Summary: Interesting peek into a group of kid's lives
Review: I think that this movie was interesting on the basis of that this is what some kids, not all by any means, but some, go through everyday. I think that this movie is very accurate in portraying the lives of these few select "kids" with adult issues and problems.

I highly recomend this movie

Summary: Reality the way it is, not the way we want to see it.
Review: "Kids" is an outstanding work of art and poetry. Reality is not always a pretty thing, and this movie shows us that. The actions and situations portrayed in "Kids" are true to life, not exaggerating anything. "Kids" gives us an insight into the part of our society that we, as grownups, have come to look away from and ignore. This is how our kids grow up in the city and the suburbs. At some point in the lives of our children, they will run into this kind of adolesent lifestyle, and we as parents need to be aware of the trials and tribulations that our kids must go through to reach adulthood in these modern days. Children are growing up faster and faster, we wonder why; and then Clark shows us the reality that we have shut our eyes to since the days of our own childhood and wakes us up to what is really going on. We don't want to see it, but it is definately there. An excellent movie that everyone should watch and learn from.

Summary: The weather will not change
Review: This movie is good. It is not as good as Gummo. Although the soundtrack does have the song "Good morning, Captain." I like this song.

Summary: best movie i've seen.need more like it!!
Review: I LOVED THIS MOVIE!! IT SAYS WHATS REALLY GOING ON, NOT WHAT SHOULD BE GOING ON. I WISH THERE WERE MORE MOVIES LIKE IT

Summary: AIDS will keep us together
Review: On one level this movie was extremely realistic;an almost docu-drama of Brooklyn life and death. And as a piece of film-making very good and very believable. But on an old-fashioned level where characters draw our sympathies through their daily conflicts this was horrible. There were no redeeming qualities at all especially the guys.I felt on one level we were almost better off to have these kids eventually get AIDS.

Summary: THE WORST!
Review: I am not talking about the plot, I am not talking about the acting. This movie is UTTERLY disgusting! I don't understand how a person with a normal level of intelligence can observe the badly played out scenes from the life of totally degraded low lives with no moral values whatsoever. And those lowlives are presented in a somewhat positive, sympathetic manner...(???!!!) This is probably the worst movie I've ever seen in my life!

Summary: one of the most overrated, pretentious films of the decade.
Review: One day, my generation is going to get fed up with seeing themselves presented in films like this. "Kids" is the most frustrating film I've seen, and it's not because of the content. My frustration lies in the one-sided, asinine approach that Larry Clark used when filming this. Moreover, the movie has a lack of consciousness, and its the lack of a voice of reason that makes it all the more hard to stomach.

This is not "educational", "a masterpiece", "a wake-up call to the world", "a portrait of adolescent angst", or even "one of the best movies ever made." Those of you who say it really shows what it's like to be a teen are bullshi++ing; if you lived a life of debauchery and hedonism as shown in the film, it's highly unlikely that you would have the mental capacity to connect to amazon.com and share your thoughts. I've known people that grew up in NYC, from South Bronx to Crown Heights to Mount Vernon: kids my age that actually faced and conquered many of the hardships in the film. The vast majority of them feel the same way I do about this film.

By far, the biggest sin that the film is guilty of is overgeneralization. Whether it intended to or not, the film leaves the impression that this is behavior typical of teenagers. Of course, if I were to generalize all police officers as racist SOBs based on the incident where NYPD officers shot an unarmed Haitian immigrant 41 times, I'd look pretty foolish.

The ambition was there - there's no denying that. But somewhere along the way, true-to-life storytelling was sacraficed for shock value. Ernest Dickerson's 1992 film "Juice" was a much more truthful tale about inner-city youth in NYC than this film. I'd highly recommend that film instead of this hollow morality tale pretending to be a meaningful reality-based drama.

Summary: IT'S ABOUT TIME SOMEONE MADE THE RIGHT KIND OF MOVIE
Review: The movie kids is my all time favorite movie, I've seen it 34 times adn I still bought it. The way they made the movie was true, I used to skate adn things like gang violence occurred. It educates u about sex and AIDS. Made me cry.
