Rating: Summary: Great Acting, Review: When I 1st saw this movie I realized it had no genre it was a whole mix of things. This is really good - since I'm the very first person to review I can tell people that this is my second fave movie of all time. Sarah Michelle Gellar plays Kathryn na dits possibly the best shes done! I can recommend this flick to anyone dirty, naughty, funny or people with class.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful movie Review: I didn't think I'd like it when I checked it out..turns out I loved it soo much I bought it already. (and no i dont have dvd )
Rating: Summary: good movie Review: This was a far cry from buffy. I have a new found respect for SMG as an actress, as well as Ryan Phillipe. Good Movie
Rating: Summary: An extremely entertaining movie Review: A thrilling modern adaptation of the 18th century novel by Choderlos de Laclos, Cruel Intentions is one of the best movies I've seen recently. The acting in this movie is great and the sets are spectacularly done. This version adds extra humor as well as several different plot twists to the standard "Dangerous Liasons" plot to treat viewers to a devilishly entertaining movie. Reese Witherspoon does a great job with her role as the target of seduction and her new husband Ryan Phillipe is excellent as Valmont. Sarah Michelle Gellar also adds a wickedly entertaining performance as the provocative evil step sister. The visuals and especially music in this movie are good and the entire production is very well done. Overall this movie is one of the best I've seen recently and is more thought provoking than almost all the other "teen movies" around. Great Movie.- Matt "MaTT6699@aol.com"
Rating: Summary: This is one of my favorite movies in the entire world Review: Don't ask any questions. Just buy this movie. It is one of the most entertaining, wickedly funny black comedies in film history. It's very dark, hilarious, and may even offend some people. But that is part of its magic. It challenges the viewer, but make no mistake about it: It is a great deal of fun...and evil. Sarah Michelle Gellar plays a role so different than "Buffy" you won't believe it's her. She is a villainous, bulemic, coke-snorting bitch. You'll love to hate her. Selma Blair is adorable as the nerd who becomes the target of Gellar's wrath. Ryan Phillipe is dead-on as Gellar's stepbrother who wants more than anything on earth to bed her. And Reese Witherspoon is amazing as a young virgin who Phillipe bets Gellar that he can seduce. A vicious story full of backstabbing and...cruel intentions, but at the same time has a very sweet side. The ending is shocking, completely unpredictable, with a twisted sense of humor that lasts all the way even to the end. The directing is perfect and even more the soundtrack is amazing. Buy this album. From the opening song Every You and Every Me to Bittersweet Symphony, it sets the tone for the movie perfectly. Also, this DVD is great. Even though the menu is kind of boring, it has some great extras, including music videos and documentaries which really give a great deal of insight to the making of this most unusual film. Also, the extra scenes, unlike some other DVDs which are kind of stupid, actually add to the film and make you wonder how it would have affected the film's ending differently if they were left in. You'll be shocked, but some of these scenes may have drastically changed the film and even the character development. This is one of the very best movies ever made and it is my favorite. Don't walk...run to buy this movie and watch it over and over and over and over and over and...over....over.....
Rating: Summary: Not the best... Review: A viewer from Maryland below wrote "Why are thirty year olds watching this movie and then putting it down?" Do thirty year olds not have the right to review a so called "teen flick", which by the way I don't consider this movie to be. I didn't like this movie myself simply because I feel that it was a bit silly. I was in the mood for a drama and the case didn't tell me that I should look elsewhere if that was wanted I wanted. It promoted itself as an interesting drama...for all ages.
Rating: Summary: sarah michelle gellars best film Review: it was a great movie sarah michelle gellar was so bad.i liked how ryan phillipe turned from bad to good.it was funny.it was the best movie ive seen so far this year.who ever reads this im telling you out of advice this is great movie go out and rent it.
Rating: Summary: It was an awesome movie, Ryan Phillippe is incredible! Review: I saw the movie in the theater and can't wait until it's available to buy. Ryan Phillippe is my favourite actor and played the part of a seducing sex maniac very well. The chemistry between Ryan and Reese Witherspoon was remarkable and I only hope that they star in more films together. My favourite part was when Katherin(Sarah Michelle Gellar) gets hers in the end. The ending was perfect even thought I wish that Sebastian survived so that he and Annette could be together. It is definitely my favourite movie at the moment.
Rating: Summary: LOVE IT!!! Just LOVE this movie!!! Review: This movie is so great. I rented this video from the store and oh man I'm so glad I did, I watched this movie over and over again, the people from the video store called me today because I still haven't returned it yet. Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon, and Sarah Michelle Gellar did a fine job. this movie made me laughed so hard on some parts, made me want to slap Sarah, I cried at the end. whocares if it was a REMAKE from Dangerous Liasions, that's why they call it a REMAKE. it's a 1990's fast paced verision of it and it's worth every penny. also people forget but the characters in the movie ARE TEENS so the actors were very good as acting like Teens doing sex sences, anyway it was great! BUY IT NOW! DON'T WAIT! also the music was great just bought the CD and I'm listening to it now!
Rating: Summary: Great use of music Review: I enjoy this movie for some reasons which I do and do not know. First off, the director's use of music was EXCELLENT! The music in the beginning of the movie, the "scheming" scenes, and, of course, the "Bittersweet Symphony" at the very end really made the movie more enticing! Ryan Philippe, despite the total jerk he played, is very attractive and I enjoyed watching him. The movie showed character growth (or lack thereof), as well as brutal honesty. For what it was meant to be, it entertains and tantalizes the young adult audiences.
