Rating: Summary: Angel Eyes Review: I really enjoyed this movie. I remember seeing it a few years ago on my birthday, and I still enjoy watching it today. It's an interesting script about a cop named Sharon (Jennifer Lopez) who is at an accident where Catch (Jim Caviezel) is near unconcious and she pleads for him to stay with her. A year later, after a gang retaliates after an arrest Sharon makes, she puts herself in danger by trying to track down the criminal. The criminal almost kills her, but Catch saves her. Slowly they start to get to know each other, not knowing that they encountered each other the year before at the accident. She's a tough woman who is hurt by her painful past, and he's a man who is desperately trying to avoid his past and pretend like it didn't happen. She wants to know about him, but he has walls all around him and won't let her in. When she starts to piece together his past life, she remembers the accident and their encounter. She tries to force him to face his grief over the death of his wife and son (who were in the car accident with him, he was the sole survivor), she pushes him too hard and fears she's lost him forever. Afterwards he finds the courage to face what happened, and to talk to his wife and son at the graveyard. Meanwhile, Sharon has her own demons to deal with when she attends the ceremony in which her parents are being remarried. When she was younger, her father abused her mother and she called the police, and her whole family shut her out and never forgave her. While attending, trying to extend an olive branch, she realizes her family and most importantly her father will never forgive her. She runs into Catch again, and breaks down saying how unfair it is of them to punish her, since she did the right thing. It is only then when they connect and admit they love each other, and that it doesn't have to be perfect. I found this movie to be very touching and sensitive. I think this is one of Jennifer Lopez's best movies, she gives an excellent performance that is very intense and realistic.
Rating: Summary: My FAVE Movie - JLO's BEST and Jim C is FINE!!!!! Review: Like the back cover says their chemistry is sizzling !
I wish they had more shirtless pictures of Jim C in the movie...but hey I guess they wanted us audience to have more respect for his character (Catch) and see the depth of him. You *are* going to make an effort to overlook his handsome exterior to be able to notice the depth of his character.
JLO is absolutely STUNNING in this movie. She absolutely shines and if you have a heart she will win it. If you are jealious of her then you will be jealious that this movie shows she CAN act, she has plenty of depth, and is very captivating as Sharon.
Forget about 'the wedding planner' and 'anaconda' - they were BAD MOVIES and when you're new in acting you'll take anything. I cannot see anyone else play these parts besides Lo and C. They are PERFECT and the movie is a deep-sans-preachy flick.
Rating: Summary: A great movie! Review: This is a very good movie. It has made me a fan of Lopez. There is a real depth to her acting. Caviezel was also great in his role. While some may say his acting was stiff, I don't agree. This movie is not an action of supernatural movie. It's about decesions and events in the lives of the characters and how they cope with them. What is unique about this movie is that it never gets preachy or smary and like real life some issue are not resolved. A short scene near the beginning of the movie examplifies the realism of this movie. The scene involves Lopez on a date. Anyone would be hardpressed to believe that Lopez would have a hard time getting a date. The movie handles this in a credible way.
Rating: Summary: JLOve story Review: Here is a surprisingly good movie that has a poignancy I didn't expect. It revolves around the fallout of a horrible traffic accident and the long-term effects it has on two lives. One is the police officer (Jennifer Lopez) at the scene and the other is one of the many victims (James Caviezel). The accident causes their lives to be bound in a way that neither of them could have imagined. JLO plays a tough cop who is afraid of getting emotionally attached to people whom she encounters in her austere profession. Caviezel is a nice-guy extraordinnaire who is always looking to give people a hand. In their own way, both characters are out to help people, albeit via different approaches. The film does an excellent job of engaging an important but often ignored facet of today's society: domestic battery. It happens with egregious frequency these days, yet it continues to be a subject that is "swept under the rug." This DVD is bold in its presentation of what is a very touchy theme. Although JLO is usually best known for her appearance, in this film she demonstrates some credible acting talent. That was a bit surprising for me as I've only seen a few JLO movies to date. But, surprising in a positive way! If you like love stories / chick flicks, this one is highly recommended. If you want a love story with a few twists, this one is even better. Most of all if you want a movie that deals with current & relevant themes that effect today's society, this one is a can't miss.
