Review: This movie is excellent. Probably the best since "Titanic" maybe even better!!! It kept me on the edge of my seat, brought tears to my eyes, gave me hope and that warm fuzy feeling. It also made me want a horse again!!! It is an excellent show for all ages, from small children to adults who were small children when the events actually took place!!!

Review: How can this wonderful movie not outdraw the other trash at the theatres? It breaks my heart. This movie has so many wonderful lessons about life. Best of all the movie is all true.
1. Learn from your mistakes.
2. How to go on after tragedy strikes.
3. The importance of teamwork.
4. How disparate personalities can make the whole greater than the sum of its parts.
5. America as the land of opportunity.
6. At least 10 Kodak moments that will stay in your mind forever.
7. Miracles (see the last 20 minutes) do happen!
8. How America was (and hopefully still is) the Land of Opportunity.
9. When we complain about trivial problems these days let's not forget the horror of the great depression through which many of our grandparents survived.

Summary: Modern Day Hero...
Review: What can I add that the others have not so eliquently put in their reviews. I have seen this film twice and plan to see at least two more times as well as add the Directors cut to my DVD collection when it's available. This movie for me is more about the parallels in period and yearning for a modern day hero. In today's corrupt, disposable, uncertain society with jobs becoming a scarcity and the gap between rich and poor widening; this is a perfect setting for a little historic perspective. Seabiscuit truly was a larger than life distraction from everyday trials for not only Smith, Howard and Pollard but a nation hungry for something to hold onto. What a great reminder that serendipity lies in the strangest places. This movie takes all of the emotions of the period and plugs them into 2003. I will never forget what is happening today through the vehicle of what happened to a little brown horse 60+ years ago. This movie will be a constant reminder. Awesome film...measured on an emotion scale this one would be off the charts.

Summary: Best Movie of 2003!!!!
Review: What an AWESOME movie!! One of the best I've seen in a very long time and I'm sure it will stand the test of time for many years to come. With the likes of movies such as Gone With The Wind and The Titanic, who also have distinct historical reference, Seabiscuit unwinds around the depression and shows the lifestyles before and after very convincingly. Also, I thought it a wonderful touch in using Gary Stevens, who played George Woolfe, in this movie. Since Gary is one of the world's best jockeys, he definitely belonged in Seabiscuit and showed fans around the world that he can act and play a part as well as he can ride actual recent Kentucky Derby winners such as Thunder Gulch and Silver Charm to victory!! Salute! All in all, this movie portrayed REAL human emotions throughout and what can I say......it truly touched my heart.....

Summary: Absolutely charming & uplifting.
Review: Seabiscuit is a wonderful film. Rarely do you have an audience cheering during scenes but you just can't help yourself. There are a lot of cliches in the film but they work given the context of the story.Jeff Bridges is wonderful as the self-made man who believes that everyone (and everything) deserves a chance - sometimes a 2nd chance. Chris Cooper does a great job as the horse trainer. His low-key persona is very believable and his gift with horses amazing. Tobey Maquire really stands out as the angry, passionate jockey. The interaction between the main characters is fascinating. Each seems to feel lost & alone in the bigger scheme of things but when they come together, watch out! Their ability to bring out the best in each other and the small, bad-tempered horse make for a great story. My only complaint with the film is the obvious staging of some of the race footage. It's a bit distracting since the rest of the film is so seamless, but I can only guess how hard it would have been to accurately film the close-ups of the jockeys and some of the in-race conversations. If you want to see a movie that will lift your heart and leave you wanting more, Seabiscuit should fill the need.

Review: I like movies that show me something good. This movie did it. All the actors played their roles as if they were the real people. Tbe story flow was excellent. It made me cry, laugh, hopeful...I was on edge of my seat at times. The directors did a good job.

Review: One of the best movies of the summer, this is the inspirational tale of how three men train a small, weak horse to win championships. A bit confusing at the beginning, with three difrent stories of the three men before they ment. If you still can't decide what movie to see this summer, see this one. Touching, inspirational, and with the lesson of never give up on what you beleive in. A must-see

Review: I was thoroughly dissappointed in this movie. I grew up on the legend of Seabiscuit. I really was looking forward to this movie. I thought an R rating would have been more appropriate. The PG-13 is misleading. This 2 hour movie felt like 5 hours. I was tempted to leave after the first 30-45 minutes, but I stayed just to see if it would get better. It didn't. There were moments that were entertaining - though not many. I wouldn't bother to see this movie again on regular TV. I think I will only wear my Seabiscuit ballcap around the ranch now, rather than have anyone think I would endorse this movie.

Summary: I want to be a Jockey!!
Review: "Seabiscuit" is the kind of movie you weep through. You already know how it's going to end (the horse beats all the odds and wins the big race), and yet the journey is so touching and dramatic, you can't help yourself. It is a lovely film. Jeff Bridges has his best acting role to date, as Seabiscuit's millionaire owner, Charles Howard, who devoted his life to his horse's career. He went from bicycle repairman to auto tycoon, sadly suffering the death of his son and losing his first wife to divorce. Chris Cooper is the real star of the film! He plays Bill Smith, the out of work horse whisperer who discovers Seabiscuit's heart and trains him to win. Cooper says more with his eyes than most actors say with long speeches. Tobey Maguire plays Red, Seabiscuit's half-blind jockey, who overcomes a rough childhood and a shattered leg to bring the horse to his final and greatest victory. He was good, but I think Oscar-talk is exaggerated. Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens is very good in a small part as Red's jockey buddy. He has leading-man good looks and I hope more films are in his future. The film's only weak link is William H. Macy, who plays a thoroughly annoying radio announcer and was, no doubt, added for comic relief. The movie would have been just fine without him. The photography is absolutely breathtaking, from the lush, rolling green hills of Howard's ranch, to the heart-stopping horse race sequences. Randy Newman's musical score is a winner and stands on its own; poignant and heartbreaking in the epic landscape scenes, and martial and heart-pumping in the race shots. The direction was excellent; the Depression-era was faithfully reproduced in the costumes, sets, and especially the wonderful cars. The script was great; I am now anxious to read the wonderful novel by Laura Hilldenbrand. If you like horses, people, or longshot-makes-good movies, I'm sure you'll enjoy "Seabiscuit." That it is based on fact makes it even more memorable.
