Rating: Summary: Excellent Hip Hop Movie A Must See for Inspiring Rappers Review: This one of the best hip hop movies I have every seen. If you our anyone that you know want's to be a rapper they must see this movie. I loved they way the director mixed the documentary footage with the drama story. Very, very, orginial, it's not a big budget movie but the knowledge dropped in Hip Hop 2000 is very real and you will be glued to the screen if you are a real hip hop head.I give this movie 5 stars because if it was produced by a major studio you will not get the real truth period.

Rating: Summary: Title doesn't do film justice Review: Well, if you think you are a hip hop head or want to break into the industry, or want to better understand the little misguided hip hop head in your family, BUY, don't RENT, BUY this film! Awful editing and soundstage problems get in the way of this incredibly honest, accurate film. You know it came "up from the bricks" and is authentic because its filmed like a documentary with low production values, but high information content and "true to the game" grittiness. The real highlights are ICE T, who kicks pimp game like NO ONE else and Rudy Ray Moore, Dolemite in the flesh! If you want an education in the industry and the truth about what making records and "getting put on" is all about look no further than ICE T's story. His words on pimps and ho's as represented by the record industry and artists respectively are as far as you need to go. And you can't get higher entertainment value if you tried. The only thing that could have improved on this film, creatively, would have been an equally in-depth look at the east coast hip hoppers. As much as I give love to the 2000 Crows'assertion that they rep real hip hop, you gotta give love to NYC as the birthplace of the genre and the place where the heartbeat still lives. Even so, I give the Crows props for being out there and real and recognizing hip hop's place in a world of second and third rate wannabe gangsta rappers.
Rating: Summary: Do not buy this...trust me... Review: Well...this is one of tha worst hip hop movies ever, and the title Hip Hop 2000 really tricked me into buying this DVD. It's a low, low, MAN so LOW quality on image and sound, you really wonder why this is released internationally. The editing is really, really poor to, heard me. ICE T is maby a big personality in the world of hip hop, but he got no skills and ain't keepin' it real for nuthin. The interviews are a little interesting, a little, but apart from it, this is a movie which purpose (giving us a look inside the underground world of hiphop, and how [stuff] really goes down) has really failed. I got it....and regret it. Don't do the same thing.
