Summary: Simply a master Piece!
Review: An execelent movie. It really made me felt many emotions at the same time.It was beautifully done and all the scenes were espectacular.I like this movie for many reasons but the main reason was because it made me remaind me of myself when I use to have friends just like that.I really can't describe this movie just by writing about it,it needs more than that.I think they made a very good job,not just the actors but all the people who participated in the creation of this master piece.I totally recomend it.By the way,the scene that I like the most is when Wil take the gun to save River. It was just so touching and controversial.5 stars to this master piece, probably the best in its kind.It really has an good message and I really undersatand it just like all of you did.

Review: I was nine years old the first time I saw this movie. It had a major impact on me, even then. I was a bit young to comprehend everything, but in eleven years, I think it's safe to say that I pretty much understand the whole thing. Stephen King has a knack for writing great, memorable characters and profanely funny dialogue. Anyone who has ever read "The Body" can tell you that this movie could not have been done better. The story, while good, is mostly irrelevant. This one is mostly a character study, and a very entertaining one at that. The tone and mood are absolutely perfect. The music and score are also a force to be reckoned with. All in all, I would have to say that this is my 2nd favorite movie of all time.

I first bought this on video about a decade ago. Over the years, I guess I have owned maybe three video copies of this and I figured I should probably own the DVD by now. I am so glad that I waited for this Special Edition. There is a great commentary, the music video, trailers, and a Featurette with most of the cast, Stephen King, and Rob Reiner. It was really great to see the cast all together again (with the exception of River Phoenix) and just how much everyone has changed in fifteen years. I whole-heartedly reccommend this to any fan of the movie. It is one of the best Dvd's I have ever bought.

Review: This is probably one of the greatest movies of all time, not because of its plot or characters...no...it's because of the perfect balance of the element of reality, the portrayal of the adolescent mind, and the little experiences the characters go through that allow a very deep and personal connection to exist between the viewer and the screen. Once you start seeing this movie, you are quickly transported to your past (assuming you are now an adult), you begin to live your childhood through the characters, memories flood your psyche, and inevitably you are consumed with nostalgia. An immediate consequence of this is that you, now an adult, are able to achieve an amazing persepctive of your own childhood...you become enlightened...you place yourself in the shoes of these four kids and sit in amazement of the innocence of early life. You begin to think of your childhood from a new frame of reference...the film is enlightning!! This is why it is such an amazing movie!!

I do regret some reviewers missing this point and instead criticizing the film for a weak plot (which is completely uncalled for), and finally awarding this movie a rating of less than 5 stars...it's a tragedy if you ask me.

Summary: Mellow, nostalgic, and packed with quiet importance.
Review: "Stand By Me" is a shining example of how well Stephen King can write when horror is not his aim, along with "The Shawshank Redemption". "The Green Mile" and "The Stand" have horror and the supernatural as components of the story but they are not the goal there either, and wonderful stories were the result.

"Stand By Me" is based upon a novella called "The Body" and is a small-town, coming-of-age story involving four semi-misfit boys who go on an adventure to solve the mystery of a boy from a nearby town who is missing. They discover themselves and give a clear definition of friendship along the way. The characters are believable (watch Wil Wheaton and River Phoenix especially), the story flows well, and the music is great. Like many movies based upon a work of Stephen King, the story does not rush, but unfolds smoothly and effortlessly. There is some profanity that fits neither the story's era nor its tone, but few things in life are flawless. Enjoy!

Summary: A great movie
Review: I have never seen the DVD version of this movie, but I saw it on TV and taped it. It is a great movie; all the actors are superb! I just finished reading the book The Body, it is amazing! It gives alot of detail! I am the same age as the characters and although I am a girl, I can relate to all of them. No matter how old I get, I will always love the movie and the book!

Summary: Entire Movie is with director's commintary!
Review: If you don't already have this movie....don't get this DVD...you can't watch the movie without Rob Reiner's voice in the background. There isn't an option to just watch the movie. Luckily I had the VHS tape...I thought I would like to have to the DVD, but its just extra things to have...no movie.

Summary: This is a $&.... good movie!
Review: Yes, "Stand By Me" is a very good movie. I am only 14, so I can't say that it brings me back memories of my childhood. But this is still a great movie. It's about four 12-year-old boys who go on a 30-mile hike in search of a dead body. The boys cuss, smoke, tell tall tales, and stick together as a team. Let's just say that things get a little dicey, however, when the knife-wielding hoods of the town begin to follow the boys. This movie is very funny (I can't stop laughing after the pie-eating contest, even if it was a little ribald), but it's also a touching story about friendship, too. All in all, this is a wonderful movie.

"Stand By Me", however, is rated R. In general terms, it is rated R for plenty of inappropriate, rude, and vulgar behavior. These include crude language (e.g. "Why don't you go home and .... your mother some more?!"), smoking, offensive humor, and perilous situations, all of which involve 12-year-old kids. This is why I rated it 4 stars. I highly recommend it for fathers and no-less-than-14-year-old sons. I wouldn't want to put any crazy ideas into the minds of any younger kids.

Summary: MY ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIE!!!
Review: "Chopper, sick balls!"

I love this movie! It is, has been, and will always be my favorite. It posesses the perfect balances of humour and tears. I read in a previous review that someone was disappointed by it on account of the foul language used. First of all, it must be taken into consideration that that is the way they would have talked anyway and any alteration in that respect on the part of the director would have made the film inaccurate. Secondly, the same reviewer mentioned that this was a children's movie. I have to disagree. It may be about children, but I certainly don't think that they were the intended audience. River Phoenix does a phonomenal job in this film and it is a must see!!
