Summary: Wow! Really Quite Good!
Review: I saw this movie yesterday, thinking I could just slot it in with the rest of the slightly dumb teen movies out there. (Can i help it if I enjoy some of those movies?)But the butterfly effect suprised me by being smart, quirky, and overall pretty 'effective'.

It was a lot of fun watching Kutcher's character mess around with time, and seeing how one action can change the lives of so many people.

There were some nonsensical loopholes in the film, which i'll refrain from going into- I don't want to spoil anything, but overall it was pretty tight and a lot of fun to watch.

*BONUS* if you're an Ashton Kutcher fan, he's a pretty big cutie in this movie!!!

I recommend it!

Summary: Life's little choices...
Review: When I first saw the previews I was pretty excited to go see The Butterfly Effect. Unfortunately, I then read some very scathing reviews (though I should know better than to ever trust the LA Weekly). Still, my interest got the best of me.

This is an excellent movie. It touches it all, from dysfunctional familes to relativistic time, from childhood fears (and our adult worse fears) to a mature understanding and commitment to love. Real fuel for a late night conversation.

At each step of the way, this movie's about choices - the one's we would make in the past, could we return with the mind of an adult and the determination to save our friends. Could you really make the future better without ruining something else? If you had to make the decision to sacrifice just one person's happiness, who would it be? If you had the power to change the past, at what point would you stop using it?

5 solid stars.

Summary: DEEP
Review: This film went deep. Ashton Kutcher stars. This is a long stretch from his "That 70's Show" alter-ego, and he handles it like a champ. He is a beautiful man.

This film is not for the squeamish--be prepared. It is kick-you-in-the-face potent, intense, and graphic all at once, and from the first frame to the last. In the end you are guaranteed to have an intimate understanding of this "butterfly effect".

Go and see this film.

Summary: shock and awe attack
Review: After reading reviews about how some scenes are shown multiple times, I thought this movie might get boring halfway through, but it doesn't. The repeated scenes are often emotionally intense; so the pace remains excellent for those who don't mind movies with violence, foul language, and other socially unacceptable behaviors. This film is definitely NOT for children. The movie has a slightly sci-fi/horror based nature to it, so this movie isn't for those who need every last detail to be 100% realistic. The main theme of the movie seems to be that life is about trade-offs. It's like playing rock-paper-scissors. Even if one could change the past, there is a weakness associated with every choice. As a result, the main character eventually learns that truly loving a girl requires being socially responsible in both his family life and her family life, but this means sacrificing his perfect fantasy...

Summary: Amazing movie.
Review: I actually saw this movie twice. It was done so well. I am a big fan of time movies and the past few that have come out recently(TimeLine and The Time Machine) have been disappointments. The Butterfly Effect is one of my favorite movies. Good job to all who worked on this film. To the critcs who bashed it....try not roughing up a film just because Ashton is in it. You people do not know how to enjoy a movie.

Summary: What If You Could Go Back!!!
Review: As a boy Kutcher has a series of blackouts that occur during stressful or dangerous points in his life. As he ages the memories begin to return and he also finds a way to relive those experiences and change hem. The chaos theory claims that a butterfly's wing beating in Beijing can cause a typhoon in the Atlantic. As he changes one little thing from his past, it causes a chain of events to big for him to handle. I thought this movie was pretty good it kept you guessing a lot of the time. It seemed like anything that could have went wrong did. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes suspenseful and kind of eerie movies.

Summary: Mad good movie!
Review: Despite all the negative reviews that THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT has recieved, I decided to check it out last night, and in my opinion, the critics don't know what they're talking about. This is one good movie! It never becomes boring or stupid, and it always keeps the viewer to suspense as to what will happen next. By the way, Kutcher CAN act! So, definately don't pass this up, don't let the critics fool you, see it soon!

Summary: Family in the flick, no credit given.
Review: I must say this movie was strange and the only reason I went to see it was that my younger Brother was cast as an extra. (prison scene, yes they are real imates from Monroe washinton in this film) I wanted to see if his scenes were in the film. They were, in fact he got to throw a wad of paper at Ashton Kutcher charater and yell 'hey you maggot...' or other words. He was only in the lunchroom sence, the one drinking the milk (table behind Ashton left shoulder), and in the main yard there is a group of imates (real ones) staring at the 'new guy'.

Overall if you have kids, the scene with the children is quite distrubing. Not that they show anything, the suggest that young kids (<12) had a sexual encounter.

If you can stand flash backs, and F!bombs go see this movie..

Summary: The Critics panned it, but they can shove it
Review: Alright first off, many critics have hated this film for some reason or another. Who knows, maybe they think it's too shocking, or that it's cliched and hackneyed, but honestly this is one of the best movies i've seen in a long long time. It's not for everyone i will admit, if you don't think outside the box you won't get this at all, but if you're a deep thinker and love to think what if? than this movie is right up your alley. The acting is superb, and the visual effects are mesmerizing, i can't wait for this to come out on dvd, it's a great story, and it teaches a lesson that sometimes we have to let go of the past and look forward to making the future better. To sum it up, dark, disturbing, and teaches an important lesson about life in general...I loved it.
