Summary: A timeless tale with an all-star cast!
Review: For fans of the classic film "Outsiders" & for fans of S.E. Hinton's great books, this is highly recommended. Starring the then unknown Matt Dillon as Tex McCormick, it is about two brothers who are faced with struggles & hardships as they grow up without parental support (their mother is dead & their father, played by Ben Johnson, is always traveling). Tex McCormick's older brother, Mason, is played by Jim Metzler, who you might recognize from the tv mini-series "North & South". Tex's best friend is played by Emilio Estevez, & Meg Tilly, in her film debut, plays Tex's girlfriend. Personally, I enjoyed this more than "Outsiders" because this has a more positive ending. I highly recommend this great movie to people of all ages.

Review: I bought this DVD because of the 5 star rating. It was soooo bad I gave it away. This is the first DVD I have every given away because it was not worth watching.

Review: I loved Tex. I guess it's sort of a boys movie but I'm a girl and enjoyed the book and movie. I think everyone should see this movie. It brings out the original magic in movies.

Review: I personal loved the book and i have never actually seen the DVD or Vhs but i bet it is really good. I also read the outsiders and saw the movie the book was excellent. The movie was very good and all but i would have to had these certain in that were not in the movie, which i would have like to seen. i loved the book so much thats how i decided to read Tex. i had fun reading both and they were both well worth it.

Review: I read the book so desided to rent the movie. I was so glad I did. If you have not seen the movie, see it. But read the book first. Then you get the real feel for the movie. Matt Dillon is goregous in the movie! All those actors are big stars today, like Matt Dillon, Emilio Estevez. The others did good too. If you have seen The Ousiders and liked it, you will like Tex also. I never regeret watching it. I enjoyed every moment of the movie. It is a little different from the book. But it follows the same guidelines.

Review: In the rough days of teen life trying to find where one belongs in relationship to one's self, family and friends and the need for change and breaking away.This movie portrays all of that with great care and fantastic acting by the entire cast.I highly reccomend it.

Review: Oops,Got My S.E. Hinton's confused there for a moment..I'm okay now,let us proceed...Another big-screen adaptation drawn from the quadrilogy of junior high must-reads written by Ms. Hinton,This was the only one delivered to us by the Walt Disney Studios.That fact is of particular note since there are scenes that involve both guns and drugs,And neither Kim Richards or Burt Convy are anywhere to be found!--Watching the film today,it doesn't work as well as it did 22 years ago,but then I'm 22 years older(ouch!)and look at film in a way I didn't(or couldn't)back then..The kids will enjoy it,and you will enjoy sharing it with them-So own it!....Just make sure you purchase the Disney edition as it is remastered and presented in widescreen for your protection.....
