Summary: Oscar worthy In every sense
Review: With out a question, Cher should have been nomainted and possibly won the oscar for her role in "MASK". Cher give's the perforamce of her carrer as Rusty, and with compansion and a tough as nail attiude she shows the love this woman had for her son. This release restores 2 delted scenes from the movie and couldn't be happier to have them after all these years. If you have not seen this movie, Do it now..you won't be sorry.

Summary: It touched me
Review: Wonderful performances abound in this touching drama that explores the nature of what true beauty is.

Rocky (Eric Stoltz) might seem like your typical run-of-the-mill teenager. He likes rock music, girls, and hanging out with friends down at the soda fountain. Yet it doesn't take long for the viewer to realize that Rocky is a teen that is most certainly not ordinary. Rocky's attempt at a normal existence is permanently hindered by scarring -- and, yes, even scary -- voluntary disfigurations done to the body of his megalomaniacal mother (Cher, once again playing herself). At first Rocky is teased for having a "MILF," but this light-hearted teasing soon gives way to pity and then disgust by everyone except for his most perverted of friends. "Mom" rapidly attempts to meet her stretch mark-leaving son in age somewhere around his upcoming senior year in high school or freshman year at the local community college tops. Lending further drama to the situation is veteran scumbag character actor Sam Elliott, who plays a sex offender who takes quite a liking to Rocky's "old enough older sister" his first few days after getting paroled. Little does he know that Cher is actually a patient at the cosmetic surgery clinic she regularly visits and not a Girl Scout candy striper as she had claimed. How she wriggles away without Elliott discovering the rapid growth of peach fuzz behind her ears is perhaps the film's most dramatic moment. And, oh yeah, Laura Dern plays some blind girl.

There is a lesson to be learned from all of this regarding the nature of beauty, how much it costs, and whether or not there are payment plans available for people like you and me. Truly great drama for the whole family, but little ones should watch this in the comfort and care of their parents should Cher's unholy transformation scare them in any way.
