Summary: Too close to home
Review: A suprizingly stinging movie to those who have been divorced or who have had marital troubles.

So what's not to like about Bruce Willis and Michele Pfeiffer ideally mated in a movie? Well, dispite the fact that they are beautiful film stars, they are portrayed as a man and a woman with unfortunately normal problems that hit pretty much on target to myself and my wife (both second marriages).

He is wild eyed and spontaneous, she is preoccupied with the car not having wiper fluid. He likes sex with as the mood strikes, she wants to make sure that they haven't forgotten to put tooth fairy quarters under the pillows. I could go on and on, but if you have been in a long term relationship, this will hit you hard somewhere, because even the beautiful people with lots of money have pretty much the exact same kind of problems keeping things working right, man and woman wise.

Would have been 5 stars with a divorce at the end, but after 90 minutes of fighting, we get a last second syrupy ending. You can feel it coming, but still worth seeing.

Think of the title: "beautiful people act out the fight we just had yesterday".

Recommended for adults only, kids will yawn and newlyweds will remark "this could never happen to us".

Summary: Good for people who are serious about their marriage
Review: A movie tackling marriage problems and solutions for couples who thought they have lost their feelings for each other. Nonetheless, it comes lighter and easier than the Oscar and box office hit "American Beauty". There is no killing, adultery, teen sex and whatever weird that attracts audiences to the cinema. It only has regular husband and wife caught and worn out by heaps of daily particularities and thought that they had "grown apart".

Bruce Willis is never known to be a king of acting, but he is needed in the movie, for you need a husband to fight with a wife on minute things but then found that things are not that bad after all. Michelle Pfeiffer, playing an organised wife who wants everything to be done according to schedules and priorities, as a result have a lot to express to make the story of them complete. Both parties are doing just well and got the chemistry for this pair of couple. Of course, the supporting roles do help a lot in adding all the spices and sugar to the movie - how could you imagine a movie with only two stars sitting in the dining room talking for one and a half hour?

One more than - Eric Clapton's soundtrack is just too good to miss.

Summary: Pathetic
Review: Uuuuugh this movie was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. It not only features the most annoying and whiny yuppie couple to grace the sceen in years, but it is overly-sappy, sentimental, and the movie tends to repeat itself over and over again with the same lines, arguments, etc. In my opinion their entire problem lies in the fact that wife caters too much to her children's needs while neglecting those of her husband's. It's that simple. She should have told the children (who are not toddlers) time and time again that she was speaking with their father and that she would be with them in a minute. Oh, and the worst part of the movie was the last scene when Michelle Pfeifer gives this God-awful weepy and over-melodramatic speech which attempts to summarize why they shouldn't give up on their marriage. It's like listening to five munutes of someone scraping their fingernails across a chalkboard. Great actors/actresses, but awful material.

Summary: Very realistic for the down sides of marriage..
Review: I love a good romantic comedy every once in a while, but often times I'm left with the feeling "this does not happen in real life...... please!" This is a much more realistic movie. For those of you that don't have the "perfect" marriage, you will be able to relate to "The Story of Us."

Michelle Pfeiffer and Bruce Willis are excellent. They are basically at a point in their marriage when they are considering divorce, and one of their main concerns is their kids.

I felt most of the material in the movie to be very realistic with a good bit of humor intertwined to lighten the mood at times.

If you are not married or have never been in a long term relationship, you probably won't get the movie. My husband and I watched it together and both enjoyed it.

Summary: Must see for couples!!!
Review: This is a movie that does hit very close to home...that's what makes it so good! My husband and I were both in tears but the end, and we felt an instantaneous closeness at the same time. I loved the ending and highly recommend it for any married couples. It never hurts to remember why love is so precious.

Summary: A good film. Willis and Pfieffer play well together
Review: This is a good film. Harry and Sally-ish, but after the marriage. What happens in between children and meetings and chores and work??? Where does the love go? Excellent look at what we do to work it out and whether or not we can let go.

Summary: a male pig's perspective
Review: I'm sitting here, half drunk recently alone again. I put in the only "chick flick" romantic movie I own, "The Story of Us". Since the first time I saw this movie I have loved it, and I'm a war, epic film buff to see my collection. This is the only movie I asked for in my divorce because I wanted it THAT bad. Rob Riener's best work ever in my opinion. A movie that jumps around from place to time and back again so often, it keeps you riveted to the seat. The dialog is the heart of the story. And the way, under Riener's direction, Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer portray this stuggeling couple, makes me feel part of the story, not just watching it from a distance.

I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes sappy romance movies or believes in true matter of the heart.

Summary: BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I LOVED IT
Review: I BELIEVED MY HUSBAND ORIGINALLY PICKED OUT THIS MOVIE WHEN WE WERE TRYING TO FIND A MOVIE TO WATCH ONE NIGHT. WE BOTH ENDED UP LIKING THE MOVIE VERY MUCH. I ALSO RECALL A NIGHT MY HUSBAND BROUGHT THE MOVIE HOME, BECAUSE WE HAD NOT BEEN GETTING ALONG. I AM SEPERATING FROM MY HUSBAND WITH HOPES AND INTENTIONS THAT WE WILL BE TOGETHER AGAIN. AFTER DECIDING THAT A SEPERATION WOULD PROBABLEY BE BEST FOR US BECAUSE OF OUR CIRCUMSTANCES, I REMEMBERED THIS MOVIE. I WANT A FAMILY AND GOD WILLING MY HUSBAND AND I AND OUR LITTLE BABY WILL BE REUNITED AND WE WILL BE A REAL FAMILY.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not for everyone but very true for many
Review: O.K. love is not the same for all, however, this movie did demonstrate how love is shared for some couples. This film comes off so true for some of my experiences with love. Is this healthy love??? Maybe or maybe not the point is that loved ones that share so many years together is not always the smoothest road. For many it takes strugle and even a little tourment but the point of the movie is to show that even love that does not come easily is still wirth it.. I loved the movie because of how real it was for me. I know it was not that way for all that is just how I felt about it

Summary: One of my favorite movies.
Review: This is one of the most romantic, sweetest movies in my collection. Rob Reiner has done it again. I especially like the High/Low game...I play the game with my family now.
