Summary: Professional reflection
Review: I was quite impressed by the scene when Tom was trying to shoot the tenant and the gun exploded on his face. That was quite professional skill from the director. The movie as many movies of this kind, makes you think about the value of wealth. But what is special about the movie is its ending. The only thing that the movie missed was the right accent at the right time. Back in Irland Tom made an ill attempt to use an Irish accent. But then he left to US his accent changed dramatically. Apart from that a good movie.

Summary: It's overall good
Review: I like the movie because Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are both my favorite stars. The movie is pretty good, and fun.

Review: Sometimes we need a dream not realized yesterday. Like the unbearable lightness of being, we still insist a day the first time we met

Summary: A correction to a previous review that I have made
Review: Lets do sth interesting and difficult... lets combine the movies "Eyes Wide Shut" and "Far and Away". Yeap they both have a common attractor the "Struggle For survival"... In the west that time things were like this and in New York now things are like "Eyes Wide Shut" In case there is any ambiguities why Tom Cruise carreer is threatened by his late film this is the reason:In "Far and Away" the system of The USA is being struck but is a system long gone. But in eyes Wide shut things is pretty much the way is described. So the system of USA is being struck right in the very Hurt! In New York "The Valve" of USA(and the whole world). Well look at this view, In "Far and Away" the hero is the guy impersonated but in "eyes wide shut" the real hero is Tom Cruise himself I hope that whoever reads me got my spirit! Yes it seems that Tom Cruise has made a serious move towards 2000 and the threats it prevails... I am so sorry about my first review but I was furious because I couldn;t see Cruise impersonating this role I left in the first 5 minutes. Cruise will propably do not get an Oscar for this film and I think that he should for this strange peculiar reason... As for Kidman my feelings are not good. I do not like her at all as an actor and in "Far and Away". I find her provocative... So Tom Cruise still remains a hero model. Complicated times that we are living, aren't they?

Summary: A very good film!
Review: Indeed we are talking of a very good movie. Of course from now on we should say a priori film of "Eyes Wide Shut" because I think that the latter movie is the end of Tom Cruise carreer! In "far and away" movie rich values are shown and the victory of good over evil, which is not what happens to recent movies. Kiddman in this movie tries to keep her clothes on I know that this must have been very hard for her but she succeeds! Tom cruise is a real hero and a worthy example to immitate. I wish they could stick to this kind of films at least Tom Cruise... for kiddman no comment... I think she should wait for the 22nd century to get an oscar award... I think she is a worthy opponent over Sharon Stones throne...

Summary: Great DVD transfer
Review: The sound and picture quality of the DVD is fantastic. Nothing is left out of the beautiful scenes on the widescreen version. The DVD also contains a few pages of production notes: a brief story of how Rown Howard conceived, created and filmed "Far And Away". It also contains bios on Kidman and Cruise. Laughingly, it credits Cruise with "Eyes Wide Shut", but no release year, while at the same time it credits Kidman with "Eyes Wide Shut" with a release year of 1998! That's what you get when you write the bio before the film is released! The film never gets boring, although it feels disjointed when the story moves from Boston to Oklahoma. Howard quickly covers up the time lapse with "eight months later" or some such nonsense.

Summary: Great scenery, POOR SCRIPT
Review: Visually effective, but one lousy script. Cruise was ok with his American accent, thank goodness Kidman brings her Australian accent along to be passible as an Irishwoman. The photography was the best part by far, along with a good performance by Meany.

Summary: Fun and satisfying - great soundtrack!
Review: A nice, feel-good movie. Kidman and Cruise exude charm. Supporting roles are well-played, including the roles of Shannon's parents and the tough big boss, Kelley (played by Colm Meaney, from Star Trek TNG and DS9.) Gives a harsh and surprisingly realistic backdrop to the action - including factory work, arrival in America, and the Oklahoma land race. The plot is not orginal but all around the movie is thoroughly entertaining. If you don't see it for any other reason, see it for some stunning visuals and John William's superb soundtrack.

Summary: Wonderful Romantic film
Review: I know it's your typical sweet and sapy romantic film, and that Kidman and Cruise's Irish accents really sucked, but I liked it anyway. Sure it wasn't some mind-altering, profound, life-changing movie, but sometimes you just want to sit down and watch a flick that makes you feel good. This is it.
