Summary: An excellent movie for any day
Review: This is a spectacular movie which sadly most of the world will never get to see. The acting was amazing, particularly Elijah Wood's portrayal of the terminally ill Barney Snow. The theme was spectacular. While the story was not based on a real-life event, the entire concept is based on similar scientifically proved true happenings. Hope, love, and friendship come together to change the usual perspective on what faith can do for a person's body and mind. I would reccomend this movie for any person who wants to see a good uplifting film without the usual "sex and violence" cliche. It is definately worth buying.

Review: This movie is "thee" best movie I have seen in such a long time. The actors, Elijah Wood, and other parties are wonderful in their portrail. The movie is a must see and buy. You can't go wrong with this movie, its a ten on Amazon's scale of five.

Summary: A Pointless Movie...
Review: This movie is not worth watching unless you are a die-hard fan of Elijah Wood or Rachael Leigh Cook. It is very boring. I often found myself checking the clock to see how much longer the movie would last. It was far too long in my opinion. There were a couple of lines that were memorable. The ending was kind of bittersweet, but not cry-worthy. The special effects were...well, to put it bluntly, they [were bad]. It looked more like an early 90's video game than some computer-generated scene. Please, do me a favor and do not rent this movie.

Summary: Good, but not as good as the book
Review: This was a fairly faithful adaptation of Cormier's brilliant novel. They made some changes, as Hollywood feels the need to do with all of Cormier's work, but the "new" ending in the movie isn't quite as disappointing as it could have been, had they gone for the classic "100% happy" ending.

Review: This wasn't a bad movie. It was thought provoking, but I expected it to have a little more depth. Elijah does an okay job in this film. His Frodo Baggins and Mikey Carver from Ice Storm was far superior to this Barney Snow character. There were some sad moments in the film, but you just don't quite feel the emotional depth that was portrayed in Lord of the Rings. After all, this is a movie about terminal illness and death. On the plus side, the ending has a surprisingly magical touch to it. Still worth the look. Definitely a quieter film, but it just doesn't show that charismatic style that Elijah's well-known for. Oh, well. They can't all be perfect. In general, not a bad flick.

Summary: Absolutely stunning.
Review: To be honest, I only saw this the first time with my friends because it had Elijah Wood in it. It immediately became my favourite movie (tied only with Lord of the Rings). What I love about it, is that it isn't an ordinary shoot-em-up, American terrorism movie like those that have become so popular lately. Instead, it is about life, and death, and love, and how the human spirit can triumph over greater odds. It's the sort of movie that makes you wonder what it would be like if the same thing were happening to you; if one day, you woke up and didn't know who you were, or where you were, or anything about your past. This movie is the only movie besides Lord of the Rings that has ever made me cry. The acting is amazing, the directing is beautiful, and there is no need for special effects, unlike most of today's films. An absolutely brilliant piece of work, and it's such a pity it's not better known- it deserves to be. It touches the heart and the mind, and is a definite must-see.

Beautifully acted and directed, and unlike most modern movies, it is stunning without any computer graphics and explosions. Instead of being nothing but eye candy (unless you count Elijah of course!) it is a movie that touched my heart and made me think about what would be going through my mind if I were in his place. The music is also wonderfully done, it fits the mood and stayed with me for two weeks after I saw the movie. The Bumblebee Flies Anyway is the only movie besides Lord of the Rings that has ever made me cry, and the only one that's made me cry three times in the space of an hour. An absolutely beautiful movie, and definitely a must-see.

Summary: A hauntingly beautiful story of the mind and heart
Review: Truly one of the most wonderful films I can remember seeing, The Bumblebee Flies Anyway is about a teenager who has very little memory of his past. All Barney Snow can remember is a car crash, what he believes to be the source of his amnesia, and his mother. Though he has been brought to a facility where experiments in medical technology are done on others, he is alone here in that he is the only one who is not dying. Despite the doctor's warnings that he should stay detached from the others, Barney finds himself making close friends with Billy and Allie, two other boys from the facility who are dying, and though he finds it difficult at first, also with Mazzo, a boy slightly older than himself who is filled with anger at the fact that he is dying. Even with his friends, Barney still feels alone here, that is until he meets Cassie, Mazzo's sister, and realizes there is hope still for his future. With the help of Billy and Allie, Barney builds a car from junkyard parts to help bring back memories of the car crash that brings such vivid nightmares. When he discovers the truth about himself and what has really happened to him, Barney realizes he himself is like a bumblebee; against the odds, he has survived, just as the bumblebee is not supposed to be able to fly, but does so anyway; some believe the theory of mind over matter is involved. I won't give away anything about the ending, only that it is beautifully done, wonderfully acted, and still makes me cry even after all the times I've watched it. Elijah Wood is perfect in the role of Barney Snow, Rachael Leigh Cook is great as Cassie, the soundtrack will stay in your mind for weeks, and the story, though at first it may seem like just another teen movie, is so much more; it's a story of life and death and the human spirit. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes Elijah Wood and/or stories that touch the heart, but don't bother renting it first- you'll spend more money renting it over and over than you would just buying it. I know I have.

Summary: What if you had to sacrifice your past to gain a future?
Review: What if you woke up one day, in a strange place, knowing you have never been there before? What if you couldn't remember how you got there, or worse, couldn't remember your own name. This is exactly the situation that young Barny Snow (Elijah Wood) has been placed in. The only amnisatic patient in a terminal illness hospital ward, "The Bumblebee Flies Away" tells the story of Barny's quest for his past. With the help of a new aquaintance (Rachael Leigh Cook) and a mysterious experiment known only as "The Bumblebee Project", it soon becomes apparent that Barny's search for his past could lead to ultimate disaster. The movie leaves the audience with a very difficult question. What is more important to a person, the knowledge of the past, or the hope of the future. Filled with heartfelt scenes and exellent charaters, "The Bumblebee Flies Away" shows the audience that even though a bumblebee's body is too large for his tiny wings to carry in flight, when it is mind over matter, the bumblebee flies anyway.
