Rating: Summary: A Masterpeice of Old World Charm Mixed with Modern Sex Review: I thought this movie was wonderful. I could see how they were trying to make it feel old, rugad and proper, but still have the sexed up world that we live in today. It is a fact that we all must face, sex sells- and it's here to stay, there's not much you can do about it. This movie did an excellent job doing just that- selling it. Yet it wasn't trashy, whorey or totally nasty. (...) This movie was very good, and I reccomend you see it, it will open your mind, and make you laugh.
Rating: Summary: I Am Sebastian Review: Everyone says i am Sebastian, but havent changed yet, how fun, i loved the movie it is amazing. Recomdent it anyone in there 20's and under
Rating: Summary: What you cant have, you cant resist. Review: Best movie ever. Saturated with sex and black comedie. Sarah Michelle Gellar totally made this movie. I think i love this film so much ive started to take on the role of Kathryn Mertuil. I recomend it to any1 who are fans of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillipe, reese Witherspoon or Selma Bler, or enjoy the slutty, vindictive, evil, sexy side of a movie you so haft to watch it. :-)
Rating: Summary: Awful Review: I've seen different versions of "The dangerous liaisons", and with difference this the worst one I've ever seen. The version with Keanu Reeves, Michelle Pfeiffer and John Malkovic it's the best one. Ryan Phillippe is as bad actor as gross, not to mention Reese Whitherspoon. All they do it's a free version of the book, it's another movie starred by the "Bloof generation" of actors we have right now, if you have dignity yet, don't see it.
Rating: Summary: Les Liaisons Dangereuses Review: Cruel intensions is one those films you love or hate. I personally love it. It stars Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair. Phillippe and Gellar play two spoilt, filthy rich stepsiblings living in Manhattan. Sebastian (Phillippe) and Kathryn (Gellar) bet whether or not Sebastian can seduce sweet and innocent Annette (Witherspoon). Phillippe shines as the charmingly wicked Sebastian, Witherspoon gives a great performance as sweet Annette, but the Gellar stands out as the evil, manipulating Kathryn. A plot and story with a few twists and turns and good enough to watch again and again.
Rating: Summary: one of the best movies i have! Review: this is by far the best movie i have ever seen, and i generally hate dramas! and let me just say that this movie is not just about the two girls kissing! yes, if you haven't seen it, it shows 2 chicks frenching! anyway, if you haven't seen this movie you really need to! but just beware that it is rather gross in some parts.
Rating: Summary: Cruel intentions, kind review Review: Cruel intentions is one of those movies that would appeal to the yonger generation. however the story isnt just about a sex scandal. it has a strange way of showing it but its based around love. Sarah Michelle Gellar makes a bet with her step brother(Phillipie) that if he can manage to lose Resse Witherspoons virginity. She would make love to him. The story is good and the confrantations of Sex, lies, Betrayal all come into this rather average film. Some people see this as a sex flick but that would only really be from the mouths of 10-16 year olds. Good to watch at least once but after that its not worth seeing again. Buy it if you have to but make your own decision if you have seen it
Rating: Summary: The teens today!!! Review: CRUEL INTENTIONS is about how some troubled youths act in high school, both in the movie, and in reality as well. This movie is great, it is aimed for a teen audience, but is still entertaining. It is almost repulsing when you see how these shmucks treat each other, but then you can see the connections between the Character partrayed by Sarah and Ryan, and the kids at your high school. Insomse cases it hit pretty close to home, but it is refreshing to see the "just desarts" in the end of this movie. Sarah Michelle Gellar found her inner "Erica Kane" from her All My Children days. I say her inner "Erica Kane" 'cause I cannot type the real word on this review. In the movie, you almost want to slap her in you are a girl, or splash a glass of water in her face if are a guy,'cause you can't slap her if are a guy. Sarah Michelle Gellar uses some strong language in this movie, so do teens today. Which is so realistic about this movie, with their language and their actions If want to see some evil teens try to use and abuse and manipulate eac other(with thier "Just Desarts" in the end) then sit down, kick back and enjoy!!!
Rating: Summary: Pompous and Immature Review: This adaptation of Dangerous Liaisons is but a pale imitation of both the book and the movies that preceded it: innundated with the pompous and immature acting of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Selma Blair, and Reese Witherspoon, one feels as if they're watching just another bland prepubescent t.v. melodrama to the likes of 90210.First of all, Ryan Phillippe's poor acting skills are made all too obvious by him trying too hard to act like John Malkovich as Valmont instead of acting as the character himself: a major let down from the onset of the movie. Why would one want to see a movie where the principal actor is vainly trying to imitate a greater actor who's still living? Please spare me the agony, I've seen better acting in obscure high school plays. I don't pay to see someone else failing their acting classes. Although the dialogue and mannerisms in the movie would perhaps work well in a film set in 18th century France such as with Dangerous Liaisons, the script in this movie comes out as nothing more than shallow and pretentious teenage snobbery. Changing the characters to an adolescent age reduces their motivations and actions to those of immature teenage twits with no sexual maturity and with their reproductive hormones on overdrive. Spare yourselves from watching immature actors perform miserably in this mediocre adaptation. For great adaptations of Les Liaison Dangereuses, watch either Dangerous Liaisons or Valmont instead.
Rating: Summary: Malicious Review: This is a Romantic Comedy of the very dark variety. Sarah Michelle Gellar plays one of the most wicked femme fatales (Kathryn) you will ever encounter on-screen. Reese Witherspoon portrays the typical all-American, virtuous midwestern girl (Annette). In between is a womanizer, Sebastian, played by Ryan Phillippe. All of the characters in the movie are fabulously wealthy, but more than a few are deficient when it comes to matters of the heart. People who enjoy eye candy will enjoy some of the sets of this movie - particularly the lavish indoor swimming pool @ the cottage. Sebastian and Kathryn make a bet: can the suave playboy score on Annette? This, along with a web of insidious sub-plots form the core of the movie's plot. In each and every case, Kathryn and Sebastion outwit everyone else in the film in order to manipulate circumstances into their favor. Occasionally, they even dupe each other. Over the course of the film, however, Sebastian's character begins to change, albeit slightly. Meanwhile, Kathryn remains the cold-hearted and sadistic wench she always was. It is a credit to the acting ability of Phillippe that the change in character becomes apparent and we're actually compelled to care for him by the end of the film. To answer the $60,000 question on whether a sweet innocent girl can have a significant impact on a life-long playboy, watch the film. However, be prepared for one of the darkest comedies you will ever see. It's downright cruel - intentionally so.
