Rating: Summary: Every once in a while a movie comes along that makes you cry Review: ...because you spent the money to rent it.This has to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The "hero" of the story was a spoiled jerk who you never care about. The "heroine" of the story was a stalker. The only decent person in the movie was the ex-boyfriend who you're supposed to hate because he's standing in the way of the couple who shouldn't be together to begin with. The writers of this movie must have been on some serious drugs to think that this plot makes any sense. 1) Guy messes up girls life. 2) Girl inexplicably stalks guy and falls in love with him while guy treats everyone like crap. 3) Girl and Guy go through some horribly contrived scenes that try to force you to like them. They don't work. 4) Stupid "surprise" ending makes you want to kill the writers because it has no place in the rest of the story, and is just meant to try to make you care about the characters (by the way, the guy is still a jerk -- and you still don't care about her OR him) Anyway, if I ever recommend this pile of steaming dung, it's because I've gone insane... please call for help. -Chris
Rating: Summary: Here On Earth This Is A Different Teen Flick... Review: If you luv teen flicks but are sick of the stunning guys trying to get the girl or vice versa then maybe Here On Earth will be a nice refresher. The flick stars some minor-major stars in the world of teens! LeeLee Sobieski [Never Been Kissed] stars as dying of cancer chica Sam caught between that old love who fits like a shoe or the new boy in town who charms her to him. The old shoe is Josh Hartnett [Halloween H20], who plays Jasper. Jas is a sweet old fella who tries to hold on to his love till the end. The new boy, nicknamed Richie Rich is played by Chris Klein [American Pie]. Basically an accident causes the diner where Sam works to burn down and the two guys [josh h. and chris k.] are sentenced to help rebuild it. Chris Kleins character woos Sam until a certain breaking point when everything falls apart...
Rating: Summary: Here on earth movie Review: The movie Here On Earth is a great movie but it is a really big heartbreaker. I watched it for the first time and it was the most heartbreaking movie I have ever seen. I think that this is a good movie but you have to be ready cause it is a real tear jerker. I always like to see the movies but I know that some of them are going to be sad but I still always like to see them. This is a great movie though and if you want to see a very sad movie I would suggest it but if you dont then you would not want to see it because it is a very, very sad movie and it would break your heart by watching it.
Rating: Summary: Not Just A Chick Flick, Fellas! Review: When I sat down to watch this movie with my fiance and my mother I thought to myself, "Oh no, not another chick flick. I'm goin' to watch the ball game." But when I started to watch it I realized it was a pretty good movie to start. The director does a really good job of showing the type of characters and their traits, especially in the meeting between Chris Klein's character and the Dean of his school. I would have never guessed how the movie would end. The reference to her having a bad knee was a slight foreshadow of the end, but her having cancer blew my mind. I found myself sobbing at the end of this movie--yes, a guy sobbing--because I had just lost a good friend to lung cancer less than a year ago. Overall this movie was absolutely brilliant and a very good story. It teaches one to listen to your heart and not to outside influences. I fell in love with my fiance the summer before I started college and was thinking about leaving her to concentrate on school. I decided not to because I was so in love with her and even though it may take me longer to graduate, I'll never regret the decision. The same situations come up in this movie and make the story unbeleivebly beautiful.
Rating: Summary: Any film with Josh is a good one Review: Even though this was marketed as a "chick flick", I really liked it. The plot reminded me a lot of "Young Americans"; the show that was on the WB network this past summer. Two guys like the same girl---one a townie, the other, a rich kid. Josh Hartnett was totally kewl, just like he was in The Faculty.
Rating: Summary: excellent but............ Review: I loved the movie. I thought it would be a romantic classic but there's one thing I don't understand. Why the hell would sam dump jasper for kelly?? The girl is whack! Josh Hartnett is fine and personally i'd rather have jasper as a boyfriend than kelly. Chris Klein is cute, and Lee lee Sobieski is a great actress. I love the soundtrack it rocks!!!! My big sister asked me if I cried at the end and I was like no. I mean it was sad and all butit was no titanic tear jerker!! I love josh hartnett!!!!!!!! email me with your opinions: prettimom@hotmail.com <- mom's adress
Rating: Summary: HERE ON EARTH Review: I CAN'T NOT EXPLAIN THE TRUTH OF THIS MOVIE, IT WAS SO OVERWELMING. THIS MOVIE EXPLAINS HOW INPORTANT LOVE REALLY IS TO SOME PEOPLE. CHRIS KLEIN (KELLEY) PLAYED AN EXCELLENT ROLE. HE PLAYED A RICH KID WITH ALL THE LOOKS, MONEY, AND POPULARITY. SOME PEOPLE ALWAYS THINK THAT RICH PEOPLE HAVE ALL THE BREAKS, BUT HE SHOWS EVERYONE INCLUDING LEELEE SOBIESKI (SAMANTHA), THE GIRL FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF TRACKS, THAT EVERYONE HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS. WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER HIS MOTHER KILLED HERSELF. HE REALLY LOVED HIS MOTHER, JUST AS HE LOVES SAMANTHA. WHEN HE FOUND OUT THAT SHE WAS DYING OF OSTEOSARCOMA HE COULDN'T HANDLE THE THOUGHT OF LOSING ANOTHER LOVED ONE. SO WHEN THEY FINSHED REBUILDING THE RESTRAUNT THAT HE AND JOSH HARTNETT (JASPER) HAD ACCIDENTLY BLOWN-UP DURNING AN AUTOMOBILE RACE HE MOVED BACK TO BOSTON. AFTER BEING HOME FOR AWHILE HE REALIZED THAT HE DID NEED HER AS MUCH AS SHE NEEDED HIM. THE DAY OF THE RE-GRAND OPENING HE CAME BACK TO BE WITH HER UNTIL THE LAST OF HER DAYS ON EARTH HAD ARRIVED.
Rating: Summary: Leelee is a gift from GOD!!! Review: Well, to say the least I was impressed with the emotional melodramda that this film carried throughout. The range of acting that the beautiful and talented Leelee Sobieski brings to this film carries it entirely. Without her wise beyond her years screen pressence, this film could have easily failed as a tired retread. I am pleased with the fact that the great Leelee Sobieski will shine forever on this celluloid majic of a film.
Rating: Summary: Sad but warm story Review: Here on Earth is typically about a teenage couple (Sam and Kelley) falling in love. Kelley is the rich boy that got kicked out of private school, Sam is from an average middle-class town. When Kelley's fight with Sam's boyfriend gets out of hand, Kelley is forced to stay in town, working along side his enemy. To make matters worse, he begins to fall in love with Sam, and she with him. The movie takes you through their courtship in a moving and finally sad tale. Naturally, no one approves of their love, so they struggle to overcome several obstacles to be together. This story ends in a bittersweet way, but you'll have to see it to find out how. It is a good movie if you are into those sappy "chick movies".
Rating: Summary: Boring, boring, boring Review: I watched this movie on VHS and found it amazingly slow and dumb. Fans of Chris Klein will only be disappointed by how miscast he is as an angry rich kid.
