Summary: Not Bad For A Non-Blockbuster Type Of Movie
Review: Ashley Judd is an extremely sexy, and seductive woman, and carries this aura about herself to most of her roles, and this one is no less the exception. This was an entertaining film, but probably one which you would want to see only once.I had a difficult time accepting the believability of a fair number of scenes (for example, Judd, in an effort to get away from Tommy Lee Jones' character, pushes a car off of a crowded ferry, and no one notices. In another, a bartender who has seen Judd's face on a wanted poster lets her escape from the cops simply because there is no reward money ). Perhaps I am wrong, but I also believed that, barring highly unusual circumstances, a person could not be convicted of murder unless a body had been found. In this circumstance, this is not the case as her husband, whom she supposedly murdered,is alive and well. Jones is basically reprising his role from "The Fugitive" here. Overall, I had a good time watching this movie. It was exciting to watch. There is a bonus for all of you men (such as myself), who have a thing for Ms. Judd: she has a nude scene, but don't blink or you'll miss it.

Review: Double Jeopardy wasn't a bad flick. It held my interest for the entire duration. It wasn't the greatest movie, but no doubt it's worth a watch. Tommy Lee Jones did a good job in his role as the parole officer. Ashley Judd also did well in her role too. I actually had no problem with the plot; it was interesting, cohesive, and not confusing. There were some scenes that were quite creative and not run-of-the-mill also. Double Jeopardy was a movie that was entertaining. Worth a watch.

Review: Will she shoot him? Double Jeopardy is the name of a law where a person can not be convicted twice for the same crime. Ashley Judd is a woman convicted of killing her husband. She is sentenced to 6 years of prison and taken away from her child. After a year she finds out that her husband is alive. Thus setting up the question, "Will she shoot him?" Double Jeopardy is one of those Hollywood ventures where the commercial ruins any suspense or intrigue the film has. As we meander through this tale there isn't any shockers or brilliant acting. Academy award winner Tommy Lee Jones has never looked so bored. His character is an almost carbon-copy of the character he has played in two Fugitive movies. Bruce Greenwood plays a jerk as he has always played on the big screen. And as for Ashley Judd, she does the best she can with this two dimensional character as she tries desperately to bring credibility to it. This poor, poor woman needs a juicy role where we can see her act like I know she can. Maybe the DVD will have some good special features.

Review: The plot of the movie is that Ashley Judds charactor gets convicted of murdering her husband, only to find that he is still alive. After serving six years in prison she is released to the halfway house run by Tommy Lee Jones, who plays too much like his "Fugitive" role, and she begins a quest for revenge. The DVD only comes with the Theatrical Trailer and a behind the scenes. The studio (Paramount) needs to start putting more extras on their discs or lose sales to companies like Universal, Warner, and New Line who load on the extras and charge less per movie.

Summary: A movie thriller that holds your attention all the way!
Review: When you get this on DVD or video when it comes out, you won't want to put this on pause. Ashley Judd plays Libby PArsons, a young woman who has everything she could want . . . until her husband is declared dead after his blood is found on the deck of their yacht, and she is caught with the knife by the Coast Guard. Evidence in court points towards her, she is incarcerated in prison, then by accident learns her husband Nick has faked his death! Hearing she cannot be convicted for murdering him twice, she begs for parole and escapes from her parole officer, an alcoholic, down-on-his-luck job-hater Travis Layman(Tommy Lee Jones, who is virtually recreating his US MARSHALLS role) to track Nick down. There's some great action scenes in the process and some unexpected and unusual plot twists, especially towards the end. So summing up, this movie is well worth watching and very hard to fault.

Review: This is SO different from most things I have seen! The plot is wonderful and you have high class suspense and funny remarks! When Ashly Judd and hubby go on a romantic boating get away, Judd's husband sets her up for his murder. While in prison for 6 years for "killing her husband," she finds out, accidently, that her husband is alive and well! When she gets out, her plan is revenge and getting her son back. Jones, her parol officer, must capture her for leaving "past curfew." (tee-hee) This makes for Judd not only the hunter, but the hunted. All and all a wonderful movie! The adventure, drama, and suspense is wonderful and I recommend anyone with GOOD TASTE(! ) to see it!

Summary: None Too Impressive
Review: No one ever expects an escapist film to be factually (or in this case, legally) accurate, but this film goes too far. The entire premise of "Double Jeopardy" is based on the assumption that Judd's character would be able to kill her husband without fear of being tried for the crime since she had already been convicted for his murder. That is flat-out wrong. Since the facts and circumstances of the "second" murder would be entirely different from the "first" murder, double jeopardy would not, repeat not, apply. I saw this film on a plane last month and laughed through much of it, and several other lawyers on the same flight had the same reaction regarding the screenwriter's interpretation of the law.

Review: I'm no lawyer, but I've watched enough Law&Order and Homicide to believe that one can not be convicted for a crime if a body was never found. But I know, " It's just a movie and I watch too much T.V.". Anyway, it was fun. There were a lot of action and I don't care how much I see Tommy Lee Jones play his chasing-a-man-on-the-run,"Fugitive" roles, I love the man enough to see his "Fugitive" genre movies again and again. He is just that cool. Ashley was okay in it during her action scenes, but she is pitiful to watch whenever the script calls for her character to be in an emotional state. I didn't take this movie seriously, so I wasn't expecting that much to be disappointed over. It's good enough to rent.

Summary: An appalling, repulsive, dreafdul film! Take my advice!
Review: "Well," I thought to myself as I went into this movie. "At least this is an original plot." And that much as true. Unfortunately original plots do not make for great movies, or even good one. In this improbable caper, Ashley Judd is framed for her husband's murder and sent to prison only to discover by accident that he has run off with her best friend. Hellbent on revenge, she escapes from a half-way house where she is on parole and hunts him down. Of course, she may kill him anywhere, anytime, because she has already been convicted for his murder and cannot be tried again for it, thanks to the Sixth Amendment. Though the plot is original, the action scences and dialougue are the same old cliches seen in almost every action movie. The courtroom scenes are a mockery. The D.A. asks Judd's charatcer (who, by the way takes the stand in the trial. I suppose her attorney never heard of pleading the fifth) "Who killed your husband then? Pirates? Aliens?" No, Madame D.A., courtroom manner of that sort is not allowed. Don't belittle the witness. And then after we are expected to believe she has miraculously discovered her husband set her, the writers ask us to take another leap of faith and believe that in just a few short years a woman convicted of premeditated murder will be sent to a half-way house. In a word, no (and thank goodness they don't, by the way). Tommy Lee Jones provides the only merit to the entire movie as a smart alec, alcoholic, down-on-his-luck director of the half-way house who chases Judd from California to New Orleans. Still, correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't Jones chased one too many innocent people now. If I am ever being chased by the police, I want Jones following me, because then I know somehow I will be declared innocent. All in all, what promises to be original falls into the same silly gags and stunts of every other action flick that has ever been made. This one is not worth your time.

Review: I HAVEN'T SEEN THE VIDEO YET, SINCE IT HASN'T BEEN RELEASED BUT THE MOVIE WAS GREAT. I THINK IT WAS THE BEST PICTURE OF THE YEAR. I AM A FAN OF ASHLEY JUDD AND WOULD PAY MONEY TO SEE AND HEAR HER READ THE WEATHER REPORTS.
