Summary: A MOVIE WITH A SAD BUT BEAUTIFUL ENDING
Review: Nicholas Cage did very well in this movie and so is Meg Ryan(coming movie You Got Mail). A movie for couple. Do watch it with your loved ones and you will realise you shall never take your loved one for granted. Do treasure one another and enjoy the movie

Summary: if you loved casper(the remake) you'll love this....
Review: From the lovely people who have conned you for years, comes another reduction of an international film scaled down to easily consumed bites by the people who hate you. Wim Wenders masterpiece "Wings of Desire" has been re-made. Why not? Gus has re-made "Psycho" and I've heard Bergman's greats are under revision as well. Has Hollywood finally become this pathetic? Surprise! History has always been written by the most underhanded and greedy. " Wings of Desire" was the upside to the only slightly less successful "Far Away, So Close". The upside, of course, is always more profitable. With the success of the inhumane series "Touched by an Angel", certain suits saw Wender's international hit as an idiot's goldmine. The stars are redundant. Box-office ecstasy! There is only a skeleton here of the ORIGINAL, as angels and humans alike deal with more "carnal" concerns. Unfortunately, the only telling critique I can give is to compare it to the original(and the sequal), but subtitles are so hard to read. Maybe it is best, after all, to swallow. (By the way, 1 star is the lowest I am allowed to give).

Summary: Great Movie
Review: I thought that City of Angels was a very touching movie. I got a chance to experience the movie with my boyfriend. That made it more wonderful. It just makes you realize the things that people will do for love. And how strong it is. I loved it and would like to see it again and again.

Review: I want to pay full-price for cut-the-last-30mins version.I'm not the who searching for only happy ending movie but it's a real disappointment.Maybe the director's never be lucky in love so he did this movie.

Summary: Casting is the best thing in Angels
Review: One of the reasons Angels got more compliment than it should is brilliant acting by Nicky and Meg.It DOES help a lot with movie that has nothing in it but magnetic stars.

Summary: Absolutely wonderful filmmaking...
Review: "City of Angels" isn't one of those movies in which you leave the theatre with a humungous smile on your face, laughing all the way to the car while popcorn residue falls from the front of your shirt. In fact, it's possible to really dislike this film right after you see it. I know I left the theatre saying, "They can't do that! They just can't do that!" But after about a week of sitting at stop lights drenched in seemingly eternal crimson and haggling over mountains of bills, certain images work their way into your consciousness, images from the film you saw a week ago, and you can almost feel an angel's hand on your shoulder as you stand in the ten items or less line at Lucky. The beauty of this film, for me, lies as much in the world it creates as well as the story it tells. Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan create an amazing, if improbable, chemistry through which we feel every emotion in front of us; Dennis Franz gives an exceptional performance as the lovable fallen angel; And then there's Andre Braugher, who I believe is one of the finest actors anywhere, period. But the true credit for this film's stunning grace is deserved by director Brad Siberling. The world which he creates is one of angels and humans, but not a world in which those angels play baseball or are obsessed with death. "City of Angels" is about life, and Siberling's angels are appreciators of humans, doing so quietly, and yet with immense strength. The direction of their placement is perfect, and each action of theirs reminds us of an appreciation for humans (and life)that gives Cage's character all the more beauty, and credability in the closing scenes. Indeed, it is the nuances of "City of Angels" which make it so good. The supplemental material on this Special Edition DVD gives us insight into those nuances, and is just another example of why this format should be supported. "City of Angels" is a movie which becomes a part of you. It teaches how incredible the human experience really is. And when you believe that, you can almost feel an angel smiling right at you.

Summary: Best movie of the year...
Review: This movie touched me in so many ways. It was refreshing to see a true love story, and the lengths that both characters would go to to attain those feelings. I found the movie comforting, knowing that someone out there is watching over us...

Summary: Ending destroys the film.
Review: This movie was going along great until it came to the end. A wonderful love story that shows what lengths some will go to find true love. I was really enjoying this film, until the end came and destroyed it. I think that whoever made this film found that s/he could not find true love and therefore let's just go and destroy a perfectly good movie and make everyone else miserable like myself. Get this movie and you will be disappointed in the terrible ending.
