Summary: he is a smart director with so much potential
Review: This movie is one of my favorites Larry Clark knows how to make learning lessons interesting and fun. In kids it was all about learning how aids can get around so fast. This one is a learning how killing someone is not the right way to go and how you plan is not how the murder will end up.If you watch his movies for more than sex and drugs you will see a true message behind each one. He knows how to truly get inside peoples heads and make them think he is a director that thinks outside the box and directs his attention towards trouble youth. Also there is good eye candy for girls and guys.

Summary: Bully
Review: I wouldn't really call this film 'explicit' or 'shocking' per se, but it does leave its effect on you. The film does have its fare share of sex, but nothing pornographic; exploitative perhaps, especially with the young actors and all, but nothing 'pert. to porn'. Personally I preferred Clark's previous film 'Kids' much more. Despite being based on actual happenings, this film didn't really seem ( to me ) to have a sense of reality. Usually I would attribute that as a good thing, but most of this just looks like it was something done up for an MTV special. This first half of the film I didn't particularly like: mainly just consisting of aimless sex and drug use... Which is fine and all, but should be made better use of. The second half of the film does get substantially better: after the crime has been committed, the character's emotions and states of mind quickly condense and implode in on them; which is orchestrated very well. It's not a bad film, but it's not a great film... It is good though. My favorite character was actually Lisa's friend Claudia ( I believe it was ), who seemed like the conscience of a film drenched with apathy. Too bad more use wasn't made of her :(.

Summary: IT HAPPENED IN FLORIDA
Review: The shag-haired bow-tied kid at the concession stand in the theatre where I saw "Bully" loved this film, saying he had been to suburban Florida and kids there are capable of murder due to the extreme Summer heat and boredom. Larry Clark's disturbing true life drama of a group of middle class druggie white kids who plot murder against one of their own has that effect on viewers. Like the high school tragedy at Columbine and the similiarly paced murder by young people in the film, "Boys Don't Cry", these things only happen in other neighborhoods. In "Bully", parents muse to their drugged out doom plotting children about week-end happenings and college preparation while the kids stash their pockets with knives and family handguns and announce they are going to a movie. Sounds ironic and amusing like an Oliver Stone "Natural Born Killers" psychedelia but it's played with a deft realism that exposes these killer's intent as a very ordinary response to a frenzied teenage angst as hot as the Florida Sun. This film is uncompromising in it's documentary-like execution, never probing deeper into it's character's motives than the one-dimensional killers one would imagine upon hearing this real life tragedy.

Summary: about the movie Bully.......
Review: The Story is about an example of a bad society where these people kills when they find that they are unsatisfied with people that they met or having conversation with. Close down of these groups of secret society has been made by government from different country which we can see in the later years that a group of fierce fighter came up so called terrorist. This is the type of problem that are slowly surfacing as years passed by. I hope the recommedation is useful to some whom are interested in this genre of movie.

Summary: Deeply Disturbing!!
Review: Director Larry Clark continues his study of alienated kids in this deeply disturbing film. The movie is based on the true story of the real life murder of a Florida teen and the twisted band of low lifes that plotted the savage killing. The storyline was slow, but the anticipation of knowing when the murder takes place was key in making this film effective. Once it does happen, you feel very creepy and dirty. This film is not as good as Clark's powerful debut, "Kids". But it does well in getting the message across about the continued deterioration of American society.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I watched a documentary of this incident on TV and immedietely wanted to see the movie. So, I got me the DVD. The movie was a big disappointment. I think so for a variety of reasons.

Firstly, too little is shown of Bobby Kent. I find that he plays far too minor of a role in the movie. You only occasionally see him with Marty. I would've liked to see more of how he treated people and what made the clique hate him so much as to kill him.

Secondly, although it shows why Marty, Ali, and Lisa had incentives to kill Bobby, it doesn't show why the others did. Why was Lisa's cousin, Heather, that drugged up guy, and the hitman eager to kill him?

The DVD does have some special features but they are also disappointing. The interviews with the cast are short and empty. No discussion about the actual issue. I think the addition of a documentary like the one I saw on TV would've been more satisfactory.

To conclude, if interested in the Bobby Kent case, you may find this movie disappointing. I wouldn't buy the DVD.

Summary: oh my gosh!
Review: I've never seen a movie so sexualy graphic.... but when I looked at this movie from a bigger perspective, it was really raw and interesting. It made me in favor of the motive behind the murder...but yet a murder like that isn't something anyone would want to witness.

Summary: The most powerful film I've ever seen
Review: I stumbled across Bully while watching TV late at night. I assumed it was going to be some lame teen movie we've seen time and time again. I was absolutely wrong! Bully has to be one of the most powerful and disturbing films I've EVER seen. The acting is superb, especially by Leo Fitzgerald and Daniel Franzese. The real star of the film is Nick Stahl as Bobby Kent. While he doesn't look even remotely like the real Bobby Kent, his portrayl is simply amazing. It's a shame his performance was largely overlooked. This film is definitely not for everyone. It's one of those movies you either love or hate. Either way, Bully is a film you won't soon forget.

Summary: An unforgettable masterpiece
Review: When my fiancee picked up this movie, I almost laughed. 'Kids' disappointed me big time, and I didnt think this was going to be anything special. I have never been so wrong. This could have been the toughest movie ever for me to swallow. When this movie ended, I was left with a feeling of overwhelming sickness in my stomach that only one other movie ever has given me; that being 'Requiem for a Dream'. Words cant begin to bring justice to the brilliance of this film. This one is definately one of the most gut-wrenching movies ever made. I dont think I could even tell you exactly what intrigued me so much about the movie, but something did. All of these kids acted brilliantly, and Nick Stahl really hit one out of the park. PLEASE.... If you are reading this, go out and BUY this movie. You will not be disappointed.
