Summary: Great Movie
Review: A man fears his son is a serial killer; the son plays on this and torments his father; is he the culprit or is it the father? That is the premise in this low-key, yet tense and enthralling psychological drama. The answer is rather predictable, but thanks to the intense performances by Treat Williams, Linda Hamilton and Jonathan Jackson, the movie grabs you and doesn't let up until it's last mesmerizing scene. Williams has aged nicely, maintaining that handsome leading man quality, but has gone a little pudgy and hangs on to that guy next door persona. Hamilton, looking a little tired and older,nonetheless conveys a quiet sexuality and seems to enjoy her character; Jackson switches from smart-mouthed brat to the abused victim rather effectively. The direction is terse and not ostentatious, Powers letting the story tell itself.
A tight little overlooked film.

Summary: Well worth it
Review: A while ago my wife brought home this movie on VHS from the local movie joint. I rolled my eyes figuring she picked up another B-grade cheesy flick. Boy was I surprised. This movie is well acted and keeps your attention throughout. In has enough twists to keep you wondering who is doing what and what the full story really is. It doesn't rely on gore or shock value but rather mental games to keep you glued and wondering what is going to happen. Well worth the money and a great addition to any dramatic/thriller DVD collection.

Summary: Saw it at Nodance too! Fantastic low-budget noir!
Review: Beautifully shot and well acted on every level. I'm trying to remember, but I think when Wayne introduced the film at Nodance (in the Main St. Mall, Park City, UT), I thought he said it was shot on Hi-Def... I can't remember. Anyways, the plot is sometimes cliche-riding, but it's still a wonderful and sorta disturbing ride. Nice, nice stuff. Kinda like an audience-friendly Lynch rendition of a back-stabbing, twisted family noir made for tv. Still, it's darn good.

Review: First, the technical aspects. This film was shot in High-Definition and seems to have a higher frame rate than most movies on DVD. That took some adjusting because I was so used to the "flicker effect" on pans, but overall it makes the whole story more realistic, like you're actually watching it happen in real life. Very clear video. The clearest I've seen yet, even on a standard definition television. Having seen the synergy of Treat Williams and Jonathan Jackson in _Deep_End_of_the_Ocean_, it seemed to carry through to _Skeletons_in_the_Closet_. And after seeing Jonathan play the "troubled teen" in three other films, not to mention General Hospital from time to time, I wasn't surprised that he could pull off such a great performance here. His character is the type I enjoy liking -- the type who if the character were real, I'd would easily be friends. He seems likable enough...but then, you never really know anybody.

Summary: WOW!!!
Review: I think that this is one of the best thillers ever made. Jonathan Jackson is AMAZING! His character touched me, I wasn't angery with him. He was hurting, and I think that Jonathan Jackson showed the emotion better than anyone else could've done. It takes real talent to be able to pull that role off. The story line kept me on the edge of my seat and yet wasn't a freak movie that is too much. This is one to buy!!!

Summary: Great acting, but a lot of things were disappointing...
Review: I'll admit it. I bought this DVD because I heard my favorite actress Schuyler Fisk was not only acting, (playing the main character's girlfriend) but singing in this movie. Having seen "Snow Day" and hearing her song "It's Not Her" on the end credits of her last film, I was very disappointed when I discovered (after awaiting "Skeletons" release) that Schuyler was barely in this movie. She was in maybe 5 scenes (some longer then others) and her song "Catching up with Yesterday" was only introduced in the movie, and not finished. Being fair, I figured I should sit through all of "Skeletons in the Closet" (since I already bought the DVD) and at least get a good story out of it. (After all, a movie about a teenage serial killer seemed scary and interesting) But the reality is, the movie was rushed, and I didn't find it scary at all. It seemed more like a drama about a boy who needed help more then anything. The film was way too depressing for me. Besides the great acting (By the entire cast, especially the boy who played Seth) I found little to like about this movie. I WANTED to like it, I really did. However, I felt cheated knowing that because of the cheap special effects, and somewhat of a let down type of story, this should have been Lifetime or HBO. Not on a DVD where you have to pay for it. It would have been great as a made-for-TV movie. As an indie film, it's a dud. Three stars for the acting alone.

Review: I've seen the initial DVD of this film, which was featured at the Nodance Film Festival. Great scenery, tightly written and edited, great cast. The cast has someone for everyone--Treat Williams & Linda Hamilton for the post-teen audience, Jonathan Jackson and Schuyler Fisk for the young lovers. Although it has some action scenes, it's pull is the uncertainty--who's the bad guy here? Who killed whom? Who's playing the head games? And why? In the end it's all about a family that strugles with family secrets--like murder! Don't miss the opening scene.

Review: My Opinion May Seem A Little Biased because i was in the movie! it was filmed in Jackson New Hampshire, where i live so i got to be an extra in a couple of scenes. ANYWAY, this is a great movie and it keeps you on the edge of your seats. i HIGHLY recomend u buy this
