Summary: A good love story with an unexpected ending
Review: This is a good story depicting how important love really is and what one individual goes through to experience it for the first time. Cage finds a better role here than in some of his attempts at action and Ryan does a wonderful job as usual. The soundtrack makes the movie that much better and helps to bring out the emotional aspect of the film. The ending isn't what everybody expects or necessarily wants to see but not all movies should end the way we want. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to be emotionally moved by a drama.

Review: Since I know what it is like to experience the loss of your sole mate and lifetime partner the ending was a real disappointment since they had worked so hard to find and be with each other. The acting was fantastic, the words and sentiments expressed were heart wrenching. Good movie for watching at home with a kleenex box next to you.

Summary: This movie completely entranced me.
Review: This was such a great movie. Cage and Ryan really pull you into the story. It shows so well what some people will got through to find true love. At every point in the movie, Cage looks like he's about to break down and cry but that just makes you empathize with him even more. The only thing that really surprised me was the ending. When Meg Ryan was riding her bike back home I was thinking that this was going to be such a great ending to the movie and it was really going to lift me up. I was devastated when I saw what happened. I was crying histerically and my friend had to console me. However, like Cage said in the end, it's better to have one hour with the person that you truly love then live an eternity without them. This movie is all about true love and the lengths that someone will go to to reach it. Difinitely spend your money to buy it.

Summary: Great cinematogrophy - OK story - Good extras on the DVD
Review: I'd give it 2.5 stars if I was able... I was enjoying this movie up until he took the leap - then it all became contrived and far to sappy for my tastes. Although after watching all the extras included on the DVD (music videos too), I came to appreciate the vision of the film makers. Visually the movie is stunning and is worth a $4.00 rental price just for that (but I personally won't be purchasing it).I was enjoying the story line and Nick Cage's acting up until the point he lept.

Review: this was one of the most touching,outstanding,and would have been one of the best movies if it wasnt for that oh so sad ending.it depressed me greatly thinking that true happiness is not always there.That sometimes for love you go to great lengths for absolutly NOTHING!!!

Summary: Wings of Desire sans poetry
Review: This movie has awed lots of people. Probably, most of them are yet to see Wim Wenders "Wings of Desire" and better yet, "Faraway so Close", films on which this one was inspired. Basically, City of Angels gets some of the best aspects of the original, and removes all the poetry from it, and makes sure it's more Hollywoodian. The emotional aspects are treated in the usual artificial manner, which greatly detracts from the experience. Do yourself a favor, and watch "Faraway so Close", you can't go wrong.

Review: But, the movie side was fine. I thought this movie was one of the very best 'chick flicks' I've ever seen. I'm one of those 'tough guys', but I cried from 2/3 through the movie to the end...

Summary: The best love story I have seen.
Review: The movie showed just how far someone would go to be with the person that they love. Both Cage and Ryan made the "acting" part seem so natural. I could see the love between them. I was a little disappointed with the ending, but I also realize that it was very true to life. Not all "love stories" have a happy ending. Sometimes life is cruel as depicted in this movie. It made me realize that time is very precious and that when you find what you want, you have to reach out and take it because it could be gone in an instant! Definitely brought tears to my eyes! I highly recommend seeing it! Excellent movie!
