Summary: I tried and tried, but there is a message in the movie . . .
Review: . . . in Sebastian's words in the narrative - people do not change overnight. My wife wanted to see this, I sat with her but it wasn't my cup of tea. I felt utterly depressed when after a promising start with a witty set of lines and an interesting scenario, it plummetted into cheap sentimentality. UUURRGGGHHH. What would have livened this up more would be steamier sex scenes and perhaps Mel Gibson and Danny Glover steaming on screen and blowing all these jumped up, obnoxious spoilt little rich kids away for their sins. IT WAS ALL TOO TAME! This is a movie for teenagers who have no brain and think it's cool to mess people around. Any wonder with movies like this about that there's a decline in moral values of commitment to those you love, without resorting to oh-so-filmic irrational behaviour? I think I'll stick with action movies - at least there's a difference between right and wrong. And I'm a special effects freak. Sorry, but I guess I don't appreciate CHICK FLICKS. At least this did have some decent music in, though, by bands such as Blur, Verve and Marcy Playground, so it gets two stars for that and the first section.

Summary: Cruel Intentions vs. Dangerous Liaisons
Review: I thought that the soundtrack was good and the movie was good, but it pales in comparison to the acting talents of Dangerous Liaisons with John Malkovich, Glenn Close, and Michelle Pfeiffer. If you want to view true backstabbing and acting to one of its best, you owe it to yourself to see this, original, version. While, Cruel Intentions is a pretty good, Gen-X remake, you will see where Ryan Phillipe tries to imitate John Malkovich in a--sorry guys--quite feeble way. I didn't hate Cruel Intentions, but Dangerous Liaisons is miles better!

Summary: Best movie in 1999
Review: I saw Cruel Intentions when it opened in Oslo last June, and now I've picked up the video. There is not one thing about this movie that isn't cool! The actors were great, and the soundtrack too. Roger Kumble must be a genious having managed to turn an old novel into a modern drama-comedy like this one. I just hope there will be more movies like Cruel Intentions.

Summary: Watchable, but mediocre
Review: This is a movie that is very much a '90s movie. It captures the anything-that-goes, if-it-feels-good-do-it mentality that is chic nowadays. The blatantly amoral characters are selfish, greedy, and manipulative. All they care about is shafting other people and making their lives miserable. In this film, you will get a hefty dose of sexual immorality. The only redeeming quality of this movie is the ending. Actually, without the ending, this movie would be a huge disappointment, instead of the modest one it is now. I can't recommend this. It's portrayal of sexual immorality is right on the mark for the '90s, so if that's what you're looking for, look no further. Those looking for a good movie, however, should look elsewhere.

Summary: Fantastic, a MUST buy!
Review: You must buy this film. It has one of the best DvD featuresaround and that's not even to do with the film (there's loads todo). If you don't buy it in DVD then buy or even rent the movie. The acting is superb and the plot is constantly changing at every turn. The characters and their emotions are constanly changing, the acting is brill. This film has comedy and drama, Cecile is the most hilarous character ever and I loved to hate both Kathryn and Sebastin (RP is so cute! ) but I didn't like Annette. The soundtrack is fantastic even without the movie. The ending I believed should have been different but even though. Dialogue is great and funny. There is more than just sex in it (which parents don't seem to understand! ) (infact there's hardly any nudity and the thing is that there is suggestiveness of sexual stuff) Don't miss this once in a lifetime outstanding film, which provides a modern translation of the ideas of Dangerous Liasions for modern day teens.

Summary: Why can't anybody give this 5 stars?
Review: I really wonder sometimes whats wrong with (some) reviewers - they always get mixed up - Tarzan and Pleasantville are boring, face it and Cruel Intentions and Scream totally rock. You won't want to move from your seat in this unreal comedy-drama! Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon play their best roles and most impresive, I can't think of a thing wrong this flick, except the fact that people over age 40 with children - BEWARE! This may and will offend you - but under 25's you'll love this!

Summary: Excellent Movie, But a Bit Disappointing
Review: This movie was one of the best movies I have seen in awhile. It left me in shock and able to think about nothing else for three days. The stars shine, but are a bit tarnished. Gellar is at her sexy best, Phillipe is kind of believable as the womanizer, and Witherspoon is pretty good. The dialogue is wonderful, with the banter between Gellar and Phillipe very funny. The movie has gotten bad reviews, but I thought it was wonderful.

Review: Ok, I know this movies isn't the best movies i have ever seen but u have to see it at least once! This movie totally captivated me! Especially towards the end. this movie started out funny but lame but some where in the middle i was totally into the movie that i didn't want to move, and the end was SOOO good, i didn't see that coming. When the movie was finished, for the next 2 days me and my friends were only talking about the movie And that hardly ever happens!. So for all of that haven't seen it and heard mixed reviews about it i suggest that you see Cruel Intentions at least once!

Review: When i saw this movie i was in shock for a couple of hours because it was soo great and the actors and actresses did such a great job. But there is only one bad part to the movie that i think ruined it and i think that part is the ending. Im not going to tell u what happenes at the end but i was greatly disapointed by it. It would have definetly been the best movie i have ever seen in my life if the ending wasnt messed up like it is. Every part of the movie kept me wondering what was going to happen next. The movie would have been the best if the bet was followed through and ryan got together with sarah michelle gellar. That would have been the best ending instead of what happened. Other than the ending the movie was great and i recomend that u watch it weather u rent it or buy it, either way it is worth it. Enjoy the movie and i hope u enjoyed it as much as i did.

Summary: mischeiveous, daring, and a bit funny!
Review: This movie was so well written and designed and the actors well performed their parts. It shows someone CAN change from a mean selfish person to a loving caring person. Everyone I know absolutely loves this movie. Also I love the fact that you dont have to watch it with those annoying black lines at the top and bottom of the screen
