Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I found this movie to be compelling and addicting. If you are at all a fan of the Temps then this is a must own to your collection. This tale follows the careers of all of the Temps and tells it with class and dignity. You will feel compassion, hate, releif and greif, while watching this movie. DVD is a must for the sounds of the Temps.
Rating: Summary: Great Family Movie Review: Mothers everywhere! At last a wonderful movie filled with lessons in life. First of all, if any person can sit still without wanting to dance, he has no sense of music! Secondly, the lessons taught, i.e. honesty, loyalty, fidelity, love of family, the evils of drug use, suicide, the rewards of hard work and more are all there. You can watch this film with your grandmother or your grandchild and both will love it as much. But to those of you, like me, who were brought up listening to and loving Temptations music, I warn you--it's addictive. You'll even give up time on the Internet to watch it for the tenth time. In fact, as I write this, I'm "listening" to it upstairs for probably the 40th time. I know you'll enjoy it as much as my family has.
Rating: Summary: a terrific movie Review: I love this movie and it became my favorite when I first saw it! I watch the movie every chance I get (which is almost every day), it's so well made and entertaining! The actors were so cute and they did such an amazing job, especially Terron Brooks as Eddie and Christian Payton as Paul. The singing and dancing is perfect and the actors couldn't have done better. This movie is fantastic and I would recommend it to everyone! If only they would release the tv version and not the shortened one...
Rating: Summary: This movie is addicting!!!! Review: This movie stays in my VCR at all times and I see that I'm not the only one who watches it almost daily! My 3 year old and my 21-month old sons like to dance to the music and try to do the "moves".(Me too!) I was also happy that the movie showed the world the major contributions that Paul Williams made to the group. Even though "creative license" was taken on some of the facts, especially regarding David Ruffin, I loved it!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable Review: It was an enjoyable video to watch however the movie did not go into a lof of details and some of the facts were modified for TV movie purposes. As a Temptation fan you will enjoy it but if you are real big fan and have followed the group over the years you will be dissapointed with some of the glossing over. I would have liked to seen about some of the other members in the group.
Rating: Summary: Tall & Talented...Teasin' & Tan, Back to Back & Man to Man Review: I am a serious fan of the Fab Five (48-yrs old). I was afraid to watch this film because I thought it was going to be another 5 Heartbeats (ugh!). I was pleasantly surprised and appreciate the respectful treatment and superb portrayals of the greatest male group ever. All the actors captured the souls of "Corn", "Ruf", "O", "Blue" and "Poopie". I watch it everyday to cries of, "Mom, Please! Not again!" Does anyone know who does the singing? (When the records aren't playing, that is). This is an excellent effort. Payton and Brooks are subtle and hauntingly accurate. It's like seeing the "original" tall, tan, talented, teasin', temptin' Temptations all over again. (Which are the only Temptations, for me.) Watch this movie then listen to Paul's live version of "For Once In My Life" and Eddie's treatment of "You Can Depend On Me"...and you'll agree, "Temptations Forever."
Rating: Summary: DID YOU KNOW?!! Review: Did you know that Christian Payton sang "For Once In My Life" 30 times before the 31st time in the movie? Yes! Payton was sounding too good, and the producers wanted him to sound more drunk, tired, and hoarse.
Rating: Summary: Nostalgic Movie! Review: I found out that Leon was really singing on "Shout." It was said that he sang on "Beauty's Only Skin Deep" also. It was really Christian Payton's voice on "Stay," "Oh Mother Of Mine," "For Once In My Life," and "Shout". Leon said in an interview that he tried getting his voice like David Ruffin's so he could play the part good. He said that he would rather act though, than have a singing career.
Rating: Summary: I was extrememly pleased with this video Review: The Temptations is a movie I will watch over and over. It depicts what stardome can do if one isn't careful.Paul's life ended in tragedy because of alcohol. Smoking killed Eddie and that dynamic voice. Then there was poor David - drugs kill. I loved every one of them and the actors did superb jobs.
Rating: Summary: best i have seen in years Review: can only say the movie was fantisti
