Summary: people should see it for what it really is...
Review: "Cruel Intentions" isn't the best movie out there but I find it strange that so many people hate it so much. As I see it, it was without a doubt meant to be a teen movie, so it shouldn't be judged by great theatrical standards. It was a good teen flick. Why are thirty year olds watching it, then putting it down anyway? They should have known it wasn't meant to be a great drama.

Summary: Satisfying
Review: A modern version of "Dangerous Liaisons." Convincingly told, suitably suspenseful, and they cleverly play out all major events in a late 20th century fashion. (Note: I never read the book; I'm just going by the John Malkovich movie in the 80s.)

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe play step-brother and -sister, pampered, awash in luxuries, indescribably vain, and obsessed with their own prominence in their social world. They see themselves as modern Roman emperors presiding over the Coliseum of New York's upper crust. They are intelligent, perceptive, imaginative, and rabid.

The movie spins out a nicely complicated web of relationships, the classic cross and double-cross, and it becomes downright harrowing to see these beautiful young people doing each other in like wolves crazed by famine.

Lastly, the scenery is quite satisfying. The architecture and furnishings of their home, Phillippe's car, and indisputably Gellar's wardrobe.

Summary: This movie proves Amazon needs a zero star rating!!!!
Review: Even Ryan Phillippe and Reese Whitherspoon could not salvage this childish script. The "sexy" scenes were unimaginative and boring (and completely unbelievable!) Watching Sarah Michelle Gellar try to seduce every man-and woman-in her path proved to me that she is not ready for an adult movie career (unless she is looking to move into porn roles). I recommend skipping this movie and watching Dangerous Liasions.

Summary: A Watered Down Version of a Great Film
Review: By the time I saw this movie, I had already seen "Dangerous Liaisons" superbly acted by Glenn Close, Michelle Pfifer and John Malkovich (omission of Keanu is intentional). In a nutshell, it just does not compare. Even though the story is the same, Dangerous Liaisons is wittier, better acted and does not rely on pseudo-porn to keep you watching. The three star rating goes to the story, which is great. However, if you want the real experience, go for the original, Dangerous Liaisons, which doesn't alter the ending and is also available on DVD (probably cheaper too).

Summary: Wonderful Movie
Review: I went to this movie expecting a pretty good movie with my favorite actress, Sarah Michelle Gellar in it. Instead I was blown away by one of the best movies I have ever seen. All of the actors turned in fantastic performances and the plot twist at the end was so very sad and emotional. Definately a movie worth owning and watching again and again for years to come.

Summary: truly a "Bittersweet Symphony"
Review: The movie was, to say the least, completely awesome. As an actor, I was simply awestruck by the work of the actors. The story was well written with severy creative plot twists. I loved the ending, and I wish more playwrites could captivate the creativity presented in this movie. I especially loved the way they played "Bittersweet Symphony" at the end. I highly recommend it.

Summary: The absolute WORST movie ever!
Review: How in the world anyone could like this movie at all is beyond belief! I love dramas and I was soooo disappointed in this "thing" that I could hardly stand it. It was almost laughable. It looked like a bunch of kids trying to pull of adult parts. This movie is nothing more than an attempt to profit off young fans of these young stars. I am not that "old"...in my early thirties, and I found nothing entertaining about this movie. It was almost a comedy to see them try to act like adults in adult situations and try to make us think it is "serious" stuff. This movie, with it's lame plot and unnatural characters would have hardly went over with older actors playing these roles... much less with these actors... this was one big joke.
