Summary: Fantastic... Compelling... breath taking... Damatic
Review: When I rented this movie I did't believe it to be all that great, but as I watched it, it took my breath away. The actors did a spended job in portaying the lifes of the Characters. This is a movie I would recomend to anyone and defintley a movie I want to own. I haven't seen another movie that completely portrays the life the Queen.

Summary: This movie is divine.
Review: This movie is fantastic. The scenery is beautiful and the storyline is exciting. The actors are great especially Billy Zane. His perofmance is as perfect as it was in Titanic. Timothy Dalton's acting is at its best in Cleopatra. The true star though is Leanor Varela. She is smart, sexy, provacative, and a much better Cleopatra than Elizabeth Taylor(and she actually looks Egyptian). This is one of the best movies about Cleopatra and Egypt ever.

Summary: Okay but a bit trashy NOT a documentary
Review: Just to make one thing clear this was not a documentary it was a film made purely for entetainment. No buddy critized Gone With the Wind for leaving out a few of Scareltts children. I would not watch this if I wanted historical info on Cleopatra but for a few hours of enjoyment why not some of it is true.

Summary: I LOVED IT!
Review: I love this movie so much! Everything makes you feel as if your actually in Egypt! I'm reading 'the memoris of cleopatra' and its even better then the movie but i enjoy watching the movie and cry everytime! totally reccomend the book as well

Summary: Hype
Review: The scenery was okay (the version with Elizabeth Taylor looked a lot less like computers and a lot more real) but Billy Zane's presence was the best part. Cleopatra was acted out less like the great queen Cleopatra and more like...

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The sets were eye-candy, but historical accuracy???
Review: I gave this movie 4 stars because of the elaborte sets and costumes. It was a great movie as far as a televistion mini-series goes and it held my interest, however, it was severely lacking historical accuracy. I was a bit disappointed that they did not mention, nor show Cleopatra's children with Marc Antony. Over all, it was a good movie and I will probably buy the video when it is released.

Summary: Brilliant to say the least...
Review: Ok, the movie had its ups and downs (e.g. the storyline wasn't 100% accurate), but how could you make a movie like this accurate in only 2 parts? Further more, movies aren't meant to be 100% accurate for the soul purpose of bringing in some fantasy in a story such as this.

The actors played their roles brilliantly, the settings were magnificent, and the music was absolutely unbelievable. I produce music, so therefore am very critical when it comes to music in films. But, Cleopatra had the best music I've ever heard in any 2 part series. Buy it, watch it, and enjoy!

Summary: The asp is the hero of this turkey
Review: I loved the Cleopatra's that were done by Claudette Colbert and Elizabeth Taylor. So when I heard they were doing a remake, I decided to see if it was any good. Needless to say the only thing more wooden than the acting was the ships in the water. I gave it one star because Timothy Dalton looked good in his uniform. Billy Zane is no Richard Burton. Half the time he acted like he tied one on a little too much the night before. As for Leonor Valera, she should take more acting classes before she tackles another leading part. I noticed that they publisized the romance between Zane and Valera constantly. Was this to compare them with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton? As far as I am concerned there is only one Cleopatra and Marc Antony and that is Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Claudette Colbert is a very close second as Cleopatra. After all these centuries, let Cleopatra, Marc Antony, and Julius Caesar rest in peace, we should take this turkey and bury it so deep no one will ever find it.

Summary: two thumbs up, informative and entertaining!!!
Review: This movie was so interesting and much better since i saw the movie before reading the book. The movies are always disappointing compared to the book. Since they only had a few hours they did a really good job and Timothy Dalton and Billy Zane are fine! They make it worth it. I recomend this movie to anyone who likes an interesting story with good acting.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Watch it for Billy Zane, but read the book
Review: Leonor (sp?) Varela's acting was pretty excruciating at the beginning but I got used to it (or she got better) as the film went on. she certainly did look the part of an Egyptian queen, I will give her that. I am not a big fan of Dalton's - I think Caeser could have been cast better but Billly Zane as Marc Antony ... ooh la la!The sets and costuming are also breathtaking.

Margerat George's books are fabulous - read the book for the better story and if there are any directors out there, don't make the books for TV anymore - make them a real movie and spend the money to get talent.
