Summary: The thing about shark movies....
Review: ...is that you can never tell if it's good without seeing it. It may sound good and turn out to be some cheesy "Jaws" rip-off. I'm going to give it three stars because Jaws 2 was the last semi-decent shark movie. (Deep blue sea was okay.) I sure hope I won't have to watch the same three shark movies over and over again.

Review: I thought Megalodon was the best movie since the first Jaws movie. The acting was very well done, and the special effects was outstanding. Especially interesting was the design of the oil rig.

Summary: What a major let-down. The Shark genre needs help.
Review: In an era of computer generated graphics technology, a movie like "Megalodon" would be sufficient entertainment for shark buffs like myself simply because of an awesome-scary looking Meg, despite poor acting. Case in point, "Shark Hunter". Unfortunately, the production team at Corbitt Digital never bothered to watch any Discovery Channel "Shark Week" episodes in preparation for "Megalodon". What they gave us was a Meg that makes the mechanical shark from "Jaws" look like the real thing. Shark freaks like me will instantly recognize the unconvincing swimming motions and jaw movement during predation. The average movie-viewer will be turned off by the horrible acting. Leighanne Littrell will be lucky to find work in soft-core porn, Robin Sachs should consider never taking a role that doesn't require an alien costume ("Galaxy Quest") and Al Sapienza is laughable as the hardened veteran who has seen everything under the waves. The story is not a bad one; an almost original twist to the shark-genre, but the terrible graphics and acting place "Megalodon" in the ever-increasing pile of shark flics that try to capture the magic of "Jaws". "Deep Blue Sea" was the last shark movie that flirted with brilliance, and came very close,but "Megalodon" just might make the genre extinct like Megs. Sad days are ahead, my fellow shark lovers.
