Summary: David Hamilton style erotica only better!
Review: A famous writer returns home from war. Embittered over his wounds and tormented by visions of his former lover, thoughts of suicide seem to be the only solution.....but then she happens, Katya, a young innocent girl on the brink of exploring her own sexuality. His love for her grows into an obsession. that, at first, renews his life! Heavily influenced by David Hamilton's style of filmmaking

Summary: Very Sensitive erotica for the conniseur
Review: A writer returns home from World War I. He has developed a very bad case of post traumatic stress disorder. His genitalia was also blown away during the war. He contemplates suicide, but becomes interested in the 12 year old daughter of the innkeepers where he is recuperating. They don't seem to mind that he is spending so much time with her. He becomes deeply infatuated with her, but can't physically consumate any kind of relationship with her. She brightens his day, but her sexuality is just beginning to bud. There several full frontal nude scenes. When she begins to prefer a male closer to her age than the writer, the finality of the plot is set.

Summary: Marginal movie - horrible transfer
Review: Made in 1978, this Italian-made "art" movie has elements of "Pretty Baby" and "Lolita". Basically, a troubled, wounded WWI vet befriends and becomes infatuated with a young girl. The American version has chopped out 9 minutes of (I can only imagine) scenes of child nudity/sexuality, but includes some adult nudity and sex scenes.

Although the extensive missing scenes (15% of movie) probably would make it a much better movie, the real bad part is...the packaging is false - it most certainly IS NOT digitally remastered. It has many artifacts, glitches, waves and scratches, and is as grainy as the VHS I was trying to replace. It's full-screen, but even so, the edges are cut off during the opening credits. Also the "enhanced audio" must mean it was so bad to start with that they had to pump it up or something. It sounds like a circus calliope in parts.

Oh, yeah, it's stiffly acted and poorly dubbed, and has a really bad score, too.

No extras. No trailer. No booklet. Nada. Should be in the bargain bin with a bargain bin price.

Summary: so-so
Review: This version is 9 minutes shorter than the Italian version, and typical of these kind of european films, it is poorly dubbed into english.

It has an interesting story line, and Katya Berger is the beautiful young temptress, but you don't see as much of her as you might like. You would be better off trying to get a copy of "Nana" where a more mature Katya Berger is revealed.

Summary: Ok, but lacking.
Review: This video seemed to be lacking in the most sensitive areas. It needed to be improved before it was made public.

Summary: old dude digs preteen
Review: WWI vet returned home with deep scars and considered ending his life. Then he met his housekeepers' 12-year-old niece and, struck by her beauty and innocence, found a new reason to live. Her very presence is his salvation. They became friends, but she begins to notice boys and her own new-found sexuality. This is less a story driven film than a study in our human need for love and purpose.

A possible eyeraiser is casting an actual 12-yr-old (stunning Katya Berger) as the child. Dispite the subject matter, this film is not lewd. There is one brief scene with Ms. Berger topless. Unfortunately, the 77 minutes of running time goes by too fast and we want to see more of her.
