Rating: Summary: A Must See! Review: I like that this movie showed many angles on abortion. If you are pro choice or pro life I think you should see this movie because it will let you see several situations involving abortion. Abortion isn't as simple as "yes" or "no." There are many gray areas and this movie explores them. I totally recommend this movie.
Rating: Summary: Moving but also sad.. Review: I loved this movie...at first I was shocked that such a movie existed that spoke so boldly about such a delicate topic. I'm glad it does, though. The first and last segments spoke to the most volumes to me. I think Demi's character was done very well as she portrayed the realities of abortion. I.e what is involved emotionally, financially and mentally.
Personally, I am more than against abortion..why?..I know that every person (it does not matter what circumstances surrounded their conception)has a plan and purpose for their life. I have heard the question asked: 'What if the person who might have discovered a cure for cancer was aborted before he or she was even born?' This statement turned my mind around and I realised that it does not matter how you were conceived, you have a destiny and can do great things in this world. This movie was so great, it gave me a new revelation of the realities behind abortion, and why it is not right.. well done Cher! :) :)
Rating: Summary: Intense and wonderfully challenging Review: I really enjoyed this movie. It was incredibally thought provoking. I think that this would be a wonderful video for young women (and guys) to watch as an aid to a sex-ed class. It really makes you evaluate all sides of the issue. I also think that it's a great film for people interested in the history of abortion/women's rights. It shows how far we've come, as well as how far we yet have to go.
Rating: Summary: An awful portrayal Review: I will never in this lifetime understand why any mother would believe that killing her own child would be in anyone's best interests (including her own). Biology and Physiology are simple subjects...there are no anatomical changes of a baby after 8 weeks (most abortions are performed at 12 weeks), the baby only gets bigger. Basically what the rest of the reviewers are saying is that the bigger the person is physiologically, the more of a person they are. A person is a person whether they are one pound or a thousand pounds. Many people have much more difficult complications in their lives other than pregnancy. Only two categories exist, the uneducated and the profiteers, many whom which enjoy performing abortions at 40 weeks. So many people can't have children, I don't understand the gross selfishness. I'm so glad my mother didn't think of me like this.
Rating: Summary: Good movie, but biased... Review: I'll start off saying that even as an abortion supporter, I found the movie biased. The one segment of three, which was set in the 70s and acted brilliantly by Sissy Spacek, where the woman chose not to have an abortion was the weakest. The story focused more on her life rather than the abortion, and I jus felt it didn't speak to me as much as the first and last segments. It was still good, but that segment seemed out of place. I also found the 70s segemnt out of place in the sequel, but that's a different subject. The first segment, set in the 50s spoke to me the most. You could feel Demi's pain. I wanted to just strangle her sister. As I said before, the 70s segment was acted well, but lacked a moving story for me. I just didnt feel for Sissy's character like the other two. The last segment, set in the 90s, ws my favorite. Maybe it was because it is more relevent to me, since it's when I grew up. The end was really an unexpected turn, and superbly acted by Matthew Lillard. He reeked of ignorance and to what me seemed like insanity. Props to Cher (flashback to clueless with that...) for directing that scene as well as acting in it. It was wonderful. That last shot form above was amazing... Overalll, a good movie. I agree with an earlier reviewer in the fact that it should be shown in a health class to show girls about the options they have now, and educate them.
Rating: Summary: The Best! Review: If These Walls Could Talk is an excellent movie about abortion! I think the most powerful segment is the one with Cher. It doesn't seem like until the end, when Dr. Thompson(Cher) gets shot several times by a man who is against abortion. It looked so real it was terrifying! It brings up the question of abortion very strongly. Cher is not only an actor in this, she is also the director. Cher is always thinking. Please, if you are thinking about getting an abortion watch the movie first.
Rating: Summary: A Good Movie Review: If These Walls Could talk, is a pretty good movie. It is a very powerful movie about abortions. In the movie it has three stories to it, about three different women. The only thing I didn't quite enjoy in the movie, is the second story. It didn't really have nothing to do with abortions, thus making it irrelevent. But regardless, it's a very good movie, with some great performances by Sissy Spacek, Demi Moore, Jada Pinkett, and Cher.
Rating: Summary: it's great!! Review: is genial. and strong. demi moore is the best in this film.and the best history too.cher is good.
Rating: Summary: Compelling--For Both Women & Men Review: It does not matter whether you are Pro-Life or Pro-Choice, this film is excellent & compelling in so many directions. Pro-Choice followers will definitely identify with the power of the struggle to legalize abortion & the pain & sorrow of the times when it was not. My husband & I are Pro-Life followers, & we own this DVD because it is so important for any person that has a belief or conviction to not be naieve or blind to the opposite side. I applaud the directors in their ability to convey each aspect, & both sides of the abortion issue.
Rating: Summary: biased and leaning to the left Review: Just for once would I like to see a movie that didn't resort to high drama to show the viewer their political idealogies. In this trilogy of stories I must say that the first and the second stories were my favorite. Demi Moore, showed she does have artistic talents when it comes to her acting. Her protrayel is very heart wrenching in the first story of a woman who made a very stupid mistake by sleeping with the brother of her recently deceased husband, and ended up pregant. Her very desperate choice was to have an illegal abortion or suffer being shunned and marked an adultress and having a bastard child. ... Second story was also a favorite in the trilogy of abortion. Sissy Spacek, as allways is just superb in her acting abilities to portray a grown woman who finds out she once again pregnant when her present children are all grown and she is on the verge of completing her studies. The story is naturally told and naturally acted. The one thing that was off putting for me was her daughter, who really got under my skin. She just was to feminazi for me. To over the top with her man-hating thinking and ways. Also, she went out of her way to try and force her mother to abort an unborn baby just so her parents didn't stop thinking of sending her to colledge when she finished high school. That was selfish and cruel. Sissy Spacek decision in the end was the right choice. The third story for me was the weakest and most manipulative. Why? You have to see it. There is one part of the story where to two woman have a very ridiculous conversation and I had to laugh. Bad acting, bad dialouge and liberal babble that is too funny to write down. Cher acting is not great or up to her standards. Diane Scarwid has a small role in this movie which I guess she did only because of the subject matter. Anne Heche's role was not natural or even real, as her story was too forced and fake. You really never get to know her life story or why she chooses her fate. I was left wondering why she chose to have an abortion. Jada Picket was the only character in the whole third story that really was true and natural and faithful to her role. The only one role in the whole third story that really spoke to me. The ending was absolutely obvious and perdictable. ... So, if you choose to view this film. Watch it with an open mind then when it is over disect it and make up your mind if Hollywood loves to ram their idealogy down our throats.
