Summary: A beautiful movie
Review: This is a wonderfull movie, though unfortunately overlooked and underated by most people. I believe its because this isnt the sort of movie you can sit around watching while chatting with a bunch of friends, and not devote youre 100% attention to because you will lose so much. It has a beautiful story, and is visually beautiful too. If you are interested in storys that involve love, family, spirituality, great emotion, courage... You'll love this.

Summary: WDMC Was Made for DVD and DVD Was Made for WDMC!!!
Review: I don't normally plonk down a decent amount of money to purchase a DVD of a film I never saw in the theater or rented on VHS, but "What Dreams May Come" (WDMC) was made for DVD and DVD was made for films like "WDMC".

I had read the movie reviews (very mixed) when it was in the theaters but I never got around to seeing it. On DVD this film becomes a "must see!". I am very happy that I bought it, even at near full price, as it is definitely a "re-watch" addition to my limited collection.

The Oscar it earned for its visual effects was extremely well deserved (and actually got me re-interested in seeing the film on DVD). Spectacular visuals, moving score, excellent audio effects and special features available on DVD only (Beautiful PC Wallpaper downloads and an alternate movie ending).

I SO wanted this to be one of the great films of all time -- it isn't; it could have used more character development so we care more about the characters besides just the Robin Williams character -- but if you want your DVD player to blow your socks off and stretch the limits of the home entertainment medium, this has a chance to be, and remain, one of the great DVD releases of all time. The DVD conversion is great; the disc will "drip" from your TV and speakers. The acting performances are excellent, considering how easily they could be lost by the computer generated visuals. It's the script that could not bear the weight of the film and even so, it is not a bad script at all really, just should have been more memorable and less plodding.

It is also a great movie to watch with your spouse or significant other. Watch it on a day when you are ticked off at something somebody did that day -- cut you off on the road; was rude to you at work; bothered you at home -- and you'll treat the REST of that day, and many more, with a whole new outlook. Four 1/2 stars out of Five.

Review: When I watch this movie, feelings of hope and excitement are invoked during nearly every scene. Yes the visual effects are excellent, be that is not important. The "memory scenes" I hold most dear, and the relationship between Chris and Annie is grand. This movie is one of the greatest.

There is only one line in this movie that I cannot appreciate, "Where is God in all of this?"

Summary: Loved it! Saw it more than once!
Review: My 20 year old daughter came home after watching this movie with a friend. They were both were so excited and said that it had changed them, and that I had to see this movie. Well I watched it and I can tell you that I was in awe of the special effects and the acting. It was so moving and we all cried all the way home, not that I felt it was depressing, but it was actually so full of joy at the end, it really makes you think about the ones you love.

Summary: Inspired and Inspiring
Review: When I finished watching this film, all I found myself left with was a deep sense of HOPE! I found myself praying that my After-Life would be just as remarkable. Life truly IS what we make it to be - once we envision something, it automatically BECOMES REALITY. Think of about this, for a moment: We believe ourselves to be "real"- taking up Space and Time. Once we, Metaphysically, occupy these two dimensions of TIME, we are said to "exist", and "be alive". Another way of seeing this is to ask yourself: What is the quickest thing in existence - in the entire universe? Answer: THOUGHT. I can be talking to you and, at the same time, be thinking about the last time I was backpacking in Africa!...This moves quicker than the speed of light!! Thought is reality! WHAT DREAMS MAY COME was like that for me - filled with endless possibilities. Robin Williams is a fantastic actor and did a wonderful job portraying Despair and Love - in their purest forms! An added joy was seeing Cuba Gooding,Jr., portrayed as his recently-departed son-- brilliant and superb!! And his daughter- coming to him as the fragile China doll--WOW!!! Beautiful cinematography, costume designing, and storyline make this a movie worth seeing. If only everyone could be loved so...
