Review: My b/f and I watched this movie and loved it. We're thinking about buying it so we can see it again. This movie really touched my heart in a way I wasn't expecting it to. The story is very moving, and I hope everyone gets to enjoy this movie.

Review: I was fortunate to see this movie on a transatlantic flight. I couldn't wait to get home to purchase a personal copy! I loved Hopkins and Gooding in their roles, but the message is one we all need to remember. If I want to see a movie again, that is a measuring tool to me.....this one is a classic!

Summary: Questioning our purpose here
Review: Anthony Hopkins is always fun to watch, and I have also grown to appreciate Cuba Gooding as obligatory to a good movie. The story line in this movie was pretty weak, but the philosophical questioning behind it is powerful. After spending 2 years living among gorillas Hopkins has established a new set of priorities in his life. His evaluating psychologist (Gooding) begins to question his own life and participation in "the game" of our society. The movie points out the importance of exploring existential questions like "why are we here?" and the resistence of our society to allow these questions to be a part of our lives.

Summary: Where has Humanity gone?
Review: If you've ever questioned the decline of civilization, the evolution of humanity watch this movie. It definitely touches the heart and mind subtly and abruptly with prime examples of where the heart of humanity has gone and how man is no longer growing, but has chosen a declining path in the future. I always believed that the best lesson learned is not one told, but taught. This movie definitely has a lot to teach.

Review: Instinct is simply the best movie of 1999. Ignore the critics, and watch a movie that has brilliant writing, superb acting, and possibly the most important message I've ever seen in a movie.

Summary: The performances of Hopkins and Gooding are exceptional.
Review: It's hard to explain the refreshingly intelligent and moving and thoughtful script of this film. Issues such as what is really civilized behavior, the pack as family mentality, and humanity vs. inhumanity are explored with depth but never with a heavy hand. The performances of Hopkins and Gooding are exceptional. Gooding did agreat job with the other film I'd seen him in, JERRY MAGUIRE but the depths of emotion and the layered aspects of his performance in Instinct are incredible. And Anthony Hopkins is as always very very good!Where it falls a little, I think, is in the direction. Jon Turteltaub is a competent director who has done films I've enjoyed, such as WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING and PHENOMENON. But in this case, with everything it had going for it, Turteltaub didn't hold the strings tight. But INSTINCT is a good film. Highly recommended!

Review: The movie have a good plot with solid acting. Cuba can get a bit overactive. Although, a definite improvment over Jerry McGuire. Hopkins is awsome as usual. The movie will really make you realize there is a lot wrong with this world and that there are just a few out there really making a difference to change it.

Review: An American anthropologist (Anthony Hopkins) travels to Africa, where he studies and lives among the gorillas. He basically abandons his wife and daughter back home, becoming so immersed in the natural world. He grows to be so wild that when he is accused of murdering two game warden, he refuses to speak English and explain what happened. He's extradited, and a young psychiatrist (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is called in to try and unlock the mystery of what led to the murders. Men cry, bond, and forgive all.
Since gorillas cannot be reliably trained, master creature-designer Stan Winston fabricated several lifelike models and suits.
