Rating: Summary: Fast paced action "on and off the ice" Review: An action packed movie that truly gives you a behind the scenes feel of the life of a hockey player trying to make it to the big league. Swayze and Lowe are fantastic in their roles especialy Lowe who plays the title role as Dean Youngblood. I advise anybody who likes hockey to buy it you can't lose.
Rating: Summary: It's the best hockey movie ever! Review: Anybody who doesn't like it because that they feel that it's too predictable is watching it from a bad point of view. This is the most accurate portayalof a young hockey player playing in the Juniors that I've ever seen!
Rating: Summary: Not the worst hockey movie ever, but not exactly the best Review: As much as I wanted to hate a hockey movie with Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze in it when it came out, it wasn't actually as bad as I thought it would be. The scenes on the ice are laughable, not just for the obscene WWF style fighting (even the minor leagues aren't this bad, and Canadian major junior, while having more fights than in American HS hockey, is nothing like the minor leagues), but with that ridiculous scene with Lowe and Swayze skating around in a circle and passing back and forth to each other. What was actually pretty accurate were all the scenes off the ice (at least the ones involving the team; I won't comment on the stupid love story). The locker room scenes and those in the bars are pretty dead on. Plus, the movie features future NHLers Peter Zezel and Steve Thomas when they were still in juniors as members of Rob Lowe's team (both were playing for the Toronto Marlboros when the movie was filmed). I think Zezel actually has a line! Plus, seeing Keanu Reeves pretend to have a French-Canadian accent is "worth the price of admission" alone.

Rating: Summary: A mission finally completed Review: Ever since the first time I saw this movie. I wanted to buy it. I have been searching for it for a long time and now I finally found it and bought it without hesitation. It is an awesome hockey movie that is perfect for any hockey fan
Rating: Summary: Predictable but good Review: Given that there are now only 3 hockey movies; Slapshot, Youngblood and Mystery, Alaska, I think this is still worth watching. The soundtrack for it is bitchin' and the action footage is pretty good. I do agree that the plot is predictable, but hey it is still a HOCKEY MOVIE! ;-)
Rating: Summary: ONE TIMER Review: GREAT MOVIE. ANOTHER FANTASTIC 80's FLICK. I LOVE WHEN ROB LOWE HAS THAT TEA PARTY...AND WHEN HE BEATS THE BULLY UP AT THE END.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Review: Hockey fans don't have many movies to call their own - it's simply not as glamorous or all-american a sport as baseball or football. This screenplay is a basic formulaic story with interesting trivia attached to it. Rob Lowe stars as Youngblood and he took his inspiration (he says) for the portrayal of his committed athlete character from a guy he went to high school with - DEAN CAIN. Cain, as fans of this "Superman" know, was committed to high school football, made all-American at Princeton, then went on to be a rookie with Buffalo Bills. This background makes for a guilty pleasure you don't always get from a sports film, or any film for that matter.

Rating: Summary: Outstanding Review: Hockey movies are extremely hard to come by, but I think that allows for the few to be the best. Who cares if the plot is predictable; it makes the movie even that more enjoyable. And lets be honest here: the movie is about HOCKEY! What more could you really want out of a movie?!? :)
