Summary: Potential "Deep Meaning" was totally overshadowed by chaos
Review: All right, I understand that this movie had very deep and meaningful intentions, but, being the Williams' lover that I am I thought I would check it out. I was very disappointed with the outcome. It seemed that the whole movie was chaos and tried to pass only by its amazing visuals. I didn't believe that he loved her enough to go to Hell for her, and I thought that the whole picture was just a wierd dream that one of the scriptwriters dreamed up one afternoon. The movie definitely didn't come close to it's potential. I thought it a waste of money.

Summary: Vomitous Wretching for Celestine Profecy Workshoppers
Review: Robin Williams plays a guppie who, along with his son (Cuba G.Jr--and yeah, the racist representation shines very brightly in what isn't said) deins to rescue his wife IN HELL. Max Von Sydow has the only admirable role. Everyone else oozes syrup and late Moody Blues lyrical cheese. So awful I had to leave the theatre, despite the amazing effects, mostly because my partner and I were laughing too much through the serious parts. New Age romance for rubes too dense to see fifteen screenwriters (all of whom were, as it were, fifteen years old) with their hands in this pie. Pathetic screenplay. What happened is that someone had an intriguing idea and pushed for fantastic effects, but then let Hollywood ruin it. If you like _Embraced by the Light_, and are not insulted by stupid dialogue, then you may make it through. If you demand more than pretty colors--go rent _Brazil_ instead. The fan ratings are grossly and severely overrated. This is a terrible movie, by any standard.

Review: This is a movie that either people love or hate. The special effects are amazing, but the storyline depends on how you look at it. I found it to be the ultimate love story that touched upon our own mortality. The writer of this movie had a beautiful and brilliant mind. I can't think of any movie that I enjoyed more than this one.

Summary: Talk about killing a perfectly good book!
Review: It's not like I hated this movie. I thought Robin Williams did a good job and visually, it was very unique. Of course, I had to be one of those people who reads the book before seeing the movie. And I think we've all seen good books get slaughtered on film. So, although a good movie, it severely lacked everything that made the book so great. Actually, it was practically a completely different story taking place in the same settings (Ala "Jurassic Park"). Of course, there were other things to. The kids die, and when he gets to heaven, he doesn't really seem to care. The camera work when he first dies was poorly edited. The entrance to Hell looked like the stage at a Kiss concert. Little things like that. But in short and without going into a much longer speech, I just want to say that for once, if you are really curious about the story of a man in heaven who goes to hell to save his wife, then just read the book.

Summary: The "deepest" movie I've seen in years!
Review: If you like action and carnage and can't understand why people love movies that shift their tear ducts into overdrive, or movies that require you to look deeper than the script to find the story...you will probably HATE this movie. For those of us that enjoy the experience of a movie that brings out intense emotions, a movie that requires you to "read between the lines" to really enjoy it...BUY THIS MOVIE! The message in this movie is deep, and the storyline and special effects bring it all togther. There are no rules in heaven or hell and the true love of a soulmate can bring a soul back from the pits of hell. I didn't get to see this movie in the theater (it would have been awesome!) Even on a TV the special effects are stunning (sometimes, just a bit harsh due to the intensity of the colors). Unlike anything I've ever seen in a movie. But I really think it is the story that makes this movie. It made me take another look at my own relationship with my love.

Review: i thought that this movie was great , and i don't care what anyone thinks !! i thought that it was a awsome love story and it truely showed real love bettween a family . i don't see how any body could not like it , if not love it !! i would tell anybody to watch this movie even though it can get pretty sad along the way . i am sure that they would like it .

Review: Thinking the movie was named "Color of dreams" I searched 10 other video sites until I came to Amazon. Still typing "color of dreams", amazon's advanced search found "Color of dreams" as a close match. Now with the correct name, I searched the other sites to compare costs.. Amazon was the only site to offer both the lowest cost - and available in DVD format. Next time I look for a book or movie, i'll stop at amazing.com first.. err, amazon.com first.

Summary: Need more year to catch up with your heart and mind?
Review: This would be a none sense, frustrating, boring movie for the people who need more years to catch up with your heart and mind in this lovely painful world. Give yourself a test! Come back to see this movie later when you feel your experience in this world in this life is fully grown. And if not, then you probably need more time. Else you can say, we are the loser to let other people know what is call "life". Think we need more education on this movie. More then what they teach on science, math and history in schools where the students only see how stunning the special effect is but don't get the thought and the heart of the story. I think the 2 children in the story had learned, the loved ones had learned, but how can people learn like they did without the death experience?! It is a great movie that let me learn about how much I had changed from the time when I was like the people who said "frustrating", "good effect only" and "don't get it" to now....

Summary: Amazine Love Story w/ Stunning Visuals!
Review: This movie is fantastic. Absolutely original when it comes to views of the afterlife. Robin William plays the part of Christy very well; in fact, I couldn't imagine any other actor playing the part. A movie about soulmates, an area that not alot of romance movie had covered. The visuals will take your breath away, especiall the heaven scene. This is a movie that has touched my heart and will remain on my all time great library.

Summary: An amazing perspective on the afterlife, and on love
Review: I never saw this in the theaters, but instead came across it one night on Pay Per View while searching for something to watch. I saw Robin Williams' name and thought "Hey, it could be funny, so why not?" Well, it certainly wasn't funny. This movie was, in a word, breathtaking. Never before have I seen such a different perspective on the afterlife. This view of it is much more believable, to be honest, and is far more desirable. I also like the fact that it focuses more on the man than the woman, instead of vice versa (a mistake that many romances make). It shows the extremities to which a man will go to protect his love. Anyway... I was looking for something to pacify me for two hours, and I found something that was truly amazing. Well worth seeing.
