Summary: Insightful and Compelling
Review: A flick that deserves way more attention than it has ever received. Every single character is delved into quickly and easily resulting in the viewer knowing the personality of each person, and actually feeling as if maybe you went to High School with one or two of them. Wonderful plot, great cinematography and a powerful soundtrack.

Review: I saw this movie for the first time nine years ago. After watching it the first time, I immediately watched it again. This is my favorite movie compared to anything. It definitely gives the viewer a real look into the realm of drugs and homelessness. This movie is definitely underrated, watched too infrequently and too unknown.

Summary: One of the best unwatched videos of all time.
Review: No acclaim was ever given to this great film. I did not even know it existed until one late night while I surfed to The Movie Channel. The cinematography is beautiful. The camera is used like I have never seen before. All of the actors mesh with the characters to make a film that is incredibly true to life, and sad enough that you wish it wasn't. Not a bad actor in the film and not a bad line in the script, I would recommend this movie to anyone. If I were a film teacher, this would be the first movie my students would see. One of those that you can watch umpteen thousand times and never get bored. I can't describe it further than that. Just buy it!

Review: There is a superficiality to this movie that is a bit disconcerting. I suppose it is ironic that big time actors (many not so big then) play no name children of the street. It raises awareness, yes, but it also makes it look kind of cool.I lived in Seattle for a while and the young people living on the street have a certain belief in the 'coolness' of their lifestyle that actually validates this movie to a degree. Having worked with the homeless in my hometown, I've learned that it is not monolithic. There are as many 'types' of homeless people as there are homeless people. Does that make me an expert? No. However, that being said, this is an excellent movie. The cast is phenomenal. With a score by Melissa Etheridge, the movie feels in places like a rock video but it also helps with the flow and mood. The movie does a good job of exposing, to a greater or lesser degree, the problems that leads to and come with being on the street. It ain't pretty and the movie never really leads you to that conclusion. While it certainly isn't graphic in an extreme sense, it does give you just enough to feel.

Summary: one of my favs of all time
Review: this has been one of my favorite movies for a few years now... OUTSTANDING performances by lara flynn boyle and balthazar getty. in fact the whole cast, from ricki lake to sean astin to will smith is incredible, with a ton of cameos (christian slater, alyssa milano, david arquette)... some great melissa etheridge songs as a musical backdrop.

Summary: THIS IS A GREAT MOVIE.
Review: This is a great movie that is unfortunately unknown to most people. I guarantee all doubters will be pleasantly surprised, I was. It is such an all around good film that you really need to put it under a microscope to criticize it. But don't take my word for it, watch it yourself and Im sure you will agree with me. There are not many movies that I deem are worth repeated viewings, but this is one of them. BRAVO to all involved!!

Review: This is an excellent movie, with solid acting, great writing, an outstanding young cast, and a superb soundtrack. Maltin has no idea in what he is talking about with a "sappy musical montage." To me the Melissa Etheridge music just adds more to the movie. A Must Have!
