Summary: A truly moving film
Review: Good Will Hunting is, by far, one of the best films that I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Damon and Affleck are a great duo, not to mention Robin Williams! This film is very down to earth and was very easy for me to relate to. I grew up in South Boston, and also fell in love once but would let the the girl into my heart. Every piece of this film, from the directing to the acting was marvelous. This should have been "Film of the Year". I liked Titanic but come on!! If you have not seen it yet, SEE IT, you will not forget this film and it's powerful message.

Summary: Gus Van Sant should be ashamed
Review: Gus Van Sant has hit a new low. After directing To Die For, Drugstore Cowboy, and some other AMAZING films I can believe he had anything to do with this film, but shortly before he did this he directed a Hanson video so what should I expect. Good Will Hunting is the most worthless film I've seen since Forest Gump. However, this is not the time or the place for me to write about why Tom Hanks is dreadful. Let's start with the basic problems of this film-Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. They were both wonderful in School Ties and Affleck's roles in Chasing Amy, and Mall Rats are terrific, but it's painfully obvious that they shouldn't write movies. Matt's character is trash-yes, I know he had a hard life-and finally good things start happening to him-free school, great job offers, and one of the most beautiful women(Minnie Driver) in the world falls in love with him! So what's the problem? Life's tough I guess! How can anyone feel anything for the characters in this film? Simply, they seem to be people that would rather stay in there own private traps and live life uber deppressed...how can people care about characters that are getting into fights with other low-life characters and making no attempt to let go of the past and LIVE? Thanks for reading my rant! Enjoy! Some movies that are worthy of an Academy Award-City of Lost Children, Sunset Blvd, Wild At Heart, Bullet in the Head, and Wong-fei hung!

Summary: It has something we can all relate to...
Review: This heart of this movie was that love is so hard to accept, for everyone, not just mathematical geniuses with photographic memories who were abused at birth. Will's background and abilities just made the story more dramatic, more "hollywood." But think about your own life and people you know. How many have been able to accept love in any form without questioning it or feeling scared or doubting? That is what is universal about this movie. I really identified with this part of it. And the scene where Skylar asks Will to go to California is tense and powerful. He really wants to let love in, but he can't because it would be too scary. The fact that class issues infect (almost) all the relationships in the story and the excellent characterization (i.e. Lambeau's so insecure on the inside that he has to use his math skills to get women; undergraduates at that) makes it work. I loved it and will watch it over and over again.

Summary: THE BEST FILM OF '97
Review: This is the one that should have taken Best Picture at the Oscars, not James Cameron's soggy TITANIC!! Consider the screenplay award as the "Best-Picture-consolation" prize. Same scenario for SLING BLADE, THE PIANO, and PULP FICTION. Anyway, wonderful performances by all, especially supporters Robin Williams (who was SLIGHTLY low-key) and Ben Affleck. Great directing by music video director/still photographer/ screenwriter Van Sant. Tight script by stars Affleck and Damon. One of those rare gems of moviemaking. SEE IT!

Summary: it was one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life
Review: Ben Affleck was awesome and so was Matt Damon. and I could not believe that Robin Williams made up alot of his speeches during the making of the video just right off hand. I loved it!

Summary: Heart-warming.
Review: This is a truly warming story. Definitely Matt Damon at his best. And - wow, Robin Williams, not in a comedy? You have to be kidding me! Anyway, Will Hunting (Matt Damon : Rounders, School Ties) has had a tough life. Leaving his parents, he goes in search of a counsellor and finds the perfect person (Robin Williams : Flubber, Jack) who teaches Will more about life than he will ever know. Also, this film is full of tragedy a bit, when girlfriend of Will's (Minnie Driver : Cousin Bette, Hard Rain) get's dumped by, well duh, Will it will truly bring tears to your eyes. A story with a true life. I recommend it truly. Buy it!

Summary: I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY ABOUT THIS MOVIE........
Review: FOR STARTERS IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST TOUCHING, HEART WARMING, SAD, AND YET HAPPY MOVIES I'VE EVER SEEN. IT IS DEFFINITLY MY FAVORITE. WHENI SEE TWO YOUNG FRIENDS WIN AN AWARD FOR A JOB WELL DONE IT MAKES ME FEEL JOY FILLED INSIDE. I THINK THEY DESERVED THEIR SUCCESS. EVERY AWARD, EVERY NICE COMMENT, AND EVERY DOLLAR THEY EARNED. I LOVE TO SEE SUCH EMOTION AND THOUGHT GOING INTO A MOVIE. IT WAS MUCH BETTER THAN ANY FAST PACED, EMOTIONLESS GOBOLDIGOOK YOU USUALLY SEE ON TV AND IN THE MOVIE THEATRES. I THINK THIS IS A WELL THOUGHT OUT, WELL PLOTTED, CHARIZMATIC MOVIE, THAT DESERVED MORE AWARDS THAN IT GOT. THAT'S IT!
