Summary: You Must see this movie
Review: A good friend of mine called me and told me about movie years ago. "it remninded me of all of us kids when we were growing up"! They even use the same phrases we did when we were kids!! (Im 46) I have seen Stand by me about 30-40 times now, and I enjoy it just as much now, as I did when I first saw it.
Yeah, the language can be vulgar, but most kids talked that way away from their parents. :) I have recommended this movie to many of my younger nephews and they all enjoy it. If you have ever found yourself wondering "whatever happened to...? , or
remember when we used to ....? , then by all means. see this movie, you will not be sorry. Well acted, a great cast and the music is phenomenal. To this day, I still get a tear in my eye whenever I hear the opening chords to Ben E. Kings' Stand By Me!
Richard Dreyfus does a great job of narrating, and River Phoenix and Wil Wheaton are great together,along with Corey Feldman and Jerry O'Connell. Buy this movie and enjoy it again and again !!!

Summary: If you like a true story feel, lots'a emotion this is for u
Review: I am 27 yrs old and watched this in my teens and it is still one of my favorites. Many people complain of the amount of profanity but as a child their age I used that same profanity and if you look at your own childhood you will realize how much a potty mouth we all had. since this movie was created in the 80's its market was for people alive today. So if your concerned about wether the amount of profanity was used in the time period isn't relevent its about your childhood. Place yourself in thier shoes and put your childhood friends faces on them and live it. Its touching to see the ending and it makes you miss your friends of yesteryear. I hope you enjoy the movie. If your open minded and love a truelife like story then you will enjoy it over and over again. If your looking for a happy ending dont get this movie you will be disapointed.

Summary: Great Directing, Great Acting
Review: Rob Reiner is incredible. This film is a must see because it showcases his abilities to direct under difficult circumstances. Working with a cast of teen and preteen can not be the easiest thing to do and all indications are that he pulled it off with ease through incredible casting of child actors.Wil Wheaton is very impressive as Gordie, a boy who is ignored by his parents because he is different and must be challenged by his best friend, Chris. Chris is played by River Phoenix and the acting job by River is unquestionably Oscar-worthy. Few child performances are nearly as perfectly done as River's (others that come to mind are Mac Culkin in Home Alone and Haley Joel Osment in The Sixth Sense), but I believe his stands above even those. Keifer Sutherland plays the antagonist very well... the only misses in the cast may be a couple of the minor players in the older gang. The younger gang of Gordie, Chris, Teddy, and Vern is well written due to their many differences and the writer/director's (Stephen King/Rob Reiner) willingness to display a full range of emotions in all of them. Richard Dreyfuss funtions well as the narrarator. Stand by Me is one of my two favorite movies of all time and is a definite must see.

Review: hi (...) i am 13 years old i love ythe film stand by me it tells a story that is to good to be true the adventure of it is unbelievable and the friendship between them i havnt come across only a couple off days ago i found out that river pheonix was dead i am agreat fan and i didnt know hw was dead for over 8 years sad!well back to the film you will never get boared off it as it is the most coseiest film ever aND IVE SEEN IT MORE THAN ENYONE IN THE WORLD I THINK SO ANYWAY .
i wish i had friends like the ones in the film but i have realised the dont come around that easy or even exist i wish there were more off that persionality makes being a kid more interesting with your best mates. (...)

I was impressed very much by the words the hero said: "my friend at this time was the best friend of my whole life". This movie is a movie made to consider friendship with a friend. It is surely a movie you should see at once. Have you found your best friend in life yet?

Review: -If you were to take these four boys, modernize them, animate them, and stick them in a small, snow covered town in the mountains, what would you have?- -Stand by Me is the ultimate reflection of the adventures that I would have loved to experience when I was young. I have many tales now from when I was a child, but looking back none would have been able to hold a candle to this.- -Going on a journey through the unknown, with your parent's believing you are somewhere else, to find the body of a young boy your age? Bliss.- -Atleast at that age. Now, as an adult we must ignore our childlike instinct of exploration. How unfortunate for us.- -While hiding under his front porch, digging for pennies that he had lost nine month's earlier, one of the boys named Vern overhears a conversation about a body. THE body. The body of a boy his own age that had mysteriously disappeared!- -His feet can't move fast enough as he runs to tell his friends of what he had just heard. Facing everything in their lives, they gather their stuff and head off into the unknown. Perhaps it was Corey Feldman, but Stand by Me reminds me of Goonies without the skeletons and booby traps.- -During the journey it is soon obvious that what they are after isn't the body, but an answer to mend the fragmented pieces of their past's. If you have had to deal with these problem's you will definately be able to relate.- (All of these four boys grew to be men in many films. River Pheonix and Corey Feldman both worked for Spielberg on Indiana Jones and the Last Cruisade, and Goonies. Whil Wheaton went on to do the popular Star Trek: The Next Generation. Jerry O' Connell has done film's such as Mission to Mars, and Scream 2.) -Stand By Me paint's a picture of childhood in all of it's horror's and triumph's, capturing the uncertain time before girl's and becoming men. It show's the one last adventure that we all experienced, and makes me remember the days I had.- S.A.O.S. "We may never have friend's like we did in those days."

Stand by me is the best movie anyone has probably ever seen! It gives you great laughs man, and some tears. This movie had changed my life man! It showed me that I am not alone, nobody is. Corey Feldman was great, he's my favorite 80's actor. He played in some pretty good movies. River Phoenuix was breathtaking, it sucks that he is dead now. Will Wheaton will give you tears. Jerry o" Connell, well he was pretty good, a big sissy though. If you want a really good dvd, please get the special edition, I ordered it on this page, and it was great.
I hope that you will get it!

Review: Stand by me is a great movie, Will Wheaton,River Phoneix,Corey Feldman, and Jerry o Connell. Corey Feldman is great in it. The dvd special edition is spectacular! The music video is great. If you don't know what to get on dvd, well get the special editoin to Stand by me!!!!!!!! You will not regret it!!!!
