Summary: An Un-Cruel Review
Review: Cruel Intentions, a movie about sex, lies, and truth, delivers a pretty good on/off screen chemistry between Philippe & Witherspoon. (It has to be good, right? They ARE married!) Selma Blair plays a good ditsy-minded girl, who plays a new sexually active woman in the movie. Sarah Michelle Gellar played a great [actress] in the movie, which you'll find very amusing. It's also kinda funny how she wants to hook up with her cousin, (Philippe) and totally mis-lead his girl (Witherspoon)
The end has a cool climax where Witherspoon rats SMG out about everything she's done. You'll like it, on way or another.

Summary: Great teen movie
Review: The infamous kiss between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair was previously voted Best Movie Kiss at the MTV Awards, and now has the privilege of knowing its the number two Sexy Moment. Personally, I wouldn't have rated it as high as that, and seeing two girls kissing does nothing for me - for the guys it might! I've never seen Dangerous Liasions, with Glenn Close, but this also featured in the Top 100 Sexy Moments, and both are very close, with the names etc - I never realised that before.

This film has all your stereotypical characters - the good girl (Reese Witherspoon), the bad girl (Sarah Michelle Gellar), the dork (Selma Blair), and the bad guy wanting to turn bad (Ryan Phillipe). All the characters are playing teenagers, but are also much older.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is great in this, and with the dark hair (which totally suits her), she seems more evil than the normal characters.

Of course, this is the film where Ryan & Reese met, and fell in love. They're now married, with two children, and although there have been problems with Reese having more successful movies under her belt, they remain Hollywood's current golden couple - for the moment anyway.

I really enjoyed this film, and can watch it over and over, although Selma Blair does make me cringe. There's great chemistry between Ryan & Reese and also some slight chemistry between Ryan & Sarah, but not as much. Everyone will love this updated & modern version of a "classic". Although I would have voted the sex scene between Ryan & Reese kinda sexy - but not the kiss. Maybe one for the guys.

Summary: Finding True Love in Seduction
Review: This is a good movie that anyone could watch. so unlike what Chris Kibber said, "This is clearly made for teens who really, really, really, wish they were cool. Here's a hint: if you are watching [stuff] like this you are not cool. The cool people are out doing stuff while you sit in front of your TV watching Dawson's Creek and wondering why you are getting heavier."
I mean who is he to say what is or what isnt cool. if he thought the movie was bad then why is he wasting his time writing here. so dont believe his review. The movie is about Katherine who is unconfident in herself and finds enjoyment in other peoples pain and her step brother Sebastian who has a repuation of sleeping with numerous girls; they make a bet that if Sebastian sleeps with Annette (the virgin)that he can have Katherine but if he loses then Katherine gets his car. Then comes innocent Cecile where she is played the fool but then gets her reward. by the end of the movie...well you go see it and you'll know the ending. lol hope i helped you and you are all COOL!

Summary: Romeo and Juliet watch out!!!
Review: When one rents a movie you are always expecting the best or worst of it but when you rent this you expect nothing because you dont know what it is. But once the film is over you cannot easily forget it. That is the case with Cruel Intentions you just cant figure out what happened you look at it and ask yourself did that just happen did that just happen. Buy it on DVD and I promise you you will not be sorry. The premise of the story is that two siblings in high school decide to spice up their lives a bit by getting revenge against some of their peers but the least likely thing happens while in the middle of the seduction Sebastion (Ryan Philippe) realizes that he is in love with the woman he is seducing Annete (Resse Witherspoon) but will he be able to keep his feelings at bay while finishing his task or will he profess his love to her but in the game of seduction there is only one rule never fall in love.

Summary: sexy, romantic and naughty
Review: this was naughty because of Sarah Michelle Gellar(Buffy) who stold the movie and my virginity, well. Ryan Phillippe is great in the lead as the step-brother to Gellar and they make a pact, if he gets Reese Witherspoon in bed he gets to get Gellar in bed and if Gellar wins and he doesnt she gets his shiny car. the romantic chemistry between Phillippe and Witherspoon work because they are married now and have kids, duh. some hots scenes include that sex scene with Phillippe and Witherspoon, where Gellar gives Phillippe a laprub and that oh so famous kiss with Gellar and Selma Blair.

Summary: A Modern Masterpiece Of Wealth, Sex, Deceit and Romance.
Review: Kathryn Murteuil and her Step brother Sebastian Valmont are 2 popular, smart, manipulative, wealthy upper class New York teenagers with one year left at their school Manchester Prep. Kathryn and Sebastian are the most popular students at their school, Kathryn is polite, lady-like and beautiful, Sebastian has slept with most of the Upper East Side with has conjured up his popular reputation.
However through all their luxury, wealth and popularity Kathryn and Sebastian are experiencing the boredom that the long summer holidays provide.
Kathryn was dumped over the fourth of July weekend by her boyfriend Court for an innocent girl called Cecille. To revenge him Kathryn hopes to make Cecille a slut humiliating Court. Cecille's mother organizes for Kathryn to "tutor" Cecille over the summer holidays hoping that she will turn into a replica of Kathryn fit for a popular reputation at Manchester, However Kathryn intends to turn Cecille into "the premier tramp of the new York area".
Sebastians "summer project" is to screw the new headmaster's daughter Annette before school starts. This would add to his reputation greatly because Annette recently wrote a manifesto in seventeen magazine stating how she declared her virginity until marriage. Kathryn has little faith in Sebastians new mission and through their love hate relationship she makes a bet that if he screws the new headmasters daughter before school starts she will have sex with him (something that Sebastian has always wanted but couldn't have) but if he doesn't Kathryn gets his 1956 jaguar roadster.
The bet goes out of control as Kathryn amuses herself with Sebastian trying to keep his dignity. Annette, Cecille, Kathryn and Sebastian all intertwine to create lust and betrayal. But soon Kathryn and Sebastian receive the consequences of the way they treat others in the dramatic ending.
What I loved about the film was the general story line because it created the basis for the movie but also the wealth and snobbiness involved that was very entertaining to watch. Also the soundtrack music was excellent and complemented the movie and its character very well. The acting was sensational with some of Hollywood's finest actors including Ryan Phillipe (Sebastian Valmont), Sara Michelle Gellar (Kathryn Merteuil), Reese Witherspoon (Annette Hargrove) and Selma Blare (Cecille Caldwell).

Summary: A profound examination of love
Review: Dangerous Liasons, the book, was fascinating in itself. It was also controversial, much like Cruel Intentions (the film adaption of Dangerous Liasons during a year when film directors wanted everything written 'in high school'). The kiss between Sarah Michelle Gellar and the naive school-girl under her wing was extremely shocking to many. It was one of the first mainstream step to make such behavior accepted by the movie-going public.

The performances in this film were absolutely fabulous. It is a love-story of the high calibre, for isn't any good love-story the overcoming of personal flaws for the sake of one who we love? Ryan Philippe's character had to completely change his opinion of love and sex and dating to accomplish the task of winning the girl. The normal beats of a romance were right on target, but there were interesting twists added with the cliche 'teen movie bet' addition. In the end, the story is a compelling look at life and love for the disaffected and privileged. It is reminiscent of Bret Easton Ellis' work.

Summary: Great movie
Review: How many times has "Cruel Intentions" been around yet? Four times? Usually, classic novels don't get any better the more often you make a movie out of it. Not this time...this movie is just great. It's fast-paced, funny, sexy and- most of all- very romantic. The characters are extremely well drawn and never annoying (especially Sebastian Valmont is simply great...you hate him, but you love him...at the same time). You actually never get bored by this vehicle, as the time goes by as fast as a ride in a 1956 Jaguar. By the, way, ALL of the actors do agreat job, though most of them are pretty new in the business. Thumbs up for that one!

Summary: AMAZING!!!
Review: Many people compare this to the original book and the 1988 movie based on the book, and find this movie short. Since I haven't read the book or watched the 1988 movie, I really enjoyed this movie. The cast is good and gives a great performance (I found Sarah Michelle Gellar's performance to be a little annoying and not very credible, but since most other reviewers seemed to like it, I assume it's because I'm just got used to her Buffy persona too well). The soundtrack is great, and the DVD has plenty of extras (such as a director's commentary, video clips, deleted scenes, behind the scenes documentary) - all of the standard ones, nothing special or extraordinary, but still very enjoyable.
