Summary: Denzel goes crazy in John Q
Review: Ok, the synopsis for this movie is Denzel is the father of a boy that has heart problems so of course him and his wife will do anything to save their child's life but it cost more money than they can actually afford and the hospital is not willing to help them that much, so to get money they sell whatever they can. Things continue to be tough and the hospital is on its way to release his son that might die soon, so John Q (Denzel) holds an area of the hospital hostage until his son gets a new heart. A graphic PG-13 drama with some blood scenes and intense action, some scenes may not be for the weak hearted (no point intended). The last 30 minutes of the movie is the most intense part of the movie with an ending that is ok but could of been better. The dvd is full of special features. The movie was done by New Line Cinema which they now have a feature called Infinifilm which as tons and tons of special features, even more features than some 2 disc dvds. This dvd has all the basic features and deleted scences and commentaries and many more. Would I buy this movie? Yes I would, its another great Denzal Washington drama. Should you buy this movie? Sure why not.

Summary: If I could, I would give this movie 6 stars out of 5!
Review: This was really one of the best movies I have ever seen. I was crying like a baby the whole movie (don't giggle, you will be too when you see it). Denzel Washigton was really excellent in this movie. When you will watch it, you will feel emotion and love. Word of advice: Go and rent it NOW!!! Get the wife, girlfriend, boyfriend or family and ENJOY! ;)

Summary: Give me a break
Review: This movie has one of the lamest story lines in the modern era. Because the guy isn't smart enough to purchase coverage for a procedure his kid needs does it make it his health insurance companies fault? Hmmm, why didn't his EMPLOYER purchase the coverage? Heck, why didn't HE, the consumer, purchase the coverage. Nothing, including health care, especially health care, is free in this country. Someone conned Denzel into stooping low, low, low into accepting this role. He should have went door to door asking for donations - at least that's not illegal.

This is no different than blaming ... for the hot coffee that burned you and now you sued them for a ...Losses, whether they're hamburgers or healthcare, are passed on to the consumer. That's you and me Jack.

Summary: BRAVO
Review: This movie called John Q is an touching drama film. I was emotionally moved and at the same time I was informed on how this unjustice system works and it works like this......The rich lives and the not so rich dies. What is really going on? This is not just a movie, this is uncut reality. This movie was well put together from the actors and actresses all the way down to the props. There was some humorous scenes in this movie, but overall this is an heart racing drama. Denzell did an awesome job playing John Q, the desperate father willing to do anything to save his son, (who is in need of an heart transplant) including risk his own. Kimberely Elise plays Denzell wife and also does a good job playing a supporting wife and mother. Eddie Griffin plays as a hostage and contributes to some of those humorous scenes. This film is filled with a few well known actors and actresses and they all do excellent playing their part. This movie offers a priceless message. Life is precious and it shouldn't be waived for a price. Check This Out. One Love

Summary: Confronting a Critical Issue
Review: Denzel Washington stars as a frustrated factory worker confronted with saving his son's life in a medical crisis. The dilemma is how to receive an expensive heart transplant operation for his young son before he dies, a crisis developing from a heart seizure sustained while the youngster was playing little league baseball.

A strapped factory worker whose hours have been sharply cut back to twenty hours per week, Washington is unable to raise the huge funds necessary for the life saving operation for his son. As a result he ultimately takes events into his own hands by pulling a gun on chief hospital cardiologist James Woods and commanding that an operation be performed. Washington soon learns that his bold act leaves him in charge of the operating room, facing the same decisions confronting a trauma care physician.

Robert Duvall plays a police lieutenant specializing in crisis negotiation who seeks to talk Washington through his problem without bloodshed. Hospital administrator Anne Heche also appears on the seen to remonstrate with him.

Director Nick Cassavetes and screenwriter James Kearns take dead aim on one of the most critical problems confronting America as its heads into the twentyfirst century, that of providing affordable health care to its citizens, an issue that becomes increasingly critical when flashpoint life and death situations emerge, as depicted in "John Q." with Washington's son facing a "heart transplant or death" verdict. It is hard to confront such an issue without risking criticism for preachiness, but in this case a rapidly paced story format is also presented in which, the longer the confrontation develops between Washington and authorities, the more he appreciates the difficulty of the overall dilemma in which he finds himself immersed.
