything since worth watching. He's simply a pretty-boy who cannot play this type of role. This film is filled with lots of good actors in pathetic roles. Kathy Bates is one of my favorites, but her character in this was horrible. It represented absolutely nothing, had no substance, and was completely fictional. Fictional...that's what this movie was. From the start, the "foggy" appearance of the movie, which was supposed to give you the illusion of the early teens, just made the movie look like poorly-drawn animation. This was obviously an attempt at making a classic. This is a recipe for disaster. Classics were never meant to be classics. They were meant to be movies. Try making a good movie, and it might become a classic. Try making a classic, and its lack of substance will cause it to break apart into tiny little pieces. The good thing about the movie was the final scene in the water. This was a marvelous job by DiCaprio and Winslet. Unfortunately, this was just another example of the public being sucked into an extremely high-budget, over-publicized pathetic movie.
