Rating: Summary: Its just ....ok Review: The first "Cruel Intentions" was highly underrated. There was a strong chemistry within the cast (obviously since Reese & Ryan married!) and the characters weren't one dimensional. Even evil Kathryn was capable of pain that Sarah Michelle Gellar managed to convey in brief moments which was perfect for that character. But Cassidy for CI3 falls way short of being three dimensional. She's just cruel for the whole film and showed no weakness. Everyone has a weakness. However, I will say that the character Patrick somewhat intrigued me. He went beyond the game of cruelty and ...well, I won't give away what happens, but I was very disturbed by it. As for Kerr, he was alright. Its not his fault his character was kind of dull. Anyway, the film is "ok". Its worth watching if you run into it on cable, but I wouldn't buy the movie.
Rating: Summary: It keeps up with what's expected... Review: When compared to the second movie I would have to say that this one is better. The movie certainly brings the 'game' to a whole new level. I do wish that the movie could have been a bit longer than about an hour and a half and there were a few places that were unfinished. But the full circle was enough for me to want another movie. For those who do not know much about the Cruel Intentions movies, this is the story line order: Cruel Intentions 2, Cruel Intentions, then Cruel Intentions 3. I would recomend that you watch them in the original order but keep in mind that the second movie takes place before the first one and helps explain why some of the people act the way they do.
Rating: Summary: A pleasant surprise Review: When I found out that a second sequel to Cruel Intentions, which remains a favorite of mine, was in the works, I prepared myself for the worst. Surprisingly, Cruel Intentions 3 lives up to the standard set by the original. Having seen Cruel Intentions 2 several times and disliking it more and more with each viewing, I really wasn't expecting much out of the third chapter. However, I actually found myself enjoying the twists, turns, and outrageousness it provided. The basic plot of this film is the same as the previous two, but in a new setting with new characters. Kristina Anapau stars as Cassidy Merteuil, the cousin of Sarah Michelle Gellar's character in the first Cruel Intentions, a wealthy snob attending a private college in Santa Barbara, California. She toys with the men there, especially Jason (Kerr Smith, "Dawson's Creek"), who's been waiting to sleep with her for over a year. The story begins with Jason betting Cassidy that she can't sleep with an unpopular boy with whom Jason shares a room. She accepts the bet, and the plot twists begin. The unpopular boy drops his facade and reveals himself to be much like Cassidy and Jason: seductive, dishonest, and conniving. Soon the three are in league together to conquer whoever tickles their fancy. The plot itself is much stronger than the second installment, which was basically a rip-off the first (including much of the same dialogue). It contains several twists and interesting characters, though not all could be believed easily. Parts feel rushed, others seem to drag; some plot points could've been reworked a little more to make it flow better. What surprised me most was the quality of acting. Being that this film was released direct-to-video, I was expecting less than stellar performances. But the leading actors carried their roles very well. Some standout performances came from Kristina Anapau and Kerr Smith, both of whom met the bar raised by Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe. Overall, I think Cruel Intentions 3 is worth renting at the very least. If you're a fan of the franchise, you may want to consider purchasing it. It's a short, entertaining film that may surprise you as it did me.

Rating: Summary: Soooooo bad !!!!! Review: Yesterday, i was walking in a DVD shop when i run into this piece. As i had enjoyed the first movie quite a lot (and despite of the second one which was awful) i decided to buy Cruel Intentions 3. Back home, i sat on my coach and started to watch... After 5 minutes, i was already wondering why on earth i had spent all that money on such a rubbish.
This movie has nothing common with the first one or the second one. It's the story of Katherine Merteuil's cousin, Cassidy, which doesn't have the class of Katherine and dresses more like a hooker, and of a friend of hers, Jason (played by Kerr Smith, seen in Dawson). Bye bye the luxurious mansions and appartments in New York and the picnics in Central Park... The story is here set in California, under the palms. The characters are sticky, insipid and unclassy, they've not been designed to be apreciated by the viewers. The movie goes in every direction and does not enjoy at all. There's no surprise at all, everything is clear from the beginning.
It's the very first time i'm disapointed by a DVD i buy (and i have quite a lot...).
Do NOT buy this ! It's worth nothing !!!!!
