Summary: Best American Film of the 90s
Review: All right! So there are plenty of directors making effort on the visual effects, sexuality, violence, and low quality jokes in their films, but here comes an exception. Smoke Signal gives the true relationship between human on the sceen (not human to angel, human to robot, or human to monster). This film also gives a great deal of reality, the life of very normal people (not a story about a millionaire, a superstar, or a presidant). Also This movie has the most important fact of a successful film, the brilliant emotion. That's why I say this is the best film of the 90s. 'Cause when the action movies, senseless trageies, and stupid comedy are (were) praising in some low quality awards. I do expect movies such as Smoke Signal can be produced more and more.

Summary: Must see for all film lovers!
Review: SMOKE SIGNALS is a penetrating and hilarious examination of contemporary Native American life. The acting is superb; the writing strong; the message poignant and powerful. Loads of laughs and tears. A must see film missed by most.

Summary: Unusually good American film
Review: We loved this movie the first time, and watched it again with a friend and loved it just as much or more the second. I never watch movies twice but made a willing exception for this one. It is also one of a very few movies I would like to own. I want to say thanks to the director, actors, and all who were involved. Wish there were more like this, intelligent, funny, human, thought-provoking.

Summary: Very good movie
Review: This movie made me think about the simple things in life which should be more important to us than wealth and fame. I am a chippewa indian and try to live by these words myself.

Summary: Oh Man what A Great Show
Review: If you like the ending to be a little comfortable, you will love this movie. Great direction, acting and production will make this film a keeper for years to come. One of the best in a couple of decades. True human spirit and false hopes. This one masters all.

Summary: More than what first appears
Review: The surface presents a simple movie...a mild black comedy of two American Indians on a road trip quest. To drop below the surface, we see the essence of healing and transformation within the human condition presented in a most unabtrusive fashion. It stirrs the brokenness within each one of us, with the hope of becoming whole.

Summary: wow
Review: I am adding this to my all time favorite movies list...Moon Struck, The Man Who Would be King...simply a good story. It was a real treat to see one of the stars of Disney's Lost in the Barrens (great film and book for teenagers) all grown up and so refined. I loved watching these men, I loved the music, I loved the way they were living day to day in their own time pace. I loved the lack of violence and sex. Excellent!

Summary: Great insight into Indian culture & father issues.
Review: Excellent viewing! Great characters and storyline provides a warming insight into Indian culture. Also deals with the ever-common theme of father issues that many of us examine as adults.

Summary: Felt like home! Filled a void in my life!
Review: THANK YOU! This movie was just what I needed to fill an empty space inside me. I am Cherokee Indian but I live away from my people and I miss the togetherness and the belonging feeling that I get when I go home to the mountains. This movie takes you home and makes you happy for awhile. It takes you into the lives of some very ordinary people that have a different way of thinking about life. It reminds you that through lifes hardships that love, loyalty, and respect will prevail. It also gave me a chance to see some of the best looking Native American men ever! OH-LA, Adam, Evan, and Michael!
