Summary: Big waste of time & money!
Review: This movie without a doubt is the worst that I have seen. I dont think I will be able to go see another cruise flick ever again. The entire theatre of people marched up for a refund after the show! This movie was a prime example of what film makers do when they want to make the quick buck. Please Dont waste your time and money. Not even worth renting. If you choose too, just remember I told you so!

Summary: When will it end?
Review: For all the pseudo-intellectuals out there, I guess this was really neat-o but for us common folk, it was really way too long and boring. My buns got tired, I totally lost interest and thought I'd wasted a lot of time and money. If I don't leave the movie feeling uplifted, enlightened, angry or sad, then I feel I've wasted time and money. All this one did was make me wish it were over quickly! Of course, I like movies that play to my emotions rather than my need to feel good by imagining myself to be an intellectual so take my comments with that in mind.

Summary: Very Surreal
Review: This is not your typical Crowe/Cruise Film. Its a very artistic journey through the human mind. It does jump from past to present. It can be hard to keep up, so if you are looking to veg out, try a different film. Its somewhat predictable until the last 30 minutes. The ending is so different; it really catches you by surprise.

The cinematography and the Crowe passion for music make it worthwhile to see on the screen. Cameron Diaz is a delight.

Summary: Great movie!
Review: I don't listen to the other reviewers but I thought this movie was really good. It's about a confused man who is really paronoid about his life right after what happened to him. He got in a car accident with his girlfriend and she died but the man survived. He gets really paronoid about strange things and he can't get over it. It is a weird movie but it's good! If you hadn't seen it yet go see it or if I were you and don't want to see it in the theaters wait till it comes out on video!

Summary: Not a Vanilla Sky
Review: I do not recommend anyone to watch this movie. I expected probably too much from this film. Unfortunately, my expectations were ruined. I wasted almost three hours of my time. This movie deserves to be rated as - (minus) 5. The ONLY good thing about this movie was the song by Paul McCartney in the very end of the movie.

Summary: Awesome Film
Review: A lot of people think Vanilla Sky was really hard to follow, thus making it "terrible", "stupid", "convoluted" and my personal favorite, "the worst movie ever". The main problem is that people didn't get it, so they think there's something wrong with the film because it's not chewed up enough for them to swallow. But take it from me, it's really not that difficult to comprehend. You could watch the last 20 minutes of the movie and understand what happened. The majority of the movie is there to mislead you and get you to try to figure out what's going on when really it's nearly impossible until you see the ending. The acting was good, the characters were richly developed and likeable and the plot was more grasping than most of the fluff on the screen this year. I wasn't bored at all, and the ending left me with a great sense of joy. But that's me. You may like it a lot less.

Summary: Let this one fly away in the sky
Review: To start, Vanilla Sky is one of, if not the worst movies I have ever seen. Seriously. They don't come much worse than this. It really comes to show that putting a pretty boy like Tom Cruise in front of the camera won't save any film.

Why is this movie so bad? The script. The ideas are way too far fetched, even for the average Joe like me that goes to movies for the pure enjoyment of it. Not to find bizarre enjoyment of ripping them apart in reviews. Vanilla Sky just wasn't believable. You can accept movies that are a little out there if there is some basis for their strangeness. But, there wasn't any for this film. It's as if the scriptwriter paid no attention to what the viewer would want to see, and only wanted to put something out there that was fresh and original. He didn't really achieve this since total [junk] in Hollywood isn't too hard to come by these days.

Tom Cruise better make a movie fast before everyone in the land realizes Vanilla Sky is by far the worst movie of the year, and definitely ranks as one of the worst of all time. 1 star (obliged to)

Summary: Delicious Vanilla Sky....
Review: This movie is a triumph for Tom Cruise, and another wonderful addition to director Cameron Crowe's list of great movies. It starts off fast, and keeps the pace all the way through. Tom stars as a "spoiled" rich kid, who appears to have everything. But there are holes in his perfect world, and then he mistakenly blows off the girl who is in love with him, who he treats like bed candy. He can't know how this will change his life. That it happens on his birthday, is very significant. There are twists and turns and complications you have to really keep your eyes on, but they are all worth it. It's a great film about love, death, mortality, beauty, wishes, dreams, and what small moments and small decisions can do to change everything in big ways.

Highly recommended for those who take everything they have for granted, and think the "ride of your life" is just about how much you can have. This movie also punches holes and pokes fun at Cruise's own "beautiful image" in wonderful and deep ways- and I mean that sincerely. I am sure it even made Cruise think about his own life a lot.

That said- the women in this film hold their own, and are wondeful catalysts for everything that our dear Tom goes through. Cameron Diaz is especially wicked, and Penelope Cruz sensually splendid, and moving as well.

Don't miss this one, because if you do, you will miss a lot. Cruise running through an empty Times Square is very poignant, and disturbing. All of it together is a mind bending run you won't soon forget.

This bit of Vanilla is never less than a thousand flavours at once, and overwhelming, but in the best way.

Enjoy!!! "Open your Eyes!!"

Summary: Monet skies
Review: Well, I don't care what people say, this is a very good movie. And I think it's a mistake to compare it with Abre Los Ojos, because this is another film, made by another director and another crew. First of all, we have Cameron Crowe who really knows how to show human feelings in a single scene.

But if we need to compare it with Abre Los Ojos, I'd have to say this one is way better. The production level is much superior and I don't mean about money, I mean brains. I know a lot of people didn't understand it, but come on... we're talking about people who wants to see just brainless plots like Charlie's Angels. This was a very fresh movie, very enjoyable and very nicely done. The music is great, Cruise is fabulous. Penelope Cruz, Jason Lee and Kurt Russell are great, too.

But this is not a movie about a rich guy and an accident, it is a movie about feelings, about loneliness, about wondering how sweet is the sweet when you don't know how bitter tastes. Even though this is a remake, Crowe leaves his mark and that is talking about things he obviously knows, things he have felt. Like every great director, Crowe has a thematic persistance: human nature, human relations, human feelings, human emotions...

Bottom line, it is a good movie, worth seeing, if you like a plot with brains. If you like American Pie, go see something else.
