The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Summary: an instant hit for us
Review: We rented this movie while we were overseas, and had to extend the rental period several times, as it became a hit for the entire neighborhood. The animated version does not do justice to the story, but this version follows nearly word for word. Granted, it isn't made with special effects to rival modern sci-fi or fantasy movies, so if your children pay more attention to the special effects than to the story, then this might not be for you. Perhaps someday soon someone will remake the story with modern technology, but until then, this remains in my opinion second only to reading the book.
