Review: I've seen every River Phoenix movie there is and this and also My Own Private Idiho are the best. this was definately made for girls, since Cory Feldman, Wil Weaton and (the not so hot at that stage of his life) Jerry O'Connell star along side with the ever so hot River. Not only is this movie filled with babes, it's a great film too. This, (as all my friends know) is my fav flick and I don't think i'll ever get tierd of it. A definate must see movie, (recommended rental period: when you've got the girlies over for a cry, or babe fest!)

Review: I seem to be in the minority, but I thought this was absolutely one of the worst movies I've ever seen; sloppy with the sort of sentimentality that passes for art these days, it was predictable and contrived. Although you'll be tempted to watch it with pubescent kids (being a rite of passage movie, supposedly), be aware that you will be inundated with gratuitous profanity; not a line is uttered without adornment by the "s" or "f" word (the latter not even historically accurate, since no one said "f" in the '50s). Amid all the unpleasantness, there's a particularly unpleasant mass vomiting scene (this is our comic relief, if you wish to react like a savvy movie-goer by snickering appreciatively at this point in the movie). I cringed the entire two hours. It's beyond me how the critics "stood by" this quacker, unless it was out of misplaced affection for the fledgling director. Choose another.

Review: i think that this was the best movie in a long time. it was just the dead body and the leeches that really bugged me. the movie was sad, funny, and sweet. i recommend this movie. the acting was great too.

Summary: A much underrated movie about true friendship
Review: River Phoenix was amazing as Chris Chambers in this 1986 movie. 4 boys go on a hunt for a dead body and go through hard and trying times. It shows the true meaning of friendship when they are all there for eachother. It contains swearing but no violence or nudity which makes me appreciate this film even more. It is a story about life and really makes you stop and think of your own. Outstanding cast including Wil Wheaton, Kiefer Sutherland, Corey Feldman and Jerry O'Connell. River Phoenix was my favorite, that is one reason I enjoyed it so much. I dont recall what the critics rated it, but it is well worth renting today!!!!
