Summary: lame, boring, bad from the bone.
Review: I saw this movie the day it hit my favorite cinema - and I have to say that this movie while not lulling me into deep sleep really made me wanting to vomit. It was totally boring, uninteresting and the plot was so absolutely dumb and stupid I had to keep me from smashing my hands against my forehead. I watched this however, a) because I have seen the trailer and it looked really great, b) because I like the sixth sense. well, I did not like this movie, sorry, I somehow am not able to get from that two hours of nothing happening outta there what the other reviewers seem to achieve from this flick. In one of the other reviews I read that the movie was perfectly written - how? what? Believe me, the thing I like best about movies is not two folks shouting each other while cursing, but the story behind the moving pictures. I also read a lot and I am very selective when it comes to calling a book good. This movie, the writing was awful, it was, sorry again, just lame, because a flick that needs more than two hours to produce something like a beginning of things, is just the unprofessional trials of a newcomer who got overwhelmed by his surprising success with his first movie. my advice: do not watch this!

Summary: Unusual.
Review: Dark comic-book tale about a comics-dealer who goes by the monicker "Mr. Glass" because he's stricken with a lifelong bone disease that renders his skeleton roughly equal to peanut brittle. He takes note of a man who is a lone survivor of a horrific train crash, and comes to the obvious conclusion: this lone survivor is the "yin" to Mr. Glass's "yang"; or in other words, his complete physiological opposite. The indestructible guy, played somnolently by an apparently drugged Bruce Willis, is slow to warm up to Mr. Glass's thesis that he (Willis) is indeed some sort of Superman . . . but then, our Superman has already proven that he's pretty dense, or at least has amnesia (he has to ask his supervisor how much sick leave he has. Yeah, right). All of this is incredibly silly, leaving one to come to the conclusion that the director, Mr. Shyamalan, has simply read too many comic books. But, dang-nabbit, he pulls it all off! *Unbreakable* is, in my judgment, a worthy follow-up to *The Sixth Sense*, and confirms Shyamalan as one of our most exciting new directors. The movie works not because of the plot details, but rather through Shyamalan's mastery of tone, of atmosphere, of creating a sense of dread. (Although he's a bit too showy in the first part of the movie when Willis is on the train -- the camera's all over the place, even in the crack between the seats. Fortunately, Shyamalan soon calms down.) Anyway, if you can put up with Mr. Willis' torpor, you should enjoy *Unbreakable*.

Summary: A Truly Great Film - Please don't compare to 6th Sense!
Review: This was a great film in the theatre. At the end, the audience was excited and many left speaking praises of the film. I found the movie thought provoking, and just flat out cool. Those that would compare this movie to "The Sixth Sense" do it an injustice. This is a completely separate movie that stands fine on its own legs. FIVE STARS *****

Review: I work at a movie theater and see all the movies that come out, so I feel that I have become kind of a critic. This is a very cool movie and I highly recommend it to anyone that had read comic books as a child. It sets a realistic believable ordinary man and puts a fantasy twist. By making the main character (Bruce) just like any other man makes the movie more real and makes me feel like super heroes really do exist. From the writer/director of The Sixth Sense Unbreakable.

Review: This movie is the best film I've ever seen. It has the quality hollywood can't handle. Too mature is for anyone to understand. This film is way ahead of it's time. M. night shyamalan is my new favorite directer.

Summary: A bad movie through and through
Review: After the Sixth Sense, an original and truly inspired movie by Mr. Shalamayan, what a disappointment. The scene with the kid holding the gun to his dad was both VERY laughable and unwatchable at the same time. The plot manipulated the audiences' emotions to such a degree, then let you down so hard you can almost feel it. I walked out on the ending, although I'm surprised I didn't walk out sooner. I hope the director uses his talent in the future to create and mold a great story, not a dorky comic-book-artist fetish like this one.

Review: Do yourself a favor and ignore some of the Hollywood reviews on this one. It was, without a doubt, the most though-provoking film I have ever seen. I won't say more...just watch it and enjoy the wonder that is UNBREAKABLE!!! I'M DYING FOR THIS TO COME OUT ON DVD!!!

The end brings everything together. Easily better than the Sixth Sense. This is a movie for Bruce Willis/Sixth Sense/M. Night/thriller fans. This is a movie for everyone!!

Summary: Quiet Fable about Self-Realization
Review: Unbreakable is quiet and moody. The visual style is still and almost claustrophobic, as though the world the characters live in is very small. I liked this, but more than that I loved the story, which is about self-realization. It was something I could relate to my own life and experience. The director picked a risky subject for a big-budget film. I also like the way he depicts husbands and wives; the relationship between David (Willis) and Audrey (Wright Penn) is beautiful. I could feel their awkwardness, their sorrows, their hopes. The director is very special in that he has the ability to create a plot so grand that it bears hard on the imagination, yet he keeps his characters subtle and ordinary. This is a good balance. The result is drama, not melodrama. Due to its pacing (compare a vinyl record to a compact disc), lack of special effects, and melancholy tone (without horror or gore as a "reason"), this film will not appeal to a lot of people. Personally, it was one of my top five films of 2000.
