Summary: Most of the viewers here felt the same as I did
Review: This movie was terrible. We like Tom Cruise and went for that reason only. We went to see another movie a couple of days before that and the young man who was taking up tickets told us Vanilla Sky was terrible. Foolishly, we did not listen to him and went to see it. What at mistake!!!!!!!! We did tell that young may we would take his advice from then forward. We wanted our money back because it was WASTED money.

Summary: Avoid it.
Review: This is a very bad film. It is pretentious, badly written, confusing, badly acted and directed. Otherwise it's fine. What a 2 1/2 hour waste of time!

Summary: Perfect illusion ?! Definitly!
Review: What is dream, what is reality? What a story! Quite different from many other movies, where you always know the next step. As a remake of the spanish movie "abre los ojos" (open your eyes) this copy is overwhelming and much better than its original. And the best idea was to engage the same main actress - Penelope Cruz - in this US-Version. Cruise and Cruz form a perfect couple. And what a surprising end! Were will David Aames open his eyes ???

Summary: Superb!
Review: The ultimate lovestory disguised as science fiction. David (Mr Cruise) has everything. Ms Diaz (she'll love you 4 times a day, but don't kiss and tell), his fathers publishing company and magazine (hey 51pcnt runs the show), nice pad, great friend and everybody juts loves citizen dildo (cruis's nickname in the movie). Say you still have all this, but your vanity gets hurt one day and you feel you just can not go on and someone then offers you a chance to start all over and live the life of your choosing for all eternity what do you do? Do you base it on Ms Diaz - no! Do you base it on your money - no! Do you base it on being Mr popular - no! Do you base it on power - no? Do you base it on your great friend - no! You base it on 30 minutes you had with a coincidental friend of a friend or in other words a woman you have only met for 30 minutes, but in that short time have fallen so utterly and deeply in love with. Absolutely superb!! Thumbs up to all involved! The only science fiction about this one is 'Who on earth would swap Ms Diaz for Penelope?'

Summary: A work of art!
Review: Vanilla Sky, isn't your normal typical film, it's different. It's a movie with surprises, a movie with surprises are what most films today lack!
I'm the type of guy who when I watch or read a story and in the end it turns out as a Dream, I get very upset. This movie was something along those lines. But why you say, did I give this a 4/5, is because every second of this movie was precious! THis move gave you great acting, Cameron Diaz's best role in a movie, Tom Cruiz was great, That Cruize chick wasn't the best, but you can't complain about her pretty face. The story has suspense, it gives you unanswered questions but sooner or later you figure it out!
Overall it was a good story, the ending had to depend on the viewer!

Summary: My favorite Tom Cruise movie by far
Review: Sorry to everyone who agrees otherwise, but I absolutely loved this film. I dont know, I really can understand everything that happens and for me there are no loose ends. I thought it was great and during the whole movie I was trying to guess you know "I think I know whats happening now," but no, its filled with suprises all the time. Something about it, when its released on DVD it will be like a holiday for me. It's hard for me to explain how I felt about it... I thought it was cool, sad at times, funny, crazy, all these emotions. Mainly just "cool". I reccomend everything check it out and see if you like it. It seems to be a Love it or Hate it film so...

Summary: I Loved this film!
Review: Sorry, but I loved the story, I loved all of the performances, and I even loved the ending. Tom Cruise is without a doubt at the top of his game right now. Vanilla Sky & Eyes Wide Shut are two remarkable movies that any actor would rightly be proud of. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that the side-shows of "Tom and Nicole" or "Is Tom Gay?" have colored and therefore detracted from the superior product Mr Cruise has supplied us with.

These reviews are really only recommendations based on one individuals perception. I highly recommend that you go see this film and form your own perception. I think it was one of the years best films. So shoot me....

Summary: A Movie Of Great Intrigue!
Review: This movie opens with quite an amazing sequence-Tom Cruise wakes up in his plush apartment and leaves to go to work.Bit by bit he notices that the streets are deserted,it becomes more bizarre as busy places around Central Park are completely devoid of any traffic. He checks his watch in case he's woken too early, but it's rush hour according to his watch. Finally he reaches a totally deserted Time Sq. and there is no one about. All the while the amazing sound of Radiohead's "Everything In It's Right Place" accompanies this surreal event.Of course it's all a dream and thus begins a tail where the mix of dreams and reality become a compelling and oft twisting story.

Tom Cruise plays a glamorous playboy, who's inherited his father's publishing empire. He's a brash yet funny,a vain yet at times unlikable person. He's dating Cameron Diaz-who's a wannabe actress and the relationship appears to be quite casual. On the night of his birthday party Penelope Cruz arrives in with his friend. She appears diiferent in her manner to anybody whom the Cruise character has met before. He immediately becomes infatuated with her.It is around this trio that the very basis of this story evolves-well a very bizarre love-triangle.But this story runs far deeper then that.Diaz doesn't share the casual relationship that Cruise wants. She says that "when you sleep with someone your body promises, quite often what your mind does not".She now plays a stalker in an icy-cold fashion sometimes delirious other times seeming to be in full control. You begin to think that this maybe Fatal Attraction revisited.A car crash ensues which changes the characters and alters this whole story immeasurably. To give any more descriptions of what happens from here would ruin this story for those who have not seen it.Suffice to say that all is not what it seems--or is it?Confusing?Yes it most certainly is.The story is all about honesty and vanity, dreams versus reality, life versus death-you're just never fully sure what is really going on.Yet despite all this confusion I never found myself bored and was intrigued throughout.

This movie is worth seeing a couple of times.Questions maybe answered more clearly and things that are said may make more sense on repeated viewing.Having seen it once I'm still not sure what it was all about-yet that is one of the things I enjoyed about it.I keep thinking about it regularly and would hate in some ways to have all my questions answered.I enjoyed it immensely-yet I can see that had I been in a different mood I may have found it complete rubbish.I'd love to see the original Spanish version to see how they differ. The soundtrack is just unbelievable, one of the best I've ever heard. All in all seeing this movie was a thoroughly enjoyable yet confusing, escapist and thought provoking movie

Summary: Puzzling, but brilliant
Review: I heard my husband comparing this movie to "Sixth Sense", while to me the only thing that vaguely resembles it that I am familiar with is the mystery book "Fear" by L. Ron Hubbard. Like the book, this movie is intense, exciting and full of suprises, last but not least the ending, which may cause several people to leave the theater with a "Huh?". It might take futher thought and analysis for many, to understand this movie for real. But nonetheless, this movie is great. The acting is great, the story is intriguing and will keep your eyes glued to the screen, the meaning is deep and will keep you thinking for days. I have never seen Tom Cruise in such a deep, meaningful movie and I must say I am very positively impressed.

I know a lot won't like it, because I know a lot won't understand it. And that's the only reason why anyone would not like this movie, because they don't get it. Open your mind, read between the lines, skip the shallow and go to the core. And you'll understand how true is what Sofia says "Every passing moment is a brand new chance to turn it all around".

Summary: Wow!
Review: These days, most of the movies that come out from Hollywood are junks anyway & in many instances, we already know the ending even before watching the movies. Vanilla Sky, however doesn't belong to the movie genre that I just mentioned. Rather, it's filled with multiple layers or textures, whichever audience would like to define it, & it's got enough twists to confuse & dazzle us until the very end when the punch line delivers effectively & definitely. I wouldn't define Vanilla Sky as a Tom Cruise movie but a collaborative effort of other stars & the production crew who certainly has produced one of the most surprising hit for this year. I would unconditionally recommend Vanilla Sky to whoever who is open-minded & those audience who likes a challenge. Remember, every & each clues thrown at us during the movie, albeit how insignificant they might be all add up towards the end. Perhaps, this is what Tom Cruise defined as a modern day love story but I would like to think it also as a movie about life. Highly recommended
