I know many critics have said "Dying Young" wasn't a good movie, but I strongly disagree. I first watched the movie on TV, and later I got the DVD. Let me tell you I never get tired of watching this movie. It's such a powerful love story. I think Campbell Scott was fenomenal as well as Julia Roberts. The last scene is so beautiful. I love it. If you like a good tearjerker you must get "Dying Young"

Summary: An Absolutely Beautiful Love Story!
Review: "Dying Young" is one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever seen on film! The story centers around a woman (Julia Roberts) who is hired to take care of a cancer patient (Campbell Scott). When they first meet, they don't have the greatest respect for each other. Through time they both teach each other incredible things and eventually fall in love. What makes this movie so heart-breaking is Campbell Scott's refusal to continue his cancer treatment towards the end of the movie. I won't tell you what happens at the end, but believe me, you'll need plenty of kleenex - remember, crying doesn't necessarily mean a bad ending. :)

I would highly recommend this film. The characters are great, the casting is wonderful, especially the incomparable Colleen Dewhurst (Campbell Scott's real mother), and the film leaves you with a true feeling of hope and that all things are possible. Watch this film, you won't be disappointed!!!!!!!

Review: After seeing this movie, I made a voew never to sell the movie rights to any novel I may write. This was clearly a Hollywodization of a wonderful and complicated story. There was too much going on in this plot for it to have "and they lived happily ever after" as its implied theme. END

Review: Dyeing Young is one of my top 3 favorite movies of all time. I have seen it numerous times and still get impressed with both Julia Roberts and Campbell Scott's performance in the movie. I loved everything about it.

Review: Even though this movie could be called somewhat uneven, it works very well as a heartfelt, profound character study about two differently tormented people trying to cope with a tragic disease one of them has. Some of the parts in the film can be interepreted in different ways, but it definitely does not succumb to any simple solutions and never implies that life is easier than it seems.

Review: I had a real hard-time viewing this film. It is hard to watch a movie about someone going through chemotherapy. That is why I rated the movie low. If it doesn't bother you, you may give the movie a higher rating.

I also was not convinced by Julia Roberts performance and saw no reason for her to gradually fall in love with the gentleman that is going through the ordeal. He seemed to be very obnoxious the whole time!

If you want to see a really moving story with Julia Roberts about death, I highly recommend the movie Flatliners. Roberts gave a much better performance in that one.

Review: I loved this movie. It ranks in the top 5 for me. I thought Julia Roberts and Campbell Scott both did a wonderful acting job. Contrary to some previous customer reviews, I totally believed that Julia's character could and did fall for Campbell's character. I love movies that make me believe that it's still possible to find true love in this cynical world.
