Review: Foxfire, starring Angelina Jolie and Hedy Buress, is quite possibly the best female bonding movie I've ever seen. The way five very different girls come together to form such a close group seems very unlikely, but is actually very true to life. If you are in need of a movie to show you what true friendship is for, this is definitely one you won't want to miss. I give it five stars plus.

Review: This movie really shows everything you need to know about what society's teens have to go through. Being a teenage girl I know how to relate to every girl in this movie. When you see this movie, you will get a taste of what every girl has to go through. Nobody believing anybody, and growing up in 90's. Out of my top five of the best 90's films I choose FOXFIRE!!!!!

Review: this is one of my fave movies. you absolutely gotta see Angelina Jolie before she was a major star. the cast does a superb job.

Summary: AN APPRECIATION OF A CHARACTER ACTOR
Review: His performance as the abusive teacher is one of the many reasons why John Diehl is my favorite actor. I think it's just about his best role . He is so natural as the teacher. I feel like I'm actually in a class. With that dorky song he sings while handing out the frogs and the joke he tells he sets up a persona that would make it hard for me to consider him a rapist: he probably received many best teacher/most popular awards and many students probably had crushes on him. But the mask quickly begins to drop as we see him increasingly abuse Rita-humiliating her with jokes then more anger and threats. To me he is the focal point of his two scenes and does a marvelous job of maintaining it -even when he is fighting with the girls.When he starts to rape Rita in detention he comes across as so nice concerned and [in his mind] helpful I'm really glad when they fight back. In many ways Diehl's performance is more chilling than his role as the gleefully sadistic prison guard in THE GRAVE. Cole was straightforward in his evilness. Buttinger is convinced he's really helping Rita "become the woman she was meant to be". I've seen reviews that claim the story is too shallow. I disagree. At the beginning it looks like Violet is actually enjoying what Maddie skates in on. This in no way begins to excuse Buttinger's actions but it sheds light on Violet. She quickly changes her mind when she discovers that Rita-someone much less mature and confident than herself -is being victimized and she immediately volunteers to help. I think this adds a depth to the story the critics missed. this movie is just one gem from a fine actor. i highly recommend John Diehl's other movies like THE END OF VIOLENCE, THE GRAVE, THE LAZARUS MAN, MOTORAMA, THREE WISHES, STRIPES, STARGATE. some of the roles aren't large but they are always good.

Review: A great film, showing the realities that teens of this generation face. This is one movie you can watch over and over again without getting board. The last three lines leave you in shock, begging for more. Disturbing yet energizing all at once this is one of the best films of 96.
