Summary: Great movie, but disappointing and senseless ending
Review: I really enjoyed most of this movie, Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan are both fantastic at what they do and I always enjoy them. The ending in this movie, however, was just plain dumb to me and it would have been easy to have a happy ending in this movie - sometimes a happy ending is nice! But, who in the world would ride a bike on a roadway with their eyes closed and arms out like that? That part ruined it.

Summary: "City of Angels"- Poor Copy of "Wings of Desire"
Review: "Angels" is simply a bad movie, whether you compare to Wim Wenders' masterpiece "Wings of Desire". "Angels" has only boring dialogue interjected with scenes of pretty Meg Ryan looking tentative. If it's trying to emulate "Wings", it has failed terribly. :-( Please watch "Wings" or Wong Kai-wai's "Fallen Angels" instead.

Summary: A heavenly taste of love, joy, sacrifice and sorrow.
Review: What can one say?? No it isn't Wings of Desire...but setting poetic license aside....this is an all round feel good/hanky pic. Dennis Franz and Andre Braugher really give wonderful support to two of the best actors around. It just a fabulous love story...what more can one want??? After all...life does not always have a happy ending...so why expect it in this movie.

Summary: A truly emotive film with subtle side effects
Review: Starting on an emotional note, the films' creators succeed wonderfully in evoking an array of emotions in the viewers through the course of the movie. The special features enhance the understanding and appreciation for many aspects of the film, some which may be easily overlooked. The soundtrack has an amazing variety, boasting the talents of newer and older artists alike. Each viewer can, if he or she desires, empathize with Cage's or Ryan's character--their heightened emotionality for another being. With the "obligatory" ending, we each carry with us a different, yet tenacious, memory from the movie; and as certain events in our lives pass, we can recall the movie's theme of the presence of angels all around us . . . truly powerful.

Summary: I thought it was romantic and everyone should watch it.
Review: I thought it was a very good movie that everyone should watch. It shows what the true meaning of love, friendship, and heartbreak. I'm usually not that big of a Meg Ryan fan but she proved me wrong in this film. GIVE THIS MOVIE A TRY!!!!

Review: This was the best movie of 1998. It gives us all a needed boost of spirituality. We all will never fear death again thanks to City of Angels.It may not be what happens to us when we die but at least now death can make sense. Just magnificent performances by Ryan and Cage.
