Summary: Convoluted Nonsense
Review: Others here have done a great job of describing the basic plot of this film, but after watching it on pay-per-view it was just so bad that I feel compelled to write something to voice my outrage at having actually spent money to be witness to such a disaster.

First off, the plot is terrible. There are so many flashbacks and flash-forwards going on that it seems like a bad Pulp Fiction clone. Add to that the extra twists from Cruise's character suddenly having scenes that completely contradict other scenes in the film, and you're left with an experience that essentially has your face locked in a perpetual "what the heck is going on" look. I'm an educated person and like to think that I can handle plot twists, but this was even too much for me.

It's definitely not a film where you'll fall asleep, but it's one where you have to fight the urge to say that the money you spent just isn't worth the time you'll be watching this lemon. Were I you, I'd wait until it comes on HBO or some other such movie channel -- at least then you can change the channel without having wasted anything other than some of your time.

Summary: There's two hours I'll never get back
Review: Ugh. Ugh. Blech. Puke.

Aside from those coloful words....I hated this movie. Sure, Cameron Diaz gives a good performance, but Tom I-Can't-Act-My-Way-Out-Of-A-Paper-Bag Cruise, who needs to marry Penelope Cruz and get it over with, stunk up this movie (Penelope kinda did, but the fact that you can't understand a word she says is probably the reason)

There is no real plot to this movie. THere's an underlying plot of a man, horibly disfigured, tryng to prove his innocence. The rest is a situation that could possibly happen. A man cheats on his girlfriend...kinda...and the girlfriend runs off the road in a car with him in it (Why Tom never tried to take control of the wheel is something that baffles me). The movie goes downhill from there. It becomes confusing. It has twist ending written all over it. A good twist ending movie never lets on that there is a twist ending until it happens.

So Cameron is dead. He begins a passionate affair with Penelope...kinda...but then Penelope starts becoming Cameron. He smothers Cameron, and is thrown in jail for it (You know, if he was living in Washington DC, maybe Precrime could have stopped it...okay, not funny...so shoot me)

This is the point in the movie where the underlying plot takes over (Kinda like Memento). But this is where the people making the movie try to explain every little twist to us. Hey, had you guys ended it about twenty minutes before the actual ending, it might have been better. Up There with Mulholland Drive confusing-ness, I mean.

This is what really kills the movie. It becomes boring. It drags. Instead of trying to understand the movie, you find yourself wishing it was over. The details of the ending become so overlapped and over explained that it just drags.

The DVD ended and I went right to sleep I was so bored. There are better movies you can see in the two hours it takes to watch this movie that are all ready out on DVD and video. A Beatiful Mind...Gosford Park...Moulin Rouge. A waste

Summary: The original was better
Review: I gave it only two starts because I don't like the remake as much as I enjoyed the original movie.
This movie is a remake of "Open Your Eyes" (same leading actress in both movies), originally in Spanish, but believe it or not, the Spanish version was more enjoyable and more understandable (in spite of the subtitles).

Good only for Sci-Fi fans and the rest of you won't really enjoy it or understand what went on.

Summary: You have a choice of either DVD or VHS
Review: At least you can stop the tape in the very first minute that you feel like your ready to snooze, Thats more of a choice than I had sitting in a movie theater watching this borefest. What Tom Cruise's character does at the very end of the film is something he should have done in the very beginning of this [bad] movie.
Rain Man Good, Cocktail, Good Color of Money Good, A few good Men Good!, Dont bring up Vanilla Sky, Tom and we will be able to sweep this one under the rug.

Summary: Great movie if you pay attention
Review: I was suprised at how many people didn't like this movie. I loved it. This movie requires the audience to pay attention. I had heard about the twist at the end of the movie before I saw it and I think that helped me enjoy the movie much much more than I would of had I not known. I think part of the reason I enjoyed it more than some is because I remember what it's like to feel like you've met the love of your life, get so close and then find they are unreachable... I really imagined what it would be like to be in David's(Tom's) shoes and I sympathized with that feeling of wishing you could wake up and end the nightmare. The REM music in this film almost send shivers down my spine as well...

I also liked the original movie, abre los ojos (Open your Eyes) which this movie is closely based on.

If you are in the mood for mindless entertainment, this movie isn't for you... If your in the mood for a thought and feeling provoking movie, watch this and pay attention. If you don't know the twist at the end, you may have to watch this twice to really enjoy it.

Summary: Come on people. Open YOUR eyes.
Review: I was really excitde to see this movie for quite a while, though I'm not sure why. I'm really not even a fan of Tom Cruise OR Penelope. But in this? WOW. The film is brilliant: there's a great cast that fits perfectly with a beautiful but complicated story about dreams and reality and what could happen if you lost yourself within the two. Penelope Cruz is so beautiful and lovable in this movie, and Tom gives an astonishing performance. Not to mention Jason Lee, of whom I am a big fan.

I can't even upt into words how this movie made me feel from start to finish. Right from the beginning I fell completely in love with it, and the film's soundtrack (which is one of the best I have ever heard). I truly wish that more people could watch the movie from a more open perspective to truly appreciate its beauty. I don't mean to sound cheesy, but the film was definitely one of the best I've seen this year. It was probably my favorite.

A lot of people are skeptical about watching this one. Please, don't be. It's a film that makes you think and feel everything and anything; it truly is incredible. So please - open your eyes.

Summary: Was I the only one that thought it was totally WHACK?!?!
Review: This movie made no sense! And what made even less sense was the fact the Penelope Cruz was the star in a re-make of her OWN movie! This movie tried way too hard to be all artsy and deep....but it didn't work. The movie [was not good], and it was like 2 and 1/2 hours. Don't see it, unless you like throwing your money in the garbage.

Summary: There are advantages to DVD or VHS
Review: The advantage is when you realize how bad this movie is you can simply pop it out of the system and see more excitement watching Martha Stewart.!! I didnt have the luck seeing this in the movie house! Let me put it this way, what Tom Cruise's character does at the end of the film should have been something he did in the beginning, you'll know what I mean when you see this. There are some Good Classic Cruise films, Top Gun, Color of Money, Cocktail, Rain Man, Lets just sweep this one under the rug

Summary: Excellent movie!
Review: This was a very enjoyable movie. There was good acting and it was very unpredictable. I don't want to give much away so I am keeping this review a little short. I would reccomend this to mostly anyone and very few people won't enjoy it.

Summary: Lost and Confused
Review: I watched this movie twice. I still don't get it. Tom Cruise tried to play this part with his normal good talent. It wasn't Tom's fault this movie stunk. Badly. The previews looked good. Turns out, the previews where nothing like the movie. The movie jumped from one thing to the next, and I couldn't make sense of it, even during the second time I suffered through it. The music was good, Tom Cruise rocks, but can anyone tell me what happened? What was this movie about?
