Summary: DA BEST DAUGHTER VS MOTHER-IN-LAW MOVIE
Review: Hush is of the most watched movies, I watch. I can watch this movie over and over, and find something different each time. I seen this movie for the first time last Christmas, I knew then I was going to love it. Gwenyeth did a beautiful job knowone could have been better to play the part of Helen. Jessica played the loving mother/villian Martha Baring really good still knowone else good have been better.

Summary: I loved this movie! It was great!
Review: Hush was awesome! It was very suspenseful and kept me on the edge of my seat. It had a great plot and was written very well! Both Jessica Lange and Gwyneth Paltrow had exquisite performances in this thriller!

Summary: Quiet please!
Review: Hush? There was really no need to call for quiet during the first hour of this grandiose, but rather slow thriller.....the distinct lack of action and overdeliberate development of the characters produced a sufficiently soporific effect to ensure silence. The success of movies of this "evil matriarch" ilk seems to depend upon evoking a feeling of hatred for the mother figure and, eventually, the urge to strangle Jessica Lange is almost irrepressible, but it all takes too long to happen. So, a beautifully shot film with a luxurious country estate backdrop and a top draw cast (Nina Foch is delightful as the down-to-earth paternal grandmother), but this ground has been covered with more malice and a smaller budget by movies like "The Stepmother" (Diane Ladd).

Summary: Great movie
Review: I bought this dvd ana watched it for the first time. The only reason I bough it was because Gywneth Paltrow played in it. I had no idea if it would be a good movie ar not so I took a chance.
This movie is about a young lady who marries this nice young man and returns to his family hertiage and help his widow mother keep the family ranch. The only thing is that the mother-in-law has a problem letting go of her son whom she is very controlling of. She desires to be the only lady in his life. When Paltrow becomes pregnant (jessica lang) will stop of nothing short of eliminating her (paltrow) from her husband and grand childs life. Does she succeed or fail. Will she remain the only one in her Son' and Grandson's lofe? Watch and see.

Review: I didn't really like the film as much as I thought I would. Since part of the movie was filmed near my hometown(Culpeper, Va), I was excited to see it and got let down. The Plot needs work. My 3 stars go to Jessica Lange. One of the sexiest females on Earth.

Review: I saw Hush in theaters when I was about 11. I remember seeing the trailer on TV, thinking wow this movie is going to be a classic! Well, I saw the movie and I still thought it was a classic--possibly because it was my first exposure to Jessica Lange, who gives an indelible performance.

Although many have said Hush is a forgettable film, I believe it is quite the contrary. 1997 was a few years ago and this film stands firmly within my memory. It really is an excellent throwback to the Joan Crawford and Bette Davis thrillers of the 1960s. First, there is beautiful cinematography, a lush score, and excellent acting (besides Gwyneth Paltrow, who positively sucks in this film!). Its true that you long for Lange to hit Paltrow with a lamp, to stop her insufferable whining! This is a far cry from her excellent performance in the recent Sylvia.

I guess the thing you will love about Hush is that it is fun to watch. It is not garbage like most people would have you believe, but in fact a very well-made, well-acted, classy thriller with a great score and a great star (Lange). And, for the record, the plot is great!

Summary: hush
Review: I think this is a great movie! I've seen it several times and I still haven't gotten sick of it. The plot has many twists and turns, and i don't think it is at all predictable. I'd reccomend it to anyone looking for a good suspenseful flick. Happy Easter!

Summary: WISH THERE WAS A DIRECTOR'S CUT...DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE?
Review: I'm a HUGE Johnathon Schaech fan, I watch everything he's in, good or bad. I've seen Hush about a dozen times, and I've finally noticed something. In the trailer for the movie (which is on my DVD of FINDING GRACELAND) there's so much more to the movie that's missing from the actual cut we see...including a huge fire, someone being taken out of the house on a stretcher, and Johnathon standing in front of an ambulance, holding up a locket (resembling the one Gwynneth wears in the movie.) So I rewatched the movie and noted that in ALL scenes that Jackson's father is mentioned, Gwynneth's wearing a wig...leading me to believe the whole story was changed...rewritten to include this story of a father who was killed by Jessica Lange. The ending of the movie sucks...this movie had so much potential and lost it all with this ending. I WISH THEY'D RELEASE A DIRECTOR'S CUT! At least we could see some of that good action they enticed us with in the trailer! Until there's a director's cut....this movie only get's 3 stars, and that's just because I love staring at Johnathon for 90 minutes. -smb
